Chapter 1904: Chapter 27: Ruins Realm (2)
Darkness, in the eternally lonely deep space, a group of people hurriedly shuttled through this area, surrounded by boundless coldness. Countless eyes were watching them, and grotesque figures lurked in the darkness.
The five people were like a lone leaf boat in the black tide, with a weak fishing light barely illuminating the area around them. Wherever they passed, the black tide would briefly retreat and open a small region, but as soon as they moved past, the area was quickly filled again. The lurking demons feared their strength and dared not attack recklessly, but if they exposed even a tiny flaw, these creatures would immediately hurl themselves at them, attempting to tear down those lofty Divine figures.
Time passed in unknown lengths, and the group felt utterly exhausted and unable to continue. However, the despairing environment around them remained unchanged. They felt as if they were treading in place, completely trapped within this Demon Realm.
Of course, standing still was impossible; the feeling only arose because the Demon Realm was exceedingly vast.
It is well known that this universe is divided into four main regions, from the smallest Dark Spirit Star Domain to the largest Insect Domain. This universe resembles a gigantic sphere wrapped in an unseen, untouchable, imperceptible, and insurmountable chaos, and this entirety forms a singularity within the high-dimensional universe.
If the four Star Domains are considered the core inside the singularity, then a larger region lies between the chaos and Star Domains, like an eggshell wrapping the inner Star Domains.
This "shell" is the Demon Realm.
Of course, the Demon Realm is far larger than an eggshell. If it were considered a Star System within the Second Universe, it would far surpass the other four Star Domains in size.
Thus, it is more apt to describe it as resembling a mangosteen or a coconut rather than an eggshell.
At present, the group led by the long-haired man is deeply trapped in this despair-inducing Demon Realm. The Demon Realm possesses the ability to affect space-time, rendering teleportation impossible, and unable to open space wormholes. In certain situations, even the internal space within the Demon Realm might fold or shift, further reducing their chances of escape.
"Why don’t we just turn around and battle that guy?"
The black man at the end of the group spoke, struggling to maintain himself. Prolonged Dark Speed Form was unbearable even at the Extraordinary Level.
The others merely glanced back at him silently, without speaking. Their attitude was clear—if the black man wished to try, he could go ahead, providing the group a bit more time.
No one harbored any thoughts of engaging in battle because they knew the entity behind them was beyond facing, and stopping would only mean death.
The speed of the five people slowed down unconsciously, the inevitable result of extended exertion. Anxiety filled their hearts as the terrifying opportunity intensified, engulfed by a profound sense of despair.
However, as they fled, some light ahead attracted their attention amidst the monotonous darkness.
"What is that? Why is there light ahead?"
Red Clothes gazed at the blurred scene from afar, wanting to perceive it but unable due to the distance and depleted Spiritual Power.
"Let’s go check it out!"
The long-haired man decided at once, leading the group toward it.
It wasn’t recklessness or lack of caution, but they had no choices left. Continuing as before would lead only to death, while checking there might be their only rescue opportunity.
This was their final hope; they used every ounce of their strength, accelerating toward the source of light.
"Hey? Look there, what is that?"
As they drew closer, they finally saw the scene clearly.
It was a vast vortex, turbulent and leading who knows where. Before the vortex floated a palm-sized deep purple Token, from which the light they saw emanated.
"It’s a Big Vortex! Look at the Spiritual Energy fluctuations there; this vortex should be a spatial passage, leading to another area! Heaven hasn’t forsaken us!!"
They were filled with intense excitement upon seeing the vortex. At the bleakest moment, discovering a spatial passage couldn’t help but trigger elation.
The long-haired man was cautiously aware, observing around the passage. All the Demon Clan withdrew three steps back, forming a large circle around the passage, wanting to approach but held back by fear.
"They’re afraid of that Token!"
The long-haired man understood immediately, sensing a tremendous pressure from the deep purple Token that targeted the Demon Clan rather than their group.
"Let’s go! Move!"
At this time, they could pay no heed to anything else, forcefully breaking through the surround of the Demon Clan, diving into the area enveloped by the Token’s light.
Behind them, the Demons roared in anger, eager to rush in but held back, as if an invisible wall obstructed their progress.
After the five charged in, they couldn’t afford to linger. Instead, they raced toward the direction of the Big Vortex.
Yet, in the next second.
"Swish, swish, swish, swish, swish!"
Five streams of light flashed, all were forcibly pushed back by a powerful force just as they neared the Token, barred from entry.
Glancing behind in panic, sensing the pursuing being growing nearer, all five hurried back toward the Big Vortex.
No matter how many times they tried, the result remained unchanged. The purple Token blocked the way into the Big Vortex, with the escape route visible before them but impossible to cross.
"Ah!!! Damn it! I can’t die here! I must make it through!!!"
The black man shouted, madly charging at the vortex once more.
At this point, running was clearly too late, leaving him with only the hope of the Big Vortex, thus erupting with all his strength to survive.
"Boom!!"
Going all out, he collided, breaking into pieces upon contact with the Token, yet failed to budge it.
"No... no... How can this be... What is that..."
Although his injuries rapidly healed, the situation still plunged into hopelessness. The escape path was blocked by the purple Token, creating a maddening cycle from hell to heaven and back.
The long-haired man wore a grim expression, realizing from the black man’s attempt that even collectively they couldn’t breach the Token.
Then, feeling the terrifying presence draw near, they all suddenly noticed the being didn’t rush over to tear them apart as initially feared, but stopped outside the light’s coverage, seemingly influenced and testing the reality here.
