Chapter 1218: Chapter 1218: You Really Are the Best Man in the World

To let some air into the room, the window was opened just a small crack to facilitate the circulation of air inside and outside.

Downstairs, who knows what kind of flowers were planted, but their rich fragrance seeped through that tiny opening, and soon, every corner of the room was filled with this scent.

Although the fragrance was strong, it wasn’t unpleasant.

Moonlight spilled onto the windowsill, a light layer of silver, like a sheet of gossamer had fallen.

The room was very quiet.

Quiet enough that Scarlett Yates could clearly hear Matthew Saxon’s gentle breathing, along with the sound of her own heartbeat.

The hospital room had two bedrooms, but Scarlett didn’t plan to sleep in the other one. Matthew Saxon’s room had a sofa, wide enough to lie down on, and she planned to make do on the sofa for the night.

This way, if Matthew made any sound, she could hear it.

The main reason was that she couldn’t bear to leave. Even though it was just a wall separating them, she preferred being in the same room with him, being able to see him the moment she opened her eyes, which put her more at ease.

In fact, the hospital bed was quite large, easily enough for two people, but Scarlett knew her sleeping habits were never great. She was prone to kicking off the blanket in her sleep and worried she might accidentally hurt Matthew.

His leg was still in a thick cast, and if she happened to kick him, that would be disastrous.

Having made up her mind, Scarlett took a blanket from the cabinet and, after washing up, wrapped herself in it and fell asleep on the sofa.

She slept very soundly.

From Y Country to A Country, it was about twenty hours of flight time. Naturally, she couldn’t sleep well on the plane, and after landing, she hadn’t rested much, so once she lay down, it took less than five minutes with her eyes closed before she was asleep.

The thing that worried her most, weighing heavily on her mind, had been set aside. Relieved of this burden, her sleep was sweet and peaceful.

Even her dreams were blissful.

In the dream, Matthew Saxon took her to a restaurant filled with all kinds of delicious food, all her favorites like spicy hot pot, aromatic grilled fish, and many lobsters as big as her arms, and crabs as large as washbasins.

Countless delicacies were laid out before her, a variety so vast it made her dizzy.

Her eyes sparkled with delight, drooling as she looked around, as happy as a lively little squirrel: "Matthew Saxon, can I eat everything here? It all looks so good."

In the dream, Matthew gazed at her with such tenderness, his indulgence could drown her. He patted her head and said with grand generosity, "Eat whatever you like. In the future, I will take you around to taste all the world’s delicacies, making you the happiest woman on earth."

She was overjoyed, her face blooming with happiness at the thought of tasting every treat under the sky. She stood on tiptoe and gave Matthew a big kiss on the cheek, sweetly calling out, "Honey, you’re so good to me. You truly are the best man in the world."

"Of course." Matthew wore a proud look, lifted his chin, pinched her cheek, and with an outstretched hand, fed her a chicken leg as big as half an arm, "Apart from me, there’s no one else who will treat you this well in this world. Here, try this Imperial Fried Chicken Leg; doesn’t it have a special sweet taste? Does it make you feel happily overwhelmed with tears?"
