Bella listened to the staff talking nearby and felt a sudden pang in her heart.
Did Senior Quinn get rejected by her last night and maybe couldn’t process it?
No, no, no. How could someone like Senior Quinn be upset over a single rejection? There must have been something that delayed him, which is why he’s late.
Bella shook her head, suppressing the thoughts that emerged in her mind.
"By the way, Bella, you’re closest with Joan, do you know what’s going on with him?" a staff member suddenly asked.
Bella paused for a moment before answering, "Senior Quinn is always punctual for filming, he should be arriving any minute now."
Before she finished speaking, she saw Archer Quinn hurriedly walk into the set with his assistant and personal makeup artist.
"Bella really knows him best."
The nearby staff also noticed Archer Quinn and casually remarked.
Bella smiled, hiding her awkwardness.
Archer Quinn approached with his assistant, seeming to be surprised for a moment upon seeing Bella sitting in the rest area, then he regained his usual demeanor and greeted with a smile, "Bella, morning."
His expression was calm and natural, even his smile was as gentle as always. If it wasn’t for his brief pause, it was impossible to detect anything unusual.
Bella stood up somewhat awkwardly, "Senior Quinn, morning."
Archer Quinn smiled, "I’ll go put on makeup first, I’ll come find you later." With that, he nodded to the people around before hurrying to the makeup room with his assistant and personal makeup artist.
Bella turned to watch Archer Quinn’s departing figure, feeling a sense of relief.
Luckily, Senior Quinn’s attitude was natural. If he had deliberately avoided her, she really wouldn’t know how to speak to him.
After Archer Quinn finished his makeup, Director Simons immediately arranged his scene.
Bella happened to have a scene opposite him this morning. Thinking about acting face-to-face with him soon, she still felt a bit uncomfortable.
Director Simons held an electronic megaphone and said, "Actors in position, Lighting person, move the lights back a bit, couldn’t you see Bella’s face was as pale as a ghost?"
Bella’s mouth subtly twitched upon hearing this; was Director Simons implying her face looked bad?
The lighting technician promptly moved the lights back, and Bella’s face finally looked slightly darker on screen.
Director Simons shook his head, "Still not right! Where’s the makeup artist? Go over and add another layer of shadow on Bella’s face; her boyfriend just died, her complexion should be gloomier."
The makeup artist quickly stepped forward to fix Bella’s makeup.
Standing nearby with a smile as usual, Archer Quinn showed no hints of awkwardness around Bella, as if last night’s confession was merely Bella’s imagination.
At least this made Bella feel much more at ease.
Bella smiled and said, "Senior Quinn, I’m sorry, making you wait for me again."
"No problem." Archer Quinn smiled.
Bella also smiled, lowered her gaze, and said nothing more.
Actually, it was still different.
In the past, when faced with situations like these, both she and Archer Quinn would naturally chat about many other topics, but today, although Archer Quinn seemed unchanged, he politely stopped the conversation, and she didn’t know what to say either.
It felt like their relationship had suddenly become seemingly good, but just merely good colleagues from the same crew.
She couldn’t respond to his feelings. Actually, the current situation was the best outcome.
Yet, she couldn’t help but feel a bit of loss in her heart.
