Chapter 131: Chapter 131: Stopping at Nothing to Get Pregnant

"You’re out?" Silas Blackwood asked.

This made Anna Nash pause for a moment. ’Didn’t Silas have someone get me out?’

But Anna Nash didn’t dwell on it. "I’m in the hospital right now, Silas. I know I shouldn’t be bothering you, but I miss you so much. I’m so scared. Can you come see me?"

Silas Blackwood really hadn’t seen Anna Nash in a long time. After finding out the hospital and room number, he rushed over.

The moment he saw Anna Nash, she fell into his arms. "Silas, Anna missed you so much."

"Anna, you’ve gotten so thin." Seeing Anna Nash, Silas Blackwood’s heart ached for her again.

Her face was just as beautiful as ever, making his heart flutter once more.

Anna Nash wiped away her tears. "Anna’s fine. I didn’t suffer at all. Just seeing you makes me so happy, Silas. Please don’t ever leave me again, okay?"

Silas Blackwood was a complete sucker for this kind of act; Anna Nash’s tears were enough to shatter his heart.

"Of course I won’t leave."

Anna Nash wrapped her arms around Silas Blackwood’s neck and kissed his cheek. "Silas is the best. Anna loves you the most."

Silas Blackwood just smiled and led Anna Nash to the hospital bed. "You’re not well right now. You should rest first."

Anna Nash paused, sensing that Silas Blackwood wasn’t as devoted to her as he used to be.

’This is supposed to be a long-awaited reunion,’ she thought. ’Silas should have been all over me the moment he arrived, not like this. He hasn’t even kissed me.’

"Anna’s body is perfectly fine, Silas. I miss you so much... I miss every part of you." Anna Nash’s hands wrapped around Silas Blackwood’s waist, her fingers tracing his body in a seductive dance.

Silas Blackwood didn’t know what was wrong with him, but he just wasn’t in the mood. He took Anna Nash’s hand. "Just rest for now. It breaks my heart to see you so thin."

Anna Nash was surprised but didn’t say anything. "Then you have to stay with me."

"Alright," Silas Blackwood agreed.

Out of Silas Blackwood’s sight, Anna Nash’s expression darkened. ’I was only locked up for a little over a month. Something must have happened during that time. It must have been that bitch, Ivy Sherwood!’

After a while, Anna Nash got up again. "Silas, I want to take a shower. I feel all sticky and uncomfortable."

"Mm."

Anna Nash went into the bathroom. A moment later, her voice called out from inside, "Silas, can you bring me a change of clothes?"

Silas Blackwood saw the clothes nearby and brought them to her.

The moment he stepped inside, however, Anna Nash grabbed his wrist and yanked him into the bathroom with her.

Anna Nash stood on her tiptoes, wrapped both arms around Silas Blackwood’s neck, and pressed her lips against his.

Anna Nash kissed Silas Blackwood, testing him with all her old tricks. ’I refuse to believe it,’ she thought. ’Even after I pull out all the stops, I can’t make him give in to me?’

In the past, Silas Blackwood would have been unable to resist.

But now, he realized he didn’t seem to have those same feelings for Anna Nash anymore.

Even with Anna Nash kissing him like this, his reaction was muted.

After a few moments of kissing, however, Silas Blackwood pushed Anna Nash away.

"Anna, don’t. Put your clothes on first, you’ll catch a cold." After speaking, Silas Blackwood handed the clothes to Anna Nash and prepared to leave.

How could Anna Nash accept this? ’What the hell is wrong with Silas? He won’t even touch me when I’m like this.’

Anna Nash hugged Silas Blackwood from behind and began unbuttoning his clothes. "Silas, please, just give yourself to me. It’s the only way I’ll know this is real and not just a dream."

In the end, Anna Nash’s skills were too much for him. When one method failed, she simply switched to another. Silas Blackwood’s resolve softened, and he ended up in bed with Anna Nash right there in the hospital.

Although Silas Blackwood still held her as he slept, Anna Nash couldn’t sleep a wink. A deep sense of crisis was taking root in her heart.

’I have to get pregnant, and fast!’

’Otherwise, if Silas stops sleeping with me, I’ll lose my chance.’

Anna Nash clung to him relentlessly, finally convincing Silas Blackwood to stay with her for two days. They spent nearly the entire time tangled up in bed.

Silas Blackwood had other matters to attend to, and on top of that, once Caleb Blackwood found out, he made a call that summoned Silas back home.

In the past, Silas Blackwood would have simply ignored his father’s call and stayed with Anna Nash.

This time, however, he chose to leave.

And Anna Nash didn’t try to make him stay. After all, she had other things to do as well.

She tried to recall the name of that man from before she was caught. ’What was his name again? Gideon Gordon, was it?’

The last time they’d met, Anna Nash had kept his number. Now, she took the initiative to call him.

The sales revenue for this month alone was enough to astonish Ivy Sherwood.

Ivy Sherwood’s workshop had expanded, and she’d already hired quite a few new people.

Ivy Sherwood had also heard that the Sherwood Company was making big moves recently. The former CEO, Timothy Sherwood, had apparently handed the entire company over to his daughter, Thea Sherwood, who was only in her early twenties.

Although Thea Sherwood had a reputation as a perfume genius, her public image had plummeted after the recent plagiarism scandal.

Now that the Sherwood Company was in her hands, it was naturally a hot topic of discussion.

Even Nina Scott brought it up when she and Ivy Sherwood met for dinner.

"What on earth was your dad thinking? Why would he suddenly hand the company over to Thea Sherwood?"

"Besides, that’s so blatantly biased, isn’t it? You’re both his daughters, yet Thea Sherwood gets everything while you were kicked out of the Sherwood Company with nothing." Nina Scott thought it was incredibly unfair.

"That’s not quite right. I left the Sherwood Company on my own accord. Besides, the Sherwood Family still has Claire Sherwood," Ivy Sherwood said, unconcerned.

"I’d almost forgotten about her. That Claire Sherwood is bad news. At least with Thea Sherwood, her wickedness is out in the open—if she doesn’t like you, she’ll come right at you. But Claire is different. She’s too good at playing the part of a perfect, well-bred lady, but her schemes behind the scenes are vicious."

Compared to Thea Sherwood, Nina Scott detested Claire Sherwood even more.

Luckily, Claire Sherwood went abroad when she was a teenager. In the blink of an eye, it’s been almost ten years since she left.

Ivy Sherwood said, "Timothy Sherwood handing the Sherwood Company over to Thea Sherwood probably wasn’t his idea. He was likely forced into it."

"Thea Sherwood has the power to force him?"

Ivy Sherwood lifted her glass of water and took a sip. "She didn’t before. Now, it’s a different story."

Last time at the resort, it was obvious Thea Sherwood wasn’t there alone.

If she has Charlie Rhodes backing her, then Thea Sherwood would have that kind of leverage. It seems Thea has gone from being a victim to a willing accomplice.
