Chapter 854: Chapter 769: Only 1 Person Survives_2

Because the magic power they used was not strong enough, any spell lacking energy intensity would be absorbed by the metallic yellow sand, inadvertently reinforcing its strength.

Duke hadn’t moved an inch from start to finish; standing still, he effortlessly dealt with all four of them.

This set of abilities made him invincible when dealing with weaklings, with no effort whatsoever.

After taking care of these people, Duke turned and walked deeper into the battlefield.

After a few steps, he stopped.

The scope of the third layer wasn’t large, and with his spiritual power perception, there were at least a dozen auras moving within a few kilometers.

Some were in a rapid chase, some in fierce combat, and some lurking in wait.

Flying a short distance would lead to encountering someone, and every battle consumed energy, yet eventually, only one could walk out alive.

Exhausting too much energy now would be paving the way for others.

Duke thought for a moment, then his body suddenly disintegrated, transforming into a stream of dark golden sand, silently sinking underground.

The underground was much quieter than the surface.

There was no wind, no shouts of killing, only occasional faint tremors from deep rock layers, indicating someone was fighting above.

The sand stream moved slowly underground, avoiding areas of intense energy fluctuations, advancing deeper into the battlefield.

He wasn’t in a hurry to act; now wasn’t the right time.

Those with average strength would band together to first eliminate the most threatening person, which was the wisest choice.

No one who made it here was a fool; everyone knew to kick out the strongest first, then rely on their own skills.

Duke did not want to become the target of a group attack.

The sand stream lay dormant underground for a long time.

While sensing the commotion above, he moved closer to the center of the battlefield.

There, the energy fluctuations were strongest, with auras he was quite familiar with.

Duke stopped below a pile of rubble, the sand stream slowly floated up, peeking through the cracks to observe the battle on the surface.

In the distance, on a barren open land, a melee battle was erupting.

Duke’s gaze pierced through the grayish-white mist, clearly seeing the figures in the field — Vera, Leon, Adrian, and several West Coast wizards, engaged in a fierce confrontation with Audric and four or five Blood Rose students.

Leon stood at the forefront.

His Holy Silver Battle Body was more consolidated than before; the silver-white giant hadn’t fully unfolded, but the half-body armor already covered his torso and arms, with silver-white light flowing over him like a living work of art.

Every punch he threw carried a sound of wind slicing, the Holy Silver Fighting Spirit on his fists like meteors crashing into the Blood Rose wizards’ shields, erupting into patches of silver-white light spots.

Three Blood Rose students were attacking him from all sides, with flames, ice spikes, and wind blades pounding in succession but failing to break through his armor.

Leon’s fist struck a wizard’s shield, shattering it, the person spewing blood as they flew back, immediately engulfed by golden light.

"Is this the extent of the Golden Continent’s strength?" Leon’s voice was deep, squeezed out from the depths of his chest.

The remaining two Blood Rose students turned pale, stepping back in unison by a few steps.

On the other side, Vera and Adrian jointly suppressed Audric.

Vera’s thorns wildly surged from the space behind her, purple vines like countless poisonous snakes, striking Audric from all angles.

The tips of those thorns glowed with a ghostly blue, evidently infused with some toxin or corrosive energy.

Audric moved swiftly among the thorny thicket, wings spread, barely avoiding each thrust.

There were already a few shallow scratches on his scale armor; though not deep, they proved Vera’s attacks posed a threat to him.

Adrian stood at a slightly distant position from Vera, his combat style entirely different from hers.

Water and fire magic alternated in his hands, with fireballs and water blades intertwining in the air, forming waves of attack like ice and fire.

As soon as Audric dodged a thicket of thorns, a sea of flames confronted him; just as he extinguished the flames on his body, a water jet underfoot staggered him again.

What caught Duke’s attention most was the small figure beside Adrian.

That was an Elemental Spirit.

It was only the size of an adult’s fist, comprised of two colors, half crimson and half sea blue.

The Elemental Spirit’s body was humanoid, with a pair of translucent wings flowing with blended water-fire light.

It hovered by Adrian’s shoulder, waving its hands continuously, each wave releasing a red and blue interwoven energy wave, accurately blasting toward Audric.

The power of those energy waves exceeded ordinary Level 2 magic, capable of leaving shallow scorches on Audric’s scale armor.

A dual-attribute water-fire Elemental Spirit.

Duke had read about such things in library records, noting Elemental Spirits as exceedingly rare beings, with dual attributes being exceptionally uncommon.

They were not tamed Magical Beasts, but rather spiritual lives naturally born from Elemental Energy, with a perception for elemental attunement far exceeding any wizard’s.

A Level 2 dual-attribute water-fire Elemental Spirit was equivalent to a Level 2 Peak wizard in terms of combat value.

For an Elemental Mage, this creature was an extremely useful auxiliary helper, capable of amplifying their perception and control over elements, significantly enhancing the effectiveness of Elemental Magic used.

Adrian glanced sideways at the spirit, speaking as if issuing a command.

The spirit nodded, wings fluttering as it flew from his shoulder, maneuvering behind Audric to unleash a massive ice-fire vortex, trapping him in the center.

Audric’s wings flapped fiercely in an attempt to break out of the vortex, but the intermingling of ice and fire formed an enclosed cage, each impact rebounded off.

Vera’s thorns took the opportunity to surge from the ground, wrapping around Audric’s ankles.

His form stagnated, swept by the vortex’s afterwaves, with his shoulder scales shattering and blood spurting out.

Audric grunted, folding his wings to enclose his entire body, enduring several waves of subsequent assaults.

Duke lay underground, quietly observing all this.

Leon fought with increasing valor, his Holy Silver Battle Body solidifying as the battle progressed, gradually extending from half-body armor to full body coverage.

The Blood Rose students in front of him appeared frail as paper; one punch, one knockout, golden light ceaselessly flashing across the battlefield.

In the span of just a cup of tea, four or five Blood Rose students were all eliminated, leaving only Audric struggling to hold on.

Vera and Adrian’s suppressing firepower continued without pause, leaving Audric no time to aid the Blood Rose wizards.

Leon shook the blood off his hands, raising his head to look at the last figure standing.

Audric’s golden wings were already battered; two bone spurs on the left wing were broken, and a large hole was torn in the right wing’s membrane. Blood trickled from the damaged scales, pooling into a small dark red puddle on the ground.

His breathing was rapid, chest heaving violently, yet his pale golden vertical pupils remained sharp, locked onto each foe before him.

Audric looked down at the thorns wrapped around his legs, then up at the vortex above, finally resting his gaze on Leon.

His lips curled into a slight smile.

That smile wasn’t bitter, wasn’t surrendered, but something far more dangerous.

Like a Hunter finally waiting for the prey to show a flaw, or a volcano awaiting the moment to erupt.

"The farce should end." His voice wasn’t loud, yet it reached every ear clearly.

In that instant, Duke sensed an unprecedented terrifying aura.

It wasn’t emanating from Audric, but from deep within his bloodline. From the golden dragon blood flowing through him, something was awakening.

Golden flowers began to appear around Audric.

Those flowers grew out of nowhere, blossoming one after another slowly by his side.

Each was the size of a palm, petals of pure gold, with faint glimmers at the edges.
