Chapter 807: Chapter 806: Believing in Your Abilities
"Yu Han, don’t take it to heart," Liu Zheng’s father, Ye Tianqi, stood up and then walked over to Song Yuhan’s side.
"Uncle, I just feel that I’m not capable of inheriting the Ye Corporation, I believe Liu Zheng has his own abilities, he’s more suitable to be the president than me."
"Yu Han, you’re misunderstanding, Dad didn’t mean that. Dad knows you’re not the kind of girl who can’t grasp the situation. It’s just that we love you too much, so we’ve spoken without thinking. I hope you can understand," Ye Tianqi sincerely explained.
Song Yuhan’s lips quivered slightly, but in the end, she said nothing.
Song Yuhan left the Ye Family, and Liu Zheng talked with President Ye in the study.
Half an hour later, Liu Zheng came out, and he looked at Song Yuhan waiting at the door.
"Let’s go."
Song Yuhan looked up, "Where to?"
"To eat."
"I’m not in the mood," Song Yuhan said indifferently with a glance at Liu Zheng, then turned and walked towards her bedroom, shutting herself inside.
Seeing this, Liu Zheng’s face instantly darkened. How dare this stubborn girl refuse him!
However, he did not lose his temper. Instead, he was silent for a moment, and then he walked towards Song Yuhan’s room.
"Bang!" Song Yuhan’s door was slammed shut with force, and her heart trembled with it.
She clenched her teeth and struck the wall.
This man was just too overbearing!
Song Yuhan’s mind suddenly conjured up his image.
His gaze, his smile, the tone of his voice when he spoke...
Her ears instantly flushed red, then she quickly closed her eyes, desperately trying to control her emotions.
She must be crazy to think he looked like Liu Zheng!
Her head must be messed up!
Song Yuhan was extremely annoyed. She hit her own head, "Song Yuhan, snap out of it, stop dreaming!"
However, Liu Zheng’s image still appeared in her mind, making her feel like she was about to break down.
Song Yuhan abruptly opened her eyes, took a deep breath, calmed her restless heart, and then got out of bed and left the bedroom.
Liu Zheng’s bedroom was separated from Song Yuhan’s by a door. She walked to the door and knocked.
"Who is it?"
Liu Zheng’s lazy voice came from the other side.
"It’s me."
"Come in."
Song Yuhan pushed the door open and walked in. The room’s arrangement hadn’t changed much from before; it was still so luxurious and extravagant. Yet looking at it, she didn’t feel the slightest warmth, only more frustration and disgust.
She went to the wardrobe and took her clothes out piece by piece, placing them on the bed, then she took out a nightgown and put it on.
However, it wasn’t until she went to the bathroom to wash up that she realized there were men’s products here, too.
Song Yuhan paused, her gaze lingering on the mirror in the bathroom, then a bittersweet smile appeared on her face.
What was wrong with her, to be so sensitive!
Song Yuhan mocked herself inwardly, then took off the robe and went to the dressing room to fetch her own clothing.
This room belonged to Liu Zheng; she shouldn’t stay here.
"Knock knock knock!" The sudden knocking interrupted Song Yuhan’s thoughts.
"Yu Han, may I come in?" Liu Zheng’s voice reached her ears, "You’ve been inside for a long time."
Song Yuhan clenched her teeth; she didn’t answer Liu Zheng’s question.
"Yu Han, I know you’re angry. I know what I said earlier was a bit excessive. I apologize to you," Liu Zheng’s voice sounded again.
"President Ye, please step aside."
"Yu Han..."
Song Yuhan coldly pushed him away.
"Yu Han, don’t go, let me stay with you," Liu Zheng reached out and grabbed Song Yuhan’s arm.
Song Yuhan struggled fiercely twice but couldn’t break free from Liu Zheng’s grip.
"Yu Han..."
"Liu Zheng, please, let go of me," Song Yuhan pleaded in her tone.
Liu Zheng was taken aback for a moment, a flash of pain crossing his eyes.
"Yu Han..."
"President Ye, I’m already married," Song Yuhan’s expression was exceptionally determined, "and besides, you should know that I don’t like you."
"I know..." Liu Zheng’s voice was filled with helplessness, "I just want to protect you, I..."
"But that’s not a reason," Song Yuhan’s tone became chilling.
"I can wait for you."
"You know I don’t need that."
"I know."
Song Yuhan snorted coldly, and with a fierce throw, she hurled the robe in her hand at Liu Zheng’s face and then turned to leave the room.
Liu Zheng watched the robe shattered on the floor, his gaze full of sorrow as he stared at Song Yuhan’s retreating figure.
What on earth should he do with this woman!
After Song Yuhan returned to her room, she slumped onto the bed, her complexion ashen.
Her chest heaved violently, her breathing was rushed, and tears swirled in her eyes.
No, she absolutely couldn’t fall into this trap. Liu Zheng didn’t love her, even with so many memories, but still, she couldn’t forget Liu Zheng.
"Ding dong."
The sound of the doorbell cut through the air, startling Song Yuhan out of her grief.
She wiped away the tears from her eyes and then got out of bed to open the door.
Upon opening the door, she found Liu Zheng standing there with breakfast in hand.
Song Yuhan looked at the food in his hands, her eyes narrowing slightly without saying a word.
"Eat it while it’s hot," Liu Zheng said with a gentle smile.
Song Yuhan looked at the breakfast in his hands and couldn’t help but frown.
"I’m not hungry. If there’s nothing else, I’m going home now."
"Okay," Liu Zheng nodded.
After packing a few items of clothing, Song Yuhan prepared to leave, but as she passed the kitchen, she couldn’t help but stop to take a closer look.
"This chef is really meticulous," Song Yuhan muttered to herself.
Though the chef had prepared only two breakfasts, one of which was already eaten by Liu Zheng, the remaining one was elaborate and bountiful.
"Liu Zheng, what exactly do you want!" Song Yuhan glared at him with some anger, "If you care about me so much, why won’t you let me go?"
"Yu Han, I just want to take care of you. I would never force you to do anything you don’t want to."
"Heh, is that so? Is that an excuse?"
"Yu Han..."
Song Yuhan scoffed and walked over to the living room to turn on the television.
Her heart sank as she watched the news on TV.
Liu Zheng was publicly declaring his marriage to Tang Wanyu on the screen; he announced to the media the wedding date, which was in two months—meaning his wedding with Tang Wanyu was next month.
"I won’t wish you happiness," Song Yuhan murmured to herself.
"Yu Han, I love you," Liu Zheng called out softly.
Song Yuhan’s gaze froze; she hadn’t expected Liu Zheng to say such a thing.
She felt a mix of emotions, her heart a tumultuous mess.
That phrase, she’d heard it before, even fantasized about it, but hearing it from Liu Zheng now made her so distressed.
"Yu Han, I love you," Liu Zheng repeated, his voice deeper this time.
"Enough!" Song Yuhan cut him off.
She didn’t want to hear it anymore!
She couldn’t listen to it anymore!
"Yu Han, listen to me," Liu Zheng continued to speak.
"Liu Zheng, I’m begging you, please stop pestering me, okay?"
Song Yuhan’s voice was soft, suffused with deep sorrow.
Liu Zheng looked into Song Yuhan’s reddened eyes and suddenly felt a pang of pain in his heart.
"Yu Han, can’t we start over? Please?" There was a hint of longing in his eyes.
Song Yuhan laughed coldly: "President Ye, are you playing games with me?"
