Chapter 21 - Start Next Stage Training

Mo Yanyu prepared dinner for both of them, and they ate together. Yang Hao noticed that she was using her Dark Element hands to eat. She wore a cloak that concealed her entire body from the neck down. Even when she moved, the cloak hung loosely, yet it revealed nothing underneath.

"Is something wrong with your body?" Yang Hao asked.

Mo Yanyu nodded. "Yes. But once I get stronger, this problem will resolve itself. So don't worry."

Yang Hao nodded but remained curious. In his mind, he reached out to Yu Ruyi and Navrita. They told him that the dark cloak she wore was a high-level artifact, one even they couldn't see through. Of course, their current weakened state also played a role in that.

Regardless, Yang Hao understood that he couldn't help Mo Yanyu with her problem. But knowing her, she would find a way on her own.

After dinner, Yang Hao's father arrived. He looked exhausted from all the work he had to do, and there was sorrow in his eyes. The deaths of all the mortals weighed heavily on him. He had once hoped that under his rule, every mortal would live a peaceful life. Instead, they had all perished.

Still, he put on a composed expression as he greeted Mo Yanyu. Despite his grief, he was pleased that his son had a powerful fiancée. He could sense the strength within her, and it reassured him. I just hope my son grows strong enough so he won't become a burden to her. He thought.

After a brief conversation, he turned to Yang Hao. "Tomorrow, all your siblings will go out to help clean up the province. You should stay home and focus on your training—you're still too weak."

Yang Hao didn't argue and simply nodded.

After his father left, Mo Yanyu stood up and stretched. "I'll be sleeping in a separate room. If you ever... you know..." Her face reddened slightly. "Just wait a few years."

Before Yang Hao could respond, she hurried off to her room.

Yang Hao smirked, shaking his head. Does my face really look like I was thinking about that? He hadn't even considered it.

He went his room and lay back on his bed, relieved to be sleeping separately. This way, he wouldn't have trouble giving his lifespan to Yu Ruyi.

The king had sent a request to the Immortal Sects, asking them to investigate the situation in West Province. However, the response he received was unexpected. The sects replied that there were already individuals within the kingdom handling the matter.

The king was confused but had no choice but to trust them. Whoever these people were, he could only hope they would take care of the situation.

Seventeen days had passed since the incident.

The strongest clans of the Southern Kingdom—the Han Clan, Mo Clan, and the elite forces of the South and North Provinces—had sent their most skilled warriors to investigate. Leading them were the four generals of the Southern Kingdom.

Their journey had begun, and in three days, they would reach West Province.

Among the Han Clan's representatives was Han Tianxue. She wasn't originally supposed to go, but she had hit a bottleneck in her cultivation. No matter what she did, she couldn't break through. Hoping that a life-or-death encounter might push her past her limits, she decided to join the expedition.

Unknown to her, Han Tianming had secretly followed her.

His concern for his sister outweighed his clan's orders. While the incident in West Province hadn't affected Mortal Elementals, there was no guarantee that something dangerous wasn't lurking there.

Han Tianming wasn't willing to take that risk.

As he followed his sister's group into a town, his eyes landed on a simple dog-shaped mask being sold by a vendor. Without hesitation, he bought it and put it on. If I'm going to follow her, I need to hide my identity.

While the investigation teams made their way to West Province, Yang Hao and Mo Yanyu spent their days together, talking about their past experiences, their future goals, and simply enjoying each other's company. Yang Hao also learn that someone was spying on them from Yu Ruyi. Mo Yanyu told him about a mature woman in hood, the person that spying on him would be this woman.

However, few days were enough.

After that, they focused on cultivation.

Yang Hao had already reached the limit of the tendon-tempering stage. He couldn't progress any further unless he moved on to the next phase—bone tempering.

To advance, he needed to use Yin and Yang Elements to refine his bones, making them stronger and more suitable for storing elemental energy.

Yang Hao was eager to begin.

That night, in his room, Yu Ruyi came out and began instructing him on the Yin Method of Bone Tempering.

"Currently, Dark and Ice Elements are in abundance," Yu Ruyi explained. "Devils primarily use Yin-based elements, and the ones that arrived in this world were mostly Dark and Ice Element users. Their presence has saturated the environment with these energies."

Yang Hao listened carefully.

"This means you should start with the Yin Method. The surrounding energy will help accelerate your bone tempering."

Yang Hao didn't hesitate. Normally, it would take him three months to temper his bones. But with the current environment, the resources his father had prepared, and Yu Ruyi's special bathwater and powder recipes, he could complete the Yin Method Bone Tempering in just one month. After all, since every mortals died, all herbs were now Yang Clan's, not only that but they also found some special herbs hidden by mortals.

Excitement surged within him.

Without wasting another moment, he began his training.
