Chapter 604: Chapter 603: The Final Decision (16)

Unfortunately, the words she spoke were unheard by Damian Sinclair.

Bella Acker bit her lower lip tightly; Joyland had already begun closing in the early morning hours, and silence enveloped everywhere.

Suddenly, footsteps approached, and Bella abruptly looked up, "Dami..."

The urgent call caught in her throat once she realized who it was.

Archer Quinn walked up and sat beside her, softly asking, "Waiting for Damian Sinclair?"

"Yes." Bella Acker replied quietly, hanging her head, "Senior Quinn, how did you know I was here?"

"I asked Judy Zimmerman, then asked..." Archer Quinn did not say who else he had asked, "How long will you wait?"

"Until I have to leave." Bella wasn’t in the mood to question him further on how he found her.

"I’ll wait with you." Archer Quinn took off his coat, draped it over her, and truly sat with her without speaking further.

"Senior Quinn, I’m not cold; keep your coat on," Bella Acker tried to return the coat to him.

Archer Quinn held her shoulder firmly, "If you still consider me a friend, don’t refuse."

Bella was taken aback and had no choice but to let go.

Archer looked at the only illuminated sign with Joyland’s name, asking, "When did you decide to leave?"

"Recently," Bella replied softly, tightening the coat around her.

"Was it after I confessed?" Archer asked again.

Bella’s body stiffened for a moment, then said, "It has nothing to do with that. I just want to learn more to enrich myself. Ms. Young has been planning to send me to study for a while now."

Silence filled the air before Archer replied, "So, when will you return?"

"If all goes well, probably in five years."

"Does it have to take so long?"

"College takes four years, and I’ll need time to handle some things; it will be at least five years," Bella explained.

"And... the child? Are you going to have it or..."

Bella clenched her fingers around the coat, "I was thinking of not keeping it, but I just can’t let go. Senior Quinn, remember what you promised me: don’t tell anyone about the child."

"I remember." Archer Quinn clenched his fist, making a significant decision before turning to her, "Bella, if I take a holiday, can... can I visit your school?"

"Yes." Bella wiped her tears away, barely managing a smile, "We’re friends, of course you’re welcome to visit me."

Archer Quinn smiled, a genuine smile replacing the polite distance from before, even a trace of joy filled his eyes.

"Great, I’ll definitely come visit you, and you can give me a good tour then." Archer smiled, stretched out his hand, as if to affectionately ruffle her hair like before, but ultimately hesitated and withdrew his hand silently.

Instead, he squeezed his hand, retreating before she noticed.

Bella nodded, "If you come, I’ll take you to have some delicious food."

"Besides eating, we have to have fun; make sure to show me around your school and every fun spot you know. Anywhere you think is interesting, take me there," Archer said, "So when you go, besides studying, save up well, because when I visit, I’m not bringing a wallet; you’ll have to cover food, lodging, and entertainment."

"Alright." Bella nodded.
