Chapter 253: Chapter 198: A New Divine Selection! An Inescapable Fate?

"That’s right. Your big brother is the Divine Selection of the God of Knights."

The God of Knights!

Isaac’s pupils constricted as he stared at Caesar in shock.

This wasn’t ’Knight’ as in the title of Nobility, but ’Knight’ of the Extraordinary Profession!

The God of Knights was the only Deity to take a profession as His Divine Name, and among all Deities, He was one of those at the very pinnacle!

It was precisely because of Him that the Knight profession was able to grow and develop, to the point where it could now stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Wizards.

This was a quintessential True God. Therefore, His Divine Selection—unlike that of an Evil God—didn’t carry any inherent danger. It was purely a Blessing, an affirmation of one’s talent!

According to historical records, every Divine Selection of the God of Knights who managed to survive eventually became a Demigod!

Isaac now completely understood why Prince Norns had wanted to kill his mother. His goal—or rather, the goal of the Terra Royal Family—was simply to infuriate Caesar!

Young geniuses are never short on pride and hot-headedness. If Caesar, in a fit of rage, went to kill Prince Norns, they could use that as a pretext to kill Caesar!

The God of Knights wouldn’t concern Himself with such matters. Granting the Blessing was the only thing He would do for His Divine Selection. After all, the Path of the Knight was one forged through endless thorns; He had no love for flowers that could only grow in a greenhouse.

Historically, quite a few of the Divine Selection had died for this very reason.

As for why the Terra Royal Family was behind Norns...

It was because Caesar’s talent was simply too outstanding. He had the potential to become a Demigod!

That was a power great enough to shake the very foundations of the Terra Empire’s rule. The Terra Royal Family—or at least, a faction within it—would never allow Caesar to reach his full potential.

As for the Mad Witch, his motive was even easier to understand. As a High-level Mage, he didn’t dare to act directly against a Divine Selection of the God of Knights who had yet to mature. The Mad Witch’s fear of True Gods ran deep; being mad didn’t mean he wasn’t afraid of death.

But he coveted the notoriety of such a "feat," so the mother of the Divine Selection became his perfect target.

Having pieced everything together, Isaac picked up the glass of juice in front of him and took a gentle sip.

"Father, what are your thoughts on the Terra Royal Family and Prince Norns?" Isaac asked, watching Gaia quietly.

For a moment, Isaac felt he could relate to the Emperor of Terra’s predicament. The Emperor and the Terra Royal Family had always been trying to prevent the future where Isaac would destroy the Terra Empire, yet everything happening around him seemed to be pushing him toward that very fate...

Of course, unlike the Emperor of Terra, Isaac didn’t particularly mind that future!

In fact, at this very moment, he was genuinely considering turning that future into reality!

Still, he wanted to hear Gaia’s thoughts on the matter.

"I know what you’re trying to say. But regarding this matter, the war-hawks within the Terra Royal Family were executed by the Emperor years ago. In exchange, we arranged a marriage contract with the Norns Clan. That was the conclusion to the incident, an ending personally decreed by the Emperor! The final ending!"

"Is that so?" Isaac narrowed his eyes.

That explained a lot of things. After all, a Demigod had spoken. No matter how much grief or resentment one felt, it had to be swallowed. Caesar only had the *potential* of a Demigod; he wasn’t an actual Demigod.

However...

Isaac looked his big brother Caesar up and down, his brow furrowed. "Big Brother, your strength doesn’t seem to live up to the title of a Divine Selection. There are other factors at play, aren’t there?"

Hearing this, Gaia sighed, nodded, and said with a tone of resignation, "The reason your big brother received the Blessing from the God of Knights is because he was born with an Authority—[Boundless]. That Authority was taken away by the Emperor. In return, I was given the chance to break through to Tier Four, and your older sister was given the chance to become a Grand Arcanist."

Isaac nodded in sudden realization. He caught a glimpse of his father’s tightly clenched fists out of the corner of his eye. ’No wonder the Solomon Clan’s rise felt so strange,’ he thought. After all, his grandfather had only been an ordinary High-level Knight—and one who had walked the path of Demons at that.

But when it came to Gaia’s generation, they had suddenly taken off as if using a cheat, getting almost anything they could wish for. ’Knowing Father’s personality, he must be in agony,’ Isaac mused. ’But no matter how much it hurt, what could he possibly do?’

’He was up against a Demigod!’

’The fact that the Emperor was willing to sit down and negotiate was already a sign of great favor!’

What surprised Isaac was Caesar. ’He’s like one of those tragic heroes from the stories!’ he thought. ’The kind whose innate power is stolen from them at birth!’

Caesar’s situation might have been even worse, in fact!

Because [Boundless] was an incredibly strong, special, and suitable Authority for a Knight!

With this Authority, there would be no bottlenecks in the Cultivation of the Path of the Knight!

And one’s Battle Qi would be nearly infinite!

And just like that, it was gone...

And an Authority, unlike a Venerable Bone, couldn’t be regrown later in life. Once it was gone, it was gone for good.

Yet, despite suffering such a fate, Caesar hadn’t become bitter or dejected. Instead, he had become the good-natured man he was today. It was simply... baffling!

"So, you all just accepted this reality?"

"It was the Emperor’s command. We had no other choice."

"I understand," Isaac said, standing up. "But that was the Solomon Clan’s choice, not mine. The Mad Witch Prank Master—I will kill him. Prince Norns—I will kill him, too..."

He paused, looking at Gaia’s suddenly changed expression, and said, word by word, "And them, I will kill them too! As far as I’m concerned, Mother’s death is not a closed Chapter!"

Although Isaac had never met his mother in this life, as her son, it was only natural that he should avenge her.

He wasn’t one to hold back simply because his enemies were too powerful.

"Don’t do anything rash! That’s a Demigod we’re talking about! A Deity who can act freely in the Real World! Not like those Outer Gods you’ve been dealing with!"

"So what if he’s a Demigod?" Isaac narrowed his eyes. "Even Demigods can die."

"Isaac, stop probing," Caesar, who had been standing silently behind Gaia this whole time, suddenly said. "The Emperor can’t perceive our conversation here. Tell us what you’re really thinking."

At that, Isaac smiled faintly, sat back down, and looked at Caesar. "So, when are you planning to make your move?"

"The Emperor isn’t dead yet."

"Understood. What do you need me to do?"

"Do you want the emotional answer or the rational one?"

Isaac raised an eyebrow. "The rational one, of course. As for your emotional advice, my advice is not to give any."

"Make deals with more Outer Gods."

The corners of Isaac’s mouth turned up. "No problem. As for the one who took your [Boundless]... do you need me to take care of him for you?"

"No. I’ll do it myself."

"Are you capable of that?"

"Believe me, my feelings for our mother run deeper than yours!" Caesar finished, his gaze firm as he met Isaac’s eyes.

"I see. However, allow me to test your strength," Isaac said, smiling and shaking his head as he stood up once more.

At his words, the other two men stared in stunned silence. Caesar looked at him, astonished. "You? Test me? I’m not some weakling like King Yitla."

"Heh. Don’t resist." Isaac chuckled. Without another word, he gave a light wave of his hand. A strange Magic Power instantly coiled around the three of them, and in the blink of an eye, they were pulled into Isaac’s Dimension World. As a shadow of Magic Power enveloped the scene, Isaac vanished into the Dimension along with them.

Isaac’s Dimension World: The Realm of Void

The three of them stared in shock at the seemingly endless Dimension World. They were no fools; they understood exactly what the existence of such a Dimension signified!

They knew Isaac had a dimension fragment, and they knew it had high growth potential, but what the hell?! Hadn’t it grown a little too fast?!

"Alright. He shouldn’t be able to detect any fighting here, so Big Brother, you can finally unleash your full strength. Don’t worry, I’ll only mobilize the Dimension’s Magic Power; I won’t bully you with my home-field advantage. My main body is in the outside world, so my state of Infinite Magic Power will last for an hour. Therefore, Big Brother, if you can last that hour without losing, you win."

Isaac’s figure slowly materialized from the Dimension’s void, his voice laced with a quiet confidence.
