Chapter 249: Chapter 196: The Evil Third Eye
By the second day, most of the Mad Witches had already found discussion groups that interested them, so they weren’t looking for new ones on the White Jade Pillars. Although Isaac later tried to drive traffic by copying the titles of popular groups, the effect was minimal.
After all, as Transcendents, Wizards could easily go one or two months without sleep, let alone just two or three days.
Besides, Isaac’s behavior was quickly reported...
This led to an immediate update to the White Jade Square, which introduced a tag feature—keywords extracted from the discussion content were now displayed beneath the group titles.
This new feature made Isaac quite melancholic, as he could no longer go baiting.
However, it made the other Mad Witches inexplicably excited—that damn lunatic was finally facing repercussions!
The punishment may have been minor, but they didn’t care!
As long as he was punished, it was enough!
Watching him make money was more painful than losing money themselves!
It was especially unbearable when he was making money at their expense!
...
Perhaps due to Isaac’s baiting, this grand gathering lasted a bit longer than usual, going on for a full four days before ending. Unfortunately for him, his baiting scheme was shut down on the evening of the second day.
Consequently, his gains for the remainder of the time were minimal. In his view, the research topics of most Mad Witches were far too conservative. While their skills were undeniable, and many even surpassed his own level of expertise, it didn’t change the fact.
It couldn’t be helped. Their work was too conservative to suit Isaac, so he found pitifully little inspiration from it.
But it wasn’t all bad news. At the very least, stimulated by so much profane knowledge over these four days, his Demon Eye had reached its final stage. It was about to open!
At the same time, the power it possessed would finally be revealed to Isaac!
"GLUG GLUG GLUG~~"
Isaac tilted his head back and drained a bottle of Magic Potion, then closed his eyes to quietly experience the effects.
"BOOM!"
A moment later, a bizarre, seven-colored burst of Magic Power erupted from Isaac. Enveloped in this energy, he shone with a brilliant radiance like a spotlight in a nightclub—dazzling, yet sinister!
"HISS~ SIZZLE!"
After a while, Isaac’s eyes snapped open. Bathed in the sinister Magic Power, his murky yellow eyes seemed to take on a terrifying quality.
But the most frightening thing was the Demon Eye that had opened in the center of his forehead. It was stretched to its widest, the entire eyeball bulging out. Its scarlet pupil darted around ceaselessly, looking utterly curious, as if...
...it were alive, possessing a consciousness of its own!
Of course, the Demon Eye wasn’t alive. It was different from the Demon Claw. The Demon Claw was Isaac’s Magic Pet, while the Demon Eye was merely an organ.
But it did indeed possess a consciousness!
Because this Demon Eye’s name was—the Evil Third Eye!
Its effect was simple. This Demon Eye was the sight of an Evil God. It would connect to an Evil God who was interested in the Real World, serving as that God’s eye, growing on Isaac’s body to observe the world on Its behalf.
And in exchange, Isaac would be granted the right to use a portion of that Evil God’s Authority!
Without a doubt, this was an extremely dangerous Demon Eye!
This was because the communication established by the Demon Eye was not protected by the Gate of Legends, leaving open the possibility that an Evil God could exploit the connection—though such occurrences were rare.
The eye only connected to Evil Gods who were curious about the Real World. They simply enjoyed observing the world and witnessing all sorts of strange events, having little interest in descending Themselves.
Thus, They would not destroy this hard-won vessel for Their sight. In a way, Isaac, as the possessor of this Demon Eye, was a Divine Selection of an Evil God!
Of course, there are always exceptions, so Isaac’s Demon Eye remained highly dangerous.
But, as they say, fortune is born from calamity, and calamity hides within fortune. Although the Demon Eye was dangerous, the power it brought was incomparably immense!
After all, the ones with such a need were typically incredibly powerful Evil Gods—beings so mighty that merely approaching the Real World would trigger widespread chaos!
That was why these beings, grown lonely over long eons, so desperately craved "sight." Naturally, even if the Authority shared by such a powerful being was less than one-hundred-millionth of Their full power, it still possessed terrifying might!
For instance, the one Isaac was currently connected to, the one looking all around, was named the Boundless and Wondrous Master of Illusion and Reality. It wielded seven or eight Authorities, and Its Authority of Illusion and Reality was at one hundred percent!
It was an Authority completely under Its dominion!
This meant that even if Isaac could only wield a minuscule fraction of the Authority of Illusion and Reality, its might was still enough to rival an Authority!
It could even directly suppress the series of Authorities derived from the greater Authority of Illusion and Reality!
Unfortunately, this power was far too strong. Although there was almost no casting delay, the cost was enormous. With Isaac’s current Magic Power reserves, he couldn’t even manage a single full-powered attack or defense. He could only use it when his Infinite Magic Power was active.
So, after all this time, Isaac was out of mana again...
Isaac: "...Do you know any Evil Gods who have mastered the full Authority over Magic Power, or even a lesser one?"
Glancing at the eye on his forehead, Isaac asked helplessly. It couldn’t be helped; he had too many abilities. Ever since he started growing stronger, his Magic Power had never been sufficient...
The Demon Eye didn’t answer Isaac, still curiously looking around.
Of course, it wouldn’t answer. It wasn’t that It didn’t want to or couldn’t, but that It had no idea what Isaac was saying. This was only Its sight; it did not include hearing.
Naturally, for an Evil God of Its stature, a skill like lip-reading would be effortless to master, but there was no need. To a being of Its standing, nothing in this world held much meaning.
It merely wanted to see the world and satisfy Its curiosity; It had no interest in sound. And even if It did, It would simply cultivate another Divine Selection to serve as Its "hearing."
Therefore, Isaac’s question was doomed to go unanswered. Of course, Isaac had only asked casually, not actually expecting a reply.
Or rather, he already knew the answer to his own question—there were none.
Magic Power was one of the cornerstones of the Path of Wizardry. Although this cornerstone could be replaced, it was obviously a troublesome process. Therefore, Wizards would allow a lesser Authority over Magic Power to exist, as they themselves wished to use it. But the full Authority? Absolutely not. Not even one percent of it!
If one were discovered, it would be hunted down and destroyed immediately!
Unfortunately, after so many years of development among the Mad Witches, the Outer Gods who possessed an Authority over Magic Power had long since wised up. They had either paid protection fees to become legitimate, gone into hiding, or severed that Authority from themselves. As a result, there were no longer any active Outer Gods with an Authority over Magic Power.
This also meant that if Isaac wanted this Authority, he would have to wait until after he advanced to Tier Three to even begin plotting for it.
"CRACK~"
Isaac cracked his neck and walked up to a laboratory. Peering through the glass at King Yitla lying inside, the corners of his mouth lifted into a slight smile.
Now that the Demon Eye was officially open, his fusion with it had reached the final stage. When the fusion was complete, it would be time for him to perform the Evil God Ceremony and use its power to integrate his three surgical modifications.
And this last bit of fusion could be accelerated by studying the body of King Yitla.
He had always been curious about the power of a High-level Knight!
Coincidentally, Liu Li and Saint Master were just one more ceremony away from advancing to Tier Three and becoming High-level Creatures. This opportunity might just increase their chances of success.
However, just as Isaac was about to begin dissecting King Yitla’s corpse, Liu Li walked in with a letter.
"Master, a letter has arrived from Solomon Fortress. The verdict regarding your second brother, Remington, is out." Liu Li handed the letter to Isaac.
"It took this long?" Isaac raised an eyebrow as he looked at the letter in his hand. This was truly unexpected. He had assumed it was all over long ago and he just hadn’t been notified.
With that thought, Isaac opened the letter, his brow furrowing slightly as he read.
