Chapter 202: Chapter 160: Going All-in is an Art
Astaros was a high-ranking Demon who originally wielded both Temporal and Spatial Authority. His true form was a powerful Demon, comparable to a Deity. Though his Spatial Authority had been stolen by a Mad Witch long ago, he still stood at the pinnacle of Demonkind with only his Temporal Authority.
’Angel can actually command a Demon like that?’
Admittedly, Witches were different from other Wizards. They possessed a unique advantage when it came to commanding Demons. A select few with special abilities could even command the loyalty of an inherently chaotic Demon.
And while Angel’s Magic wasn’t specialized in this area, it was only natural for the [Original Scripture]—the highest-ranked of all Witch Magic—to have some special abilities. After all, she had already demonstrated she could command Evil Spirits.
But an Evil Spirit was nothing like Astaros!
The former couldn’t even be considered a God; at best, they just possessed bizarre abilities. To command a high-ranking Demon like Astaros...
’That woman must have a death wish!’
Isaac gave Angel a deep look, then turned and left the main hall. He needed to find a place to prepare his ritual. As for the people living in this fortress...
That had nothing to do with him; he wasn’t the one who wanted this kingdom.
He believed Philo would handle it. While that woman wasn’t quite right in the head, she was from the Royal Family—and a Royal Family at the height of its power, completely different from the decadent Nobility. She had to have some aptitude for governance.
Besides, even if Philo had no talent for governing, given the pathetic state Itra was in, simply clearing out the corrupt Nobility would be a step forward. It couldn’t possibly get any worse.
Furthermore, even if Philo couldn’t rule a kingdom, couldn’t the Terra Empire?
They could rebuild this kingdom just by throwing money at it!
Therefore, the future of this kingdom’s people was not his concern. He had no aspirations to be a King. He did pity the people of this country, but it was only pity. If he saw evildoers, he would step in and eliminate them.
Anything more...
He couldn’t save them, nor was it his place to try. Ultimately, they had to save themselves.
Sitting in the main hall, Philo watched Angel, Isaac, and Lorna depart. Her eyes were downcast, her thoughts a mystery.
...
"Yes, this place should do." After wandering around the castle, Isaac led a hesitant Lorna to a side hall. He looked at the empty walls and nodded in satisfaction.
’Empty is good. It gives me room to work.’
As he planned the layout of the ritual, Isaac glanced at the still-hesitant Lorna and said coolly, "You want to go out and help?"
"Yeah, a little." Lorna fell silent for a moment before nodding. "They’re... so pitiful... Besides, aren’t you going to sacrifice them? Is it all right if we don’t go capture anyone?"
Hearing this, Isaac smiled, glanced at the ceiling, and waved his hand dismissively. "It’s fine. Let them be. Dying at the hands of Demons isn’t much better than being sacrificed by me. Besides..."
Isaac turned back to Lorna and smiled mysteriously. "There are some things you don’t have to do yourself."
With that, he began to draw a Magic Array on the floor with crimson Demon Blood. Behind him, Lorna tilted her head, not quite understanding what Isaac meant. But it seemed her help wasn’t needed.
"If you really can’t stand it, go distribute some food to them, and maybe help treat their illnesses. They could probably use that right now." Isaac waved a hand without turning around. "Aein will go with you. And it just so happens, didn’t you want to learn Transformation Magic? This is a great chance to observe. Transformation Magic... it’s quite miraculous."
PLOOP PLOOP~ Hearing this, the transparent jellyfish on Isaac’s shoulder waved its tentacles, floated over to Lorna’s shoulder, and let out a soft cry.
Lorna looked at Aein on her shoulder, then back at Isaac, who was engrossed in drawing the Magic Array. She didn’t leave right away, instead asking, "But what about you here?"
RIP~
Isaac didn’t answer, but Harmon emerged from the nape of his neck and waved a claw at her.
HSSS~
"Uh... okay."
Lorna hadn’t been with them for long, so she couldn’t understand what Harmon was saying. But seeing the situation, she didn’t need to. Harmon had already begun to help Isaac draw the Magic Array.
So she exchanged a glance with Aein and turned to walk out of the castle. Outside, more people needed their help!
Isaac glanced at the departing Lorna and Aein, then exchanged a smile with the single eye that had split open in Harmon’s palm. He then returned to his work, engrossed in preparing the ritual.
To maximize his gains from this War, he absolutely could not wait to perform the ritual until afterward. For one, collecting corpses was inefficient; some would inevitably be missed, and other Wizards might get to them first and perform their own sacrifices. For another, the quality of the corpses would degrade over time.
Of course, there was an even more important point. Corpses were Isaac’s chosen offerings, but they weren’t the only ones. He wanted the corpses, but he wanted the Life Energy too!
He even wanted the Concepts generated by the slaughter between the Artificial Humans!
’As he’d said before, this was a huge score!’
Therefore, he needed to set up the ritual in advance, securing an absolute advantage to sweep up every last bit of sacrificial energy and every Concept within the Itra Kingdom!
Normally, a project of this magnitude would be impossible for him at his current level. The specific operations weren’t difficult, and with the aid of his Golden Finger, he was confident he could set up a ritual with very high priority.
Unfortunately, while the Itra Kingdom was a small country, that was only in comparison to the Empire. Its territory was actually quite vast—roughly the size of two provinces from his past life.
Isaac’s ritual couldn’t possibly cover such a vast area, and neither could Philo’s. This was one of the reasons why Mensa and the others resorted to collecting corpses for a centralized sacrifice.
But, as mentioned earlier, a massive Barrier currently enveloped the skies above the Itra Kingdom to ensure the "big cake" could be carved up smoothly!
This Barrier not only sealed off long-distance spatial teleportation but also locked down certain Concepts!
And this gave Isaac his inspiration. Could he incorporate the Barrier itself into his ritual?
The answer was—yes!
He didn’t need to fully integrate with it. He only needed its ability to lock down Concepts. While he was at it, he also added functions to seal and absorb Life Energy.
Once the ritual was complete, it would continuously absorb the stray corpses, Life Energy, and souls from across the entire Itra Kingdom. It would then transform them all into a tangible torrent of energy that would converge on Isaac, ready for him to sacrifice to the Master of Billions of Flesh!
Of course, even at this stage, the ritual was not yet complete. It still lacked the most critical component—one that only he was capable of providing!
Energy storage!
The energy contained within all the ordinary people and Artificial Humans of the entire Itra Kingdom was unprecedentedly powerful. It couldn’t simply be gathered; it had to be stored properly.
Otherwise, before Isaac could even make the sacrifice, the collected energy would either explode on its own or attract other, unknown Existences.
So, what was the best way to store such a colossal amount of energy?
Simple—a Dimension World!
