Chapter 1905: Chapter 28: Survival in Desperation

"It stopped? Is it afraid of that token?"

They exchanged glances, seeing disbelief in each other’s eyes.

They had witnessed the power of the entity behind them, something even all of them together couldn’t match. Yet, unbelievably, it halted before this tiny token, not daring to step into the glow it emitted, only drifting around the outside.

What on earth is this token!?

Everyone was dumbfounded.

Driven by curiosity, they moved a little closer, scrutinizing the token.

The token was deep purple all over, covered in nebulae, as if countless galaxies flowed within, appearing and disappearing in a blink, as though eternal ages had been experienced in an instant.

In the center, the faintly visible character "原" (Primordial) was engraved. They thought back to the experts they knew related to this word but came up blank.

"Primordial... could it be Primordial Venerable? But no, Primordial Venerable’s power, though strong, is at most comparable to that monster. It couldn’t possibly hesitate just because of an external object."

A thin man with a goatee said.

The others nodded, sharing similar thoughts. In their memory, only Primordial Venerable was associated with the word "Primordial."

After contemplating without any conclusion, they shifted their attention elsewhere.

"Though we are temporarily safe under the token’s influence, it’s also blocking our path to the Big Vortex. Forcing our way through isn’t an option, we must think of another plan."

"We’ve been away for so long that the Divine Hidden Palace must have noticed our situation. Perhaps reinforcements are on their way, we should wait here, maybe we’ll be out soon!"

"Reinforcements? Who do you think will come? Look at that thing outside, unless someone like Primordial Venerable arrives, any rescue will be a suicide mission with no meaning."

"Of course I know that, but what other plan do you have? The vortex path is sealed, a terrifying creature is lurking outside, stepping out of this circle means death, what else can we do!?"

"..."

"Stop arguing. Let’s use this time to restore ourselves, quickly replenish the spiritual power we’ve used up. We shouldn’t be left helpless if something happens!"

The long-haired man spoke, and the others stopped their bickering, appearing to respect his authority.

The five closed their eyes, focusing on meditation to rapidly restore their depleted spiritual power using their own cultivation techniques.

But their plans were short-lived as sudden restless roars erupted from outside, with a massive shadow speeding towards them.

"Not good! It’s charging here!"

The black man was startled, and strange runes carved over his body began to glow as he maximized the flow of spiritual power within him.

"Roar!!!"

The massive shadow, nearing the Purple Token’s glow range, suddenly veered off in another direction.

"It didn’t come... phew..."

The black man exhaled deeply in relief, evidently shaken by the preceding situation.

The long-haired man frowned, his expression grave, "It seems impatient, its presence here is potent, but it lacks intelligence. I suspect it may soon rush in regardless, we must be ready."

"Damn it, are we running again? If we leave now, we might not be so lucky next time..."

The goateed man spoke with reluctance.

Everyone fell silent.

Indeed, they had found a temporary refuge in the Demon Realm, even a vortex-like space passageway here. Leaving would mean losing this rare opportunity.

"Roar!!!"

In the darkness, another heavy roar sounded, the Black Shadow reappeared nearby, this time almost touching the light emitted by the Purple Token.

Seeing this, cold sweat involuntarily broke out on their foreheads; the creature’s boldness grew, this place no longer sheltered them.

"Boom!"

Whilst hesitating whether to flee immediately, a burst of brilliant light erupted from the darkness, a colossal energy beam shot through the glow towards a deserted area.

"Watch out!"

"Quick, dodge!"

The five reacted quickly, at the critical moment they rushed at top speed away from the beam. Four narrowly escaped unharmed, but one who resembled a stone man appeared a tad slower, and the colossal beam hit, reducing him instantly to ashes.

"Gesaanta!!"

The long-haired man shouted in shock, wanting to save him but it was too late, he could only watch helplessly as the stone man perished under the beam.

"Damn it!"

He roared to the sky, the fallen stone man was his close friend, leader of Stone Ancestor Orogsanta Mountain, also a True God, yet he couldn’t withstand even one strike from the monster, reduced to ashes.
