Chapter 252: Chapter 198: A New Divine Selection! An Inescapable Fate?

Isaac hadn’t been sitting for long when an Arcane Radiance flashed at the door, and the figures of Gaia and Caesar emerged from it.

Watching the two walk over, Isaac narrowed his eyes slightly. ’They’ve gotten stronger again!’

Compared to the last time they met, both Gaia and Caesar had grown much stronger. His father, Gaia, in particular, now gave him a sense of fatal threat!

This was something no ordinary High-level Knight could achieve. At the very least, he was very close to a Tier Four Miracle Knight!

This made Isaac very curious. He already knew the method for a Legendary Mage to break through to Tier Four—one simply had to leave behind three Miracles in this world to advance. But as for how a Knight broke through to Tier Four, he was completely in the dark.

However, compared to his curiosity about his father, Isaac was more surprised by Caesar, because he could sense two Authorities on him!

One was [Thunderbolt], the Authority he had awakened upon his promotion to High-level Knight. But he couldn’t identify the other, only that it wasn’t an Authority of the Elemental System.

But regardless of what kind of Authority it was, this was not normal!

Because High-level Knights, those brutes, were different from High-level Mages who could master Authorities through Privilege Magic. The methods for Knights to acquire an Authority were extremely few. Let alone High-level Knights, many Tier Four, and even Tier Five Knights, possessed only a single Authority!

There was even a saying that Knights couldn’t actively master other Authorities and could only rely on natural awakening!

However, this claim had never been confirmed, as Knights didn’t particularly care about it. True, Authorities were powerful and miraculous, but for a Knight, the number of Authorities wasn’t what determined their strength.

Rather, it was the tempering of their own bodies and the depth to which they developed their Authority.

Of course, this was also why Knights were still a step below Wizards in the higher realms. After all, their combat methods were too one-dimensional and easily countered.

So, no matter how he looked at it, Caesar’s situation was very strange.

And what was even stranger was that after Caesar appeared, the Demon Eye on Isaac’s forehead, which had seen enough and was about to close, suddenly flew wide open. It stared intently at Caesar, as if it had seen something interesting.

And this surprised Isaac even more. He understood the meaning behind this better than anyone!

He narrowed his eyes, looking Caesar up and down. He realized that his understanding of his big brother—or rather, his understanding of the entire Solomons Family—was sorely lacking!

Of course, it wasn’t his fault. After all, he had been frail and sickly since childhood.

He was practically more Lin Daiyu than Lin Daiyu herself!

Under such circumstances, Gaia naturally wouldn’t let him get too involved in family affairs. Then, after Isaac became a Transcendent, he split off from the family and remained immersed in his own research, never once asking about family matters.

But his intuition told him that this time, he would get all the answers!

"You’re here."

"Yes."

"Stop randomly attaching all sorts of strange organs to your body!" Gaia said, sitting down across from Isaac. His brow furrowed as he looked at the Demon Eye on Isaac’s forehead, which was slowly closing.

"This is the path of a Legendary Mage; I can’t help it." Isaac shrugged. "Don’t worry. The ultimate goal of a Legendary Mage is to sublimate into a High-level Magical Creature, not to become some bizarre Demon."

Isaac said no more about his own situation. He knew this wasn’t something that could be explained in just a few words; it was simply the world’s prejudice against Legendary Mages.

From the very beginning, what Legendary Mages sought was not the power of the organs themselves, but the Concepts they represented. Of course, there was no harm in acquiring some of the organs’ special abilities along the way.

"What do you mean, Prince Norns was involved in Mother’s death? Wasn’t she cursed by the Mad Witch Prank Master? Don’t tell me he hired that Mad Witch?" Isaac’s brow furrowed slightly.

’It’s not impossible. The Mad Witch may be insane, but at the end of the day, they’re still human. And as long as they’re human, they can be swayed by personal gain. Besides, the Mad Witch’s reputation is already terrible; acting as someone’s hired muscle would be child’s play for them.’

’However, Prince Norns’s status is special—so special that he couldn’t possibly associate with a Mad Witch. Otherwise, the Terra Royal Family wouldn’t tolerate him. So he has no reason to do something like this.’

"He didn’t hire that Mad Witch, nor would he dare." As expected, Gaia refuted Isaac’s guess. He continued, "But your mother’s death is indeed related to him. Before that Mad Witch appeared, he had already secretly sent people to make a move on your mother. Although that attempt failed, your mother was injured. This directly led to her being unable to resist the Mad Witch’s Curse later on, causing her to pass away when she gave birth to you."

Hearing this, Isaac’s initial confusion was resolved, but his brow furrowed once more. "Wasn’t Mother just an ordinary noble lady? How could she resist the curse of a High-level Mage? And besides, with the conflict between Prince Norns and you, Father, simply killing Mother wouldn’t have changed anything, would it?"

"Correct. And that’s because this relates to another matter: your big brother’s identity..."

’...How can a mere Viscount Clan have such a complicated backstory?’

"Is my big brother... the Divine Selection?" Although it was a question, Isaac’s tone was filled with a certain conviction. After all, for someone who could attract *that person’s* attention, Isaac couldn’t think of any other identity.

"It seems you really have improved a great deal!" Gaia nodded, then looked at Isaac with a complex expression. He had never intended to tell Isaac any of this, because he had hoped Isaac could live a carefree life.
