Chapter 1548: Chapter 944: Cradle of Chaos (Part 2)
"Does this straightforward attack trajectory really think it can hit us?"
Temude and his team didn’t feel any pressure, and each one started moving apart swiftly.
Tentacles slammed heavily onto the ground, but no one was injured. Their skills were far beyond being hurt by such direct attacks.
Those fireballs with tracking abilities were even less of a concern. Temude and his team had once spent time in the Sain Dungeon invading, trained under numerous invasive attackers using magic attacks like the Radiant Sword Round Formation with similar tracking functions. Dodging these current fireballs was effortless for them.
As the tentacles smashed the ground, they split into even more slender appendages attacking the group, but this maneuver seemed like a deliberate vulnerability in their eyes.
This was because the dispersed tentacles had become noticeably more fragile, perfectly suitable for slicing with the Shattered Star Greatsword!
"Gravity!"
"Lion Slash!"
One warrior used the Gravity Combat Skill to pull and gather the scattered tentacles toward him, while the warrior beside him swiftly and cleanly cut them all apart with a Lion Slash!
Perfect cooperation!
"Well done, let me have a go too!"
Temude slammed his weapon into the ground, his entire body suddenly enveloped by an illusory and mysterious purple Gravity Lightning, using a Gravity Spin to charge forward at the tentacle giant hand, twisting and shattering all the tentacles in contact.
Though Gravity Spin is generally not applicable to weapons like greatswords, Temude had mastered this skill and wielded it as he pleased, at most facing reduced power due to the mismatch of weapon and skill characteristics.
Having good learning talent allows greater freedom in combat choices.
"Hoh hoh ha hey!"
Some warriors wielded dual swords with movements similar to the Living Corpse Sword Saint, while some roared loudly, entering the Frenzy State with an attack style reminiscent of Latan. Others retrieved the Lion Great Bow, directly aiming at what seemed to be the weak point of the Chaos Breeding Ground—the twisted humanoid upper body.
The arrow imbued with Gravity Lightning shot toward the upper body, instantly shredding the humanoid shoulder—effectively potent!
Yet, such injury seemed to have no impact on the Chaos Breeding Ground. A mass of tentacles surged toward the humanoid form, restoring all damages in the blink of an eye.
Not only did the humanoid’s damages heal, but also the tentacles previously sliced and shredded by the warriors fully regenerated; the Chaos Breeding Ground now appeared as unblemished as ever.
Masses of tentacles continued to launch fierce smashes towards the warriors, with some already ignited by Chaos Flame, enhancing their lethality.
The entire battleground trembled due to its unrestrained combat stance, with cracks appearing on the floor tiles, revealing the dark abyss below, its depth unknown.
"Plant-like enemies just regenerate quickly; let’s keep trying until it can’t take anymore."
Temude and his team saw nothing unusual about the scene before them; in this world, almost all powerful plant-type monsters possessed such rapid regeneration. Quickly regenerating injured parts often gave an intimidating intact appearance, but in reality, each regeneration weakened the monster itself.
At times like this, we just need to keep attacking until the opponent’s stamina can no longer sustain it!
Thus, the warriors executed a combined ultimate skill.
As the Chaos Breeding Ground’s tentacles once again smashed down on them, they precisely dodged, avoiding the attacks while staying close to the monster.
Then, everyone simultaneously roared out loud.
The fifteen Berserkers on-site simultaneously executed the combat skill "Summoning Star!"
The strong gravitational pull violently dragged the tentacles toward them before they could rise again, straightening the previously twisted tentacles. The slightly smaller tentacles instantly snapped.
Moments later, thirty Shattered Star Greatswords wrapped in Gravity Lightning were hurled fiercely at the Chaos Breeding Ground!
"Boom!"
The scattered explosion of gravity became increasingly violent upon interaction, breaking from controlled semi-circular diffusion, and arrogantly pulling apart everything it touched in all directions.
The entire battleground trembled severely, worsening the cracks in the floor.
The dragged tentacles occupied about half of Chaos Breeding Ground’s body, and when shattered into fragments smaller than human fingers, debris and unidentified liquids flew across the entire venue, and the Chaos Flame adhered to the tentacles vanished along with it.
"How does that strike fare?"
Temude wiped the sweat off his brow, the red hair on his helmet seeming to sense the wearer’s emotions, and wildness ensued.
Releasing Summoning Star collectively caused a Gravity Torrent powerful enough to instantly kill half of the Deep Bishop Group; when it came to attack potency, they never fell behind.
Even a plant monster with exceptional restore capabilities wouldn’t recover quickly from such damage...
Accompanying the gaze at Chaos Breeding Ground, Temude’s smile gradually faded, replaced by an increasingly serious expression.
Before their eyes, Chaos Breeding Ground regrew the tentacles broken in half completely anew.
The speed of growth didn’t falter, the quality of growth hadn’t decreased; in fact, the newly grown tentacles seemed sturdier and more powerful.
Most critically, from their perception, Chaos Breeding Ground’s momentum showed no sign of diminishing, indicating that limb regeneration consumes minimal stamina for it!
"What’s going on," the warriors expressed seriousness; "Do we have to do it again?"
Their stamina wasn’t limitless. Summoning Star of such a level demanded significant consumption of Fighting Qi and Magic Power; they couldn’t sustain many releases.
What’s daunting wasn’t the consumption of combat skill but receiving no positive feedback after exhaustive effort.
The mystery remained of how many times Chaos Breeding Ground could regenerate; drenched in exhaustion with no means to kill wouldn’t make them more than lambs led to slaughter.
"Try attacking what appears to be its weak spot; that seems the only option."
Thus, the team’s target shifted toward... the twisted humanoid upper body.
It seemed aside from spewing flames and furious tentacle slashes, the Chaos Breeding Ground wielded no other moves. The team dodged every attack as they sought opportunity and awaited the moment when numerous tentacles intertwined and struck down.
Two warriors used Summoning Star to suppress these tentacles firmly to the ground. Temude bravely advanced on this "path," rushing toward Chaos Breeding Ground alongside the others.
The twisted humanoid swayed the blazing flames behind, fanning the ferocious blaze straight at them!
With arms raised, they charged through the flames, entirely disregarding possible burns, finally reaching the humanoid front, wielding the Shattered Star Greatsword like a butcher’s knife, chopping the humanoid to pieces!
Yet, no effect!
The twisted humanoid instantly restored its initial form, and the Chaos Breeding Ground’s core intensely trembled, unleashing powerful force, sending everyone on it crashing down.
"Damn it, is there no other way?"
Why are our attacks ineffective?
Temude discovered his descent aimed directly at one area engulfed by flames among the branches. Knowing those flames harbored greater power, he summoned courage for one last fight, spinning mid-air and slashing at the flame with Lion Slash.
Shockingly, the process encountered little to no hindrance.
"Boom!"
Temude’s dual swords instantly destroyed the flame!
"Wait, is it really that simple?"
