Chapter 136: Chapter 136: Ivy Sherwood’s Car Loses Control
Silas Blackwood scowled. "Ivy Sherwood, what’s that supposed to mean? Who are you calling small?"
That was a blatant insult to his manhood. Silas Blackwood didn’t think there was anything wrong with him. ’Is there really someone out there better than me?’
And what Ivy said... ’Does she mean she’s seen other men?’
"Whoever you think I’m talking about, that’s who I mean," Ivy Sherwood stated bluntly.
Ivy Sherwood might not have known about Silas Blackwood’s endowments, but she was intimately familiar with a certain other man’s. By comparison, Silas was just a little chili pepper.
’Only someone like Anna Nash would be into that sort of thing.’
"You..." Silas Blackwood’s expression turned even uglier.
Just then, Anna Nash spoke up. "Ivy Sherwood, you’re just mad you can’t have Silas. Why do you have to put him down like that?"
It finally dawned on Silas Blackwood. ’So that’s it. Ivy Sherwood is just saying this because of sour grapes.’
’She must be doing this deliberately to provoke me, hoping I’ll get back together with her, right?’
Nina Scott snorted with laughter, her eyes glancing toward Silas Blackwood’s lower half. "It really doesn’t look that impressive."
"Anna Nash, are you just not doing it for him? Young Master Blackwood isn’t even reacting."
"No, wait. Don’t tell me that’s how small it is even when he *is* turned on?"
Each sentence was more insulting than the last. Silas Blackwood’s face turned green with rage.
"Nina Scott! This is none of your business!"
"What do you mean, none of my business? I’m just part of the audience. If Young Master Blackwood is going to put on a show in public, he can’t complain when people comment on the performance."
"You two!" Silas Blackwood’s fists clenched, and his eyes were spitting fire. He looked like he was about to throw a punch.
’I was just kissing Anna Nash, I was already hard. Couldn’t they see how magnificent I am?’
Ivy Sherwood mocked him. "Silas Blackwood, having hard fists doesn’t make you a man. You’re truly useless if you can’t get it up where it counts."
"Ivy Sherwood!" Silas Blackwood was absolutely livid.
Nina Scott’s grin grew wider. ’That’s Ivy for you. She’s not afraid to say anything.’
"Nina, let’s go. Don’t stoop to his level." Ivy Sherwood took Nina Scott’s hand, not wanting to waste another breath on Silas Blackwood.
Nina Scott’s laughter could still be heard as they walked away. Silas Blackwood felt utterly humiliated.
Anna Nash scrambled up from the ground. Even she had to admit that Silas Blackwood wasn’t very good in bed. It wasn’t just his technique—he didn’t last long, either.
But in front of Silas Blackwood, Anna Nash of course had to save face for him. "Silas, don’t listen to their nonsense. I love how you are. You’re so amazing... you always make me feel so good."
"Really?" Silas Blackwood’s anger finally subsided a little.
"Yes."
Silas Blackwood hugged Anna Nash again. "That’s my Anna. You know what’s good."
Ivy Sherwood and Nina Scott went over to pick out their cars. Nina felt incredibly vindicated. "Ivy, did you see his face? Silas Blackwood was practically green. It was hilarious, I almost died laughing."
"I didn’t see. It’s not important."
"Anna Nash makes me so mad! We let her off easy just by making her kowtow. That damn two-faced bitch!"
"It’s not worth getting angry over someone who doesn’t matter." By contrast, Ivy Sherwood didn’t seem angry at all; she had already started looking at the cars.
"Nina, what do you think of this one?" Ivy Sherwood had her eye on a car. It was gray, very low-key and not at all flashy.
"Isn’t that a little too understated? Silas Blackwood’s red one is gorgeous. What a waste of a good car."
"I think it’s great. I’ll take this one." Ivy Sherwood made her choice quickly. "I’m just going for a casual drive, I don’t need anything too fancy."
Ivy Sherwood wasn’t here to compete today, she just wanted to scratch her racing itch.
Nina Scott also went to pick out a car. After they made their choices, the two of them went to change into racing suits.
After Nina Scott and Ivy Sherwood went to change, Cheryl Yates emerged from the shadows.
She gave a slight wave, and someone immediately came over. "Those are the two cars they picked. Get to work."
"When she gets on the track later, you know what to do, right?"
The person beside Cheryl Yates nodded. "Understood."
"Good. Succeed, and you’ll be paid handsomely." A deep hatred burned in Cheryl Yates’s eyes. ’Ivy Sherwood started this.’
Soon, Ivy Sherwood came out, changed into her racing suit.
The racing suit was a mix of red and white. Being tall, Ivy Sherwood wore the heavy suit perfectly without looking bulky. Her hair was tied up in a high bun, giving her a clean, sharp look.
Even from behind, she looked effortlessly cool and striking.
Julian Grant and Seth Scott, who had just finished a lap, had returned. Just as they got out of their car, they saw Ivy Sherwood.
Ivy Sherwood was holding her phone, seemingly texting someone. The way she stood there with her head slightly bowed was captivating.
Julian Grant quickly snapped a photo of this moment and sent it to Quentin Blackwood.
"She’s gorgeous, isn’t she? So much presence. She’s got that heroic chic down, a woman who outshines any man."
Julian Grant’s camera panned, secretly capturing Seth Scott beside him. "See that? The guy’s completely mesmerized."
A moment later, Nina Scott came out in her suit and chatted with Ivy Sherwood for a bit.
"Ivy, want to race?"
Ivy Sherwood shook her head. "I’m just going to take it easy."
"Alright then, I’m going for it."
"Alright. You take it easy too. Be careful," Ivy Sherwood urged.
Ivy Sherwood got in her car, first testing the brakes and other functions. After confirming there were no problems, she drove out onto the track.
The racetrack was large, and the course was designed with significant obstacles and ramps. Racing was fundamentally a game of speed. Though Ivy Sherwood drove steadily, her pace was by no means slow.
Nina Scott was much faster than her. As soon as Ivy Sherwood drove out, she saw Nina’s car up ahead. It seemed Nina hadn’t been able to let loose in a long time, which was why she was going so fast.
After two laps, Ivy Sherwood realized something was wrong. The brakes didn’t feel as responsive anymore.
Then, a car shot right past her. All she heard was a roar in her ear. It was Nina’s car. Why was she driving so fast?
There was a dangerous curve ahead, one where the slightest mistake could send a car crashing into the outer guardrail. And Nina Scott wasn’t slowing down at all, just charging straight for it?
Something was terribly wrong. Nina Scott was going way too fast; at that speed, she was sure to crash. Moreover, her car seemed unstable, swerving as if she were panicking and couldn’t control it.
Seeing Nina Scott was about to crash, Ivy Sherwood had no choice but to speed up even more. As they entered the curve, she swerved and hit Nina’s car, using her own to absorb some of the impact.
Then Ivy Sherwood rapidly turned the steering wheel, narrowly avoiding being slammed into the guardrail by Nina Scott’s car herself.
The violent impact nearly rattled Ivy Sherwood’s bones apart. She quickly straightened the wheel and lightly tapped the brakes, only to discover that the previously unresponsive brakes were now completely useless. Pressing the pedal did nothing at all!
In order to save Nina Scott, she had just accelerated to a very high speed. If she couldn’t slow down now, she would be in grave danger.
The whole maneuver was incredibly dangerous, and the rescue itself was a thing of beauty. You couldn’t pull that off without serious skill, and her reaction time was beyond what any normal person could manage.
Up in the stands, Julian Grant was dumbfounded. He never expected Ivy Sherwood to have such skills.
Except...
"Are those two cars out of control?" Julian Grant murmured. He had been keeping an eye on Ivy Sherwood for someone else ever since she drove out.
Just then, a voice came from beside him. "What’s out of control?"
Seeing the newcomer, Julian Grant had an ’I knew you’d show up’ expression on his face.
"I was starting to think you weren’t going to show. Your precious Ivy is out there on the track. In the gray car."
Quentin Blackwood watched for two seconds, then his brow furrowed. "She’s going too fast."
And this was a racetrack, with curves, obstacles, and other cars in front and behind. At the speed Ivy Sherwood was going, it was extremely dangerous.
’Why would Ivy Sherwood be driving so fast?’
