Chapter 193: Chapter 153: A Crazy Plan

However, compared to the bravado of Isaac and Philo, Angel was far more composed.

She agreed with Isaac’s assessment. The three of them...

’No,’ she thought, ’I should say Isaac. On a battlefield where Tier Three combatants don’t interfere, he is an invincible Existence. While Philo and I are strong, we’re little more than extras.’

Even so, only she and Isaac could accomplish their goals without a hitch. It wouldn’t be so easy for Philo to seize this Kingdom. After all, the moment the War ended, the Tier Three and higher powers from the Itra Kingdom and other factions would brazenly intervene!

They might not even wait for the War to end. The moment the powers of the Itra Kingdom discovered Philo’s scheme, they would likely intervene directly!

’The agreement?’

’That thing was meant to protect the continued existence of the Itra Kingdom. Now that the Kingdom itself is about to fall, who gives a shit about some agreement?’

And with their current strength, if they came up against a High-level Knight or a High-level Mage, the best they could do was flee—and they might not even be able to escape!

So, while Philo seemed to have revealed a great deal, she had actually omitted the most crucial piece of information—how she planned to seize this country!

"Then what’s your plan? How are you going to seize this country?" Angel’s tone was sharp.

If she was merely wary and cautious of Isaac, her feelings toward Philo were pure hatred.

If not for the fact that she was currently powerless against the Demigod backing Philo, this place would have become Philo’s grave!

Isaac glanced at the two, tension crackling between them. He chuckled, poured himself a cup of black tea, and watched them leisurely.

Isaac had, of course, considered the points Angel raised, but he wasn’t concerned. He had no interest in seizing a country. If Philo decided to share her plan, he might lend a hand, depending on the situation.

And if she didn’t...

’Then it would have even less to do with me,’ Isaac thought. ’If the Itra Royal Family attacks, I’ll be the first to surrender!’

And if they didn’t attack beforehand, he would just grab the Kaleidoscope and leave. The rest would have nothing to do with him.

So, Isaac couldn’t care less what Philo’s plan was. In the current situation, she would never dare make a move against him—not unless she was absolutely certain she could kill him.

This had nothing to do with her personal will; the Terra Royal Family would never let her make such a move.

Otherwise, wouldn’t the ten million Gold Coins and the Mage Tower currently under construction all be for naught?

And on top of that, they would offend the Border Nobility at such a critical moment.

"Tsk."

Philo shot a sideways glance at Isaac, who was enjoying the show, and pouted. Frankly, she didn’t want to reveal her plan, because she trusted neither Isaac nor Angel.

’As for that guy Isaac,’ she thought, ’if I want his help, I’d probably have to bleed a little more. What’s more, the specific details of this plan must not get back to the Border Nobility behind him. This is one of the preparations the Terra Royal Family has made to deal with the Emperor’s death.’

As for Angel, Philo was simply worried she would sabotage her plan—and Angel definitely had the power to do so!

Philo had once tried to seize Angel’s Original Scripture, so she knew the power of the Chronicles of Time all too well!

The Chronicles of Time possessed the terrifying ability to alter the past and the future!

As for its ability to alter the past, no one knew how it truly worked because it overwrote the memories of the Caster as well.

But when it came to altering the future, there were some theories.

Essentially, the method the Chronicles of Time used to alter the future was similar to precognition. The difference was that the scenes one saw through precognition were random and uncontrollable; you couldn’t decide what you would see.

The precognition granted by the Chronicles of Time, however, allowed one to pick out the exact future they wanted to see from an infinite number of possibilities, and then use the power of destiny to anchor it in place.

And that was what made the Chronicles of Time so terrifying. Even if you knew exactly how the ability worked, you couldn’t defend against it. You couldn’t even put up a guard. Your only hope was that Angel would show mercy...

The feeling of having one’s fate in another’s hands was not a pleasant one. It was unacceptable.

But not telling them...

’That wouldn’t work either,’ she thought. ’Keeping Angel in the dark about the details would only make it harder for her to ruin my plan, not impossible.’

After all, just because the Angel of the present couldn’t do it didn’t mean the Angel of the future couldn’t.

’Time Power is so damn annoying!’

"Tsk!" At this thought, Philo shot another dissatisfied glare at Isaac. ’We’re both from the Empire, yet he’s just sitting there enjoying the show. The nerve!’

How infuriating!

"Don’t look at me. You two talk it out. It makes no difference to me," Isaac said with a chuckle as Philo glared at him for a second time. He took a sip of his tea, showing no intention of intervening.

Of course, in truth, he also wanted to know just how Philo planned to occupy the Itra Kingdom. ’She can’t just be planning to have the Empire’s powerhouses suppress Itra’s, can she?’

That would provoke widespread outrage. The Terra Empire was facing an urgent situation, but it wasn’t so desperate that it needed to risk everything on a single gamble.

Philo’s standoff with Angel lasted only a few seconds before she sighed, preparing to reveal her plan.

She really had no choice. After all, the decision to sabotage the plan or not rested entirely with Angel; the initiative was not in Philo’s hands. And while doing so would mean making a mortal enemy of the Terra Empire, would Angel, a Witch, really be scared of that?

’So the most pressing matter now,’ she thought, ’is to drag the other lunatic Angel is so wary of into this plan...’

With that thought, Philo glanced at Isaac again. Meeting his confused gaze, she let out another long, soft sigh.
