Chapter 614: Chapter 613: Reunion (9)

The familiar scent enveloped her from behind, making Bella Acker’s heart tremble.

Five years have passed, and she thought she had long forgotten his scent. But as his scent enveloped her, she realized clearly.

Some things engraved deep in the bones can never be forgotten.

Bella Acker forced herself to maintain a calm and composed appearance.

"Mr. Sinclair, do you have any matters to discuss?" Bella Acker did not turn around because she feared showing the weakness in her eyes if she did.

Damian Sinclair trapped her between his chest and the door, but remained silent, making no further move.

Bella Acker listened to his breath lingering by her ear, her hair standing on end.

Damian Sinclair saw the goosebumps slowly emerging on her neck, his cold and violent gaze somewhat softened, and he hoarsely said, "You’re still ticklish here."

Five years have passed, some things have changed, while others have not.

Damian Sinclair looked at her neck, and impulsively leaned forward to kiss it.

Bella Acker stiffened, abruptly turned around to face him.

Their eyes met, and Damian Sinclair was stunned. His fingers pressed on the door started to turn white from exertion.

Damian Sinclair looked into her eyes, neither spoke.

Bella Acker struggled to remain calm outwardly, but her heart beat rapidly, almost bursting out.

She clenched her fist tightly to prevent herself from losing composure.

After a while, Damian Sinclair spoke, "At the airport, the little girl standing beside you, is she your daughter?"

Bella Acker’s heart tightened, "Yes. She’s three this year."

Three years old, so she got married three years ago to someone else? At that time, he was lying in a hospital bed, unconscious and unaware, while she, upon hearing the news, never showed up, busy marrying someone else.

Damian Sinclair’s throat tightened, "When did you get married?"

"Mr. Sinclair, this is my private matter, it seems to have nothing to do with you, doesn’t it?" Bella Acker suddenly raised the corners of her mouth, revealing a hint of a smile, "Or does Mr. Sinclair have lingering feelings for me, still unwilling to let go?"

Lingering feelings! Unwilling to let go!

Each word felt like a knife stabbing into Damian Sinclair’s heart, mocking his own imprudence.

Emotions surged in Damian Sinclair’s heart, his gaze changed slightly, but it quickly returned to calm, concealed under indifference.

He withdrew his hand from the door, his expression masked, instantly turning expressionless.

"Ms. Acker seems very confident, but sometimes overconfidence borders on narcissism." Damian Sinclair hadn’t finished his sentence when his phone on the wine cabinet rang.

Releasing Bella Acker, Damian Sinclair stepped away, glanced at the caller ID, pressed the answer button, his coldness faded, replaced by endless tenderness, "Darling, what’s wrong? I just got off the plane, I’ll be with you soon. I brought your favorite gift, be good."

Bella Acker didn’t know why she instinctively waited there to listen to his call.

Seeing the coldness on his face turn into pampering tenderness, hearing him call another person darling with warmth and intimacy, her heart suddenly twitched.

He called someone darling, but no longer called her name, instead addressing another woman with affection.

Bella Acker lowered her eyelids, a self-deprecating smile formed at the corner of her mouth, then instantly flattened.

Over the years, the only one stalled, unable to move on, was her.
