Chapter 516: Chapter 515 Acceptance
Liu Zheng, upon hearing the words, nearly vomited blood. This young policeman was truly despicable—nothing short of a hooligan and thug.
However, considering he had already fallen into the enemy’s hands, it was difficult to expect to get anything out of him.
Liu Zheng sighed and said, "Fine, since it’s like this, I’ll just accept my fate."
Zhou Deming was infuriated by Liu Zheng’s nonchalant expression—an expression like a pig not afraid of boiling water. He grabbed the collar of Liu Zheng’s chest and cursed angrily, "Damn it, you son of a bitch, how dare you talk to me with that tone!"
"Let go," Liu Zheng frowned and said.
"I won’t," Zhou Deming gave a cold laugh.
Liu Zheng snorted coldly and said, "Zhou Deming, don’t push me."
"You’re threatening me?" Zhou Deming shouted angrily.
"Yes, I’m threatening you. Do you dare to hit me?" Liu Zheng taunted.
At that moment, Liu Zheng was filled with indignation. He had never thought that he would fall to such a state one day.
Liu Zheng’s provocation had its effect. Zhou Deming’s fist clenched, but in the end, he released his grip.
"Liu Zheng, you little bastard, don’t be too smug! One day, I’ll make you kneel on the ground and beg me," Zhou Deming said through gritted teeth.
"I’m waiting for that day," Liu Zheng said.
"Fine, you just wait!" Having said that, Zhou Deming turned and left.
Liu Zheng watched with a cold gaze as Zhou Deming and his men left, his eyes flickering with complex emotions.
Liu Zheng understood Zhou Deming’s words loud and clear; Zhou Deming wanted to use him to find the mastermind behind the scenes and to help them with their work.
But Liu Zheng didn’t want to get involved. Despite the temptation Zhou Deming presented, he still refused because he didn’t want to be the scapegoat.
However, just because Liu Zheng didn’t want to be the scapegoat didn’t mean those who were after him wouldn’t find him. When that time came, it would still be difficult for Liu Zheng to escape unscathed.
Liu Zheng sat in the chair, looking at the handcuffs, feeling extremely frustrated. He was now unable to leave this place, and the guy named Zhou Deming was no ordinary person. He not only had significant strength, but was also a high-ranking inspector at the police station.
If Zhou Deming really wanted to harm him, there would be no escape for him. But why would he give up such a prime opportunity?
All of this was bizarre, and Liu Zheng couldn’t figure it out.
Thinking made no sense, so he didn’t bother thinking anymore.
...
The next day, like the corpses of those criminals from the night before, Liu Zheng was thrown into the river. As for who the murderer was, no one knew for now. After all, there were rumors in the underworld that Liu Zheng and Zhou Deming were friends, so Zhou Deming did not want to take the responsibility.
Liu Zheng had been in the police station for four days. During those four days, he suffered constant torture. He was beaten every day, but he dared not complain. He had to maintain his physical and mental strength; otherwise, he could very well end up killed in the interrogation room.
During those four days, Liu Zheng endured many tortures, his body bruised and battered, a sorry sight to see.
"Zhou Deming," Liu Zheng said to the middle-aged man in front of him, "Let’s talk."
Zhou Deming sneered and replied, "Talk about what? Just say what you want to say."
"If you don’t want to admit it, I can’t force you, but I still want to tell you, don’t push your luck. I, Liu Zheng, am not so easily bullied!" Liu Zheng said coldly.
Zhou Deming looked at him, then suddenly burst into loud laughter. After laughing for a while, he stopped and stared at Liu Zheng, saying, "Liu Zheng, you’re dead this time! Don’t worry, we won’t let you die so easily. We’re going to torture you slowly to death!"
After speaking, Zhou Deming clapped his hands, and a group of men in suits came in from outside. Their presence made Liu Zheng shiver, as if what he was facing were not ordinary people, but a pack of devils.
"How about now, are you scared?" Zhou Deming sneered, "This is what happens when you cross me. Now, let’s begin."
"You dare?" Liu Zheng shouted angrily, "I’m the son of the mayor!"
Zhou Deming snorted coldly and said, "I don’t care who you are. Right now, you’re fish on my chopping board."
"You dare?" Liu Zheng snorted coldly.
"What wouldn’t I dare? I’m telling you, the suffering you experience here today, you’ll pay back a thousandfold, ten thousandfold tomorrow!" Zhou Deming said with a ferocious look, "Don’t believe me? Just try!"
Having said that, Zhou Deming waved his hand, and a group of people pounced towards Liu Zheng.
Watching the crowd lunging at him, Liu Zheng’s pupils shrank slightly. He knew he was inescapable today, but he was not the least bit afraid, for he was the mayor of Huaxia, and though these people were strong, they were but ordinary people; how could they possibly harm him?
Still, Liu Zheng had his concerns, so he just stood still, quietly waiting for the attacks to come.
"Slap!"
A loud slap rang out as Zhou Deming fiercely slapped it across Liu Zheng’s face.
Liu Zheng staggered back two steps, with fresh red blood immediately spilling from the corner of his mouth.
That was the result of Liu Zheng’s endurance; otherwise, Zhou Deming would have hit him even harder.
Zhou Deming snorted coldly, "Now, continue to beat him! Beat him mercilessly until he begs for mercy, understand?"
"Yes!" the crowd responded.
"What do you want?" Liu Zheng cried out in alarm, sensing Zhou Deming’s ill intent; how could he not guess it?
Zhou Deming sneered, "You know exactly what I want, Liu Zheng. You like to chase women, don’t you? Well, today, I’ll let you truly savor the taste of a woman, make you desire heaven and death!"
"Beast," Liu Zheng roared furiously, charging towards Zhou Deming, trying to stop the crowd’s violence.
Upon seeing this, Zhou Deming immediately ordered his men to intercept Liu Zheng.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Liu Zheng was held to the ground by several men and continuously suffered punches and kicks, feeling as if his ribs were about to break.
"Damn it, beat him to death! Beat him to death!" Zhou Deming bellowed hysterically, completely losing his mind.
"Bang!"
"Bang! Bang!"
"Bang!"
Fist after fist heavily struck Liu Zheng’s body.
Liu Zheng felt as if his bones were about to fall apart, his mouth constantly brimming with fresh blood.
"Stop! You sons of bitches, I am the son of the mayor!" Liu Zheng yelled loudly.
"So what if you’re the son of the mayor? You still get beaten all the same," Zhou Deming said with a sneer.
"Bang!"
Another punch landed on Liu Zheng’s shoulder, immediately causing him to inhale sharply from the pain.
"You... you dare to hit me?!" Liu Zheng glared at Zhou Deming.
"Why wouldn’t I dare to hit you? Let me tell you, Liu Zheng, not just because you are the son of the mayor. Even if your father were here, I would still dare to beat his son, to let him know what happens when you offend Zhou Deming," Zhou Deming snorted coldly: "Beat him viciously until he begs for mercy!"
Zhou Deming’s entourage advanced and began to punch and kick Liu Zheng.
"Stop!"
"Stop!"
Suddenly, two voices came from outside the door.
Liu Zheng, hearing these voices, was momentarily stunned.
Liu Zheng looked towards the entrance, only to see Wang Hai, Wang Zhijun, and Li Xiaolong walking in.
Zhou Deming looked at the three and sneered, "You’ve arrived just in time; this time, I want to see which blind fool dares to ruin my plans."
"Young Master Liu," Wang Hai hurried to Liu Zheng’s side, saying, "Please leave first; I can handle this."
Zhou Deming glanced at Wang Hai and asked, "Young Master Wang, what do you mean by this?"
