Chapter 1219: Chapter 1219: A Stranger Woman

The chicken drumstick smells amazing, its aroma drilling into her nose in waves, simply the most fragrant and enticing of all the drumsticks she’s ever smelled.

The golden chicken skin shines with an enticing gloss under the sunlight, looking incredibly tender and soft; freshly roasted, the drumstick still has droplets of oil sizzling on the surface.

Scarlett Yates could no longer resist the temptation, opened her mouth, and took a big bite of that drumstick...

But with this bite, the scrumptious-smelling drumstick turned out to be not tasty at all.

Not only was it not tasty, the flavor was quite strange, with no meaty taste at all, as if she was chewing on a piece of cloth.

When Scarlett Yates awoke from the dream, she realized she really had a piece of cloth in her mouth.

In the dream, she was gnawing on a big drumstick, but upon waking, she had pulled a corner of the quilt into her mouth; no wonder she found that drumstick inedible.

Thinking about that dream, Scarlett Yates was somewhat exasperated with herself.

She felt she was really quite hopeless; instead of dreaming that Matthew Saxon bought her luxury cars and villas, jewelry and ornaments, she dreamt he took her on a food binge.

Moreover, her wish surprisingly was for Matthew Saxon to take her to savor dishes worldwide.

But thinking of the big drumstick in the dream and those dazzling delicacies, she indeed felt a bit hungry.

While she was reminiscing about that aroma-filled dream, she suddenly felt someone watching her.

The gaze was intense enough that she couldn’t simply ignore it.

When Scarlett Yates raised her head in the direction of that gaze, she met those long, deep phoenix eyes.

Those eyes were set on a very handsome face, the same handsome face that had been hovering in Scarlett Yates’s dream all night.

For a moment they locked eyes, Scarlett Yates was startled, taken aback, and then her face broke into a smile of joy as she lifted the quilt and sprang from the sofa.

"You’re awake!" She exclaimed happily, and ran to the bedside full of cheer.

The lights in the room were still on, while it was still dark outside; it seemed there was still some time before dawn.

Yes, Matthew Saxon woke up at three thirty in the morning.

Nature calls, and he was not exempt; he was woken from it.

Upon waking, he saw not the little nurse from before, but a stranger’s face.

He disliked having others in the room while he slept, so he had already mentioned to the nurse not to stay in the room when he was asleep.

Yet unexpectedly, upon opening his eyes, he saw someone lying on the opposite sofa.

And, it was a woman he did not know.

The woman was completely wrapped in the quilt, facing him, muttering something in her sleep; he couldn’t tell what she dreamt, but suddenly she shoved a corner of the quilt into her mouth and chewed twice.

Probably finding the taste unappealing, she wrinkled her brow after two chews.

That tiny face, no bigger than a palm, scrunched up like a dumpling.

Seeing a strange woman lying in his room, Matthew Saxon was already quite displeased, and seeing that woman shoving the quilt into her mouth, his brows furrowed even more.

Who was this dirty woman, anyway?

He was just about to ring the nurse to find out, when the woman on the sofa awoke.

Author’s note: The male protagonist will not really lose his memory! Everyone need not worry about that.
