Chapter 248: Chapter 196: The Evil 3rd Eye

On a White Jade Pillar, Isaac glanced at the Mad Witches coming and going before turning his attention back to the documents in his hand. The penalty in the White Jade Square was quite severe, so not every Mad Witch was willing to pay the price. Instead, they would leave behind some potentially viable suggestions upon exiting.

So while no Mad Witch was willing to stay for an in-depth discussion with Isaac, the suggestions they left behind were still of great benefit to him. After all, one needed a certain degree of talent to survive on the path of a Mad Witch.

Unfortunately, plotting against a True God was a huge shock for Mad Witches who were accustomed to dealing with Outer Gods. After all, unlike Outer Gods, who couldn’t exert much of their power in the Real World, True Gods could wield considerable strength. Furthermore, they usually had Churches under their command.

Some powerful True Gods even had Teaching Countries. And while the Churches of weaker True Gods weren’t particularly strong, their followers were generally very united. Barring any doctrinal conflicts, they were ridiculously good at calling for backup!

So, most of the Mad Witches who entered here still chose to pay the White Jade Square’s steep penalty.

And for Isaac, this was not good at all.

After all, these penalties were paid to the White Jade Square; Isaac wouldn’t see a dime of it. In this exchange, the White Jade Square was making a killing, while Isaac missed out on a great deal of inspiration for nothing. It was a complete ripoff!

Isaac sighed.

He had noticed that fewer and fewer Wizards were entering...

As more and more Mad Witches fell victim, the reputation of Isaac’s clickbait discussion group grew and grew. Eventually, one Mad Witch even made a separate post on a White Jade Pillar about Isaac’s group, briefly explaining the madman’s sinister intentions.

Naturally, the number of Mad Witches willing to click and enter dwindled. After all, Mad Witches might be mad, but they weren’t stupid. The Gate of Legends offered no protection from the power of a True God.

There weren’t many suggestions to begin with, and after this whole affair, there were even fewer...

"Sigh... Looks like I’ll just have to count on the Sect..." Isaac sighed. Seeing that no new Wizards had entered for some time, he logged out and disbanded the discussion group.

And by now, only about half a day had passed at the great Mad Witch assembly...

Normally, this annual gathering of Mad Witches would last for two to three days. After all, even simple discussions required a significant amount of time.

So after wandering around the White Jade Square for a bit, Isaac had another idea. He changed the title, created a new discussion group, and continued with his grand fishing operation!

After all, while his reputation as a lunatic had spread throughout the White Jade Square, the place was anonymous. People only knew there was a madman who dared to move against a True God; they didn’t know his real identity. This gave Isaac the perfect opportunity to continue fishing!

...

"Fuck! It’s this dumbass madman again! Ptooey!"

In front of a White Jade Pillar, a Mad Witch appeared, cursing up a storm. He spat on the ground under the astonished gazes of the crowd, his face dark. Just as he was about to leave, a Witch in a red Wizard Robe grabbed his arm and asked curiously, "Hey, what happened?"

The Mad Witch shot the Witch a sullen glare. Normally, given his personality, he would never have given anyone a heads-up. He’d much rather see others suffer, especially when he’d already fallen into the trap himself.

But this time was a goddamn exception!

That bastard was just too despicable!

Baiting people once wasn’t enough for him, he had to do it a second time!

The worst part was, he’d fallen for it both times!

So he would make an exception just this once, to make sure that dumbass got nothing out of it!

HISS... HAAAH... Taking two deep breaths, he calmed himself down and organized his thoughts before speaking. "That dumbass madman made another discussion group on a White Jade Pillar. It’s called ’Some Ideas for Optimizing the Ritual to Steal Divine Power.’ Sounds normal enough, right? But! The target for the theft is a goddamn True God! Fuck! That fucking idiot!"

Everyone: "..."

’This dumbass madman... it couldn’t be Isaac, could it...’ The Witch in red fell silent as she watched the fuming Mad Witch.

"That madman is back under a new name? How low can he get?"

"Fuck! It’s true! So damn despicable! This is the second time I’ve fallen for it!"

"Me too!"

"Is he really that crazy? I kind of want to take a look..."

"Fuck! He’s really scheming against a True God! What kind of dumbass is this?"

"Dammit, this bullshit White Jade... Can’t Mad Witches have a real-name policy here?"

"Would you still dare to come if it was?"

"Good point... Fuck, I’m so pissed!"

...

Listening to the crowd’s venting, the red-robed Witch—or rather, Philo—began to feel a little guilty. Although she and Isaac weren’t on the best of terms, they did have a connection, after all.

At a moment like this, she certainly couldn’t let anyone know she was acquainted with him. So, Philo joined the crowd in cursing Isaac a few times. Then again, maybe she wasn’t just "joining in"...

As she cursed him, she was marveling inwardly. ’That’s Isaac for you. True to form, the guy causes trouble wherever he goes, and his schemes just keep getting bigger. Now he’s even plotting against a True God. He’s so damn crazy!’

...

Meanwhile, Isaac was completely oblivious to all of this, basking in his success. The first round of fishing had already emptied the pockets of those Mad Witches. Few of them could afford the penalty twice, so his haul this time was, to put it mildly, excellent!

The only regrettable part was that he still hadn’t found any like-minded partners willing to join his grand undertaking. Not a single Mad Witch had been willing to stay behind for an in-depth discussion.
