Chapter 913: The Realm of Ice Elves (12)
Aisa moved like a wisp, her form shimmering with the ethereal glow of Ghost Armor. As the colossus loomed over her, she used Ghost Step to phase in and out of existence, making her nearly untouchable. When one of the colossus’s massive fists came crashing down toward her, she phased through it, reappearing just behind the colossal creature.
Aisa’s daggers gleamed as she activated High Ghostly Presence, her form becoming semi-transparent and untouchable. She leapt onto the colossus’s back, her daggers flashing as she struck its neck, targeting the weak points in its frozen armor. The colossus roared in frustration, trying to shake her off, but Aisa’s strikes were quick and precise. She danced around its attacks, her form flickering with each movement, constantly staying one step ahead of its devastating swings.
When the colossus attempted to grab her, Aisa phased through its hands, appearing once again in a flash. She delivered a series of rapid strikes to its spine, each one weakening the colossus further.
Luna, surrounded by her illusions, raised her staff high. Her Nightmare Projection swirled around the battlefield, distorting reality. The colossus’s movements were suddenly erratic as it was assaulted by a cacophony of nightmarish visions, its hollow eyes wide with fear.
Luna’s Illusory Magic twisted the colossus’s perception of reality, making it swing at shadows and miss its intended targets. When a massive foot came down toward Luna, she cast Mirror Image, duplicating herself to confuse the colossus even further. Its colossal feet stomped on the illusions, but Luna, in her true form, stood untouched.
As the colossus swung its fists in blind fury, Luna activated Mind Fog, clouding its mind with confusion and panic. It began to attack recklessly, hitting its own allies in the chaos. She finished with a devastating Nightmare Bolt, a surge of pure psychic energy that tore through the colossus’s icy exterior, creating a fissure down its side.
The party was locked in a brutal, coordinated battle with the Glacial Colossus, their movements synchronized like a finely-tuned instrument. Each blow, each spell, each dodge, was calculated with precision, ensuring they stayed in perfect harmony, never faltering in the face of overwhelming odds. Yet the battle was far from over—the colossus was relentless, and the party had only just begun to chip away at its colossal form.
The roar of the Glacial Colossus still echoed through the ravine, but now another terrifying presence made itself known—an army of Ice Wyrm Broodlings descended from the icy cliffs above. Their serpentine bodies shimmered with frost, and their piercing blue eyes glinted with hunger. These smaller wyrms were vicious, faster than the colossus and swarming like a cloud of deadly, frozen vipers. Their bodies undulated through the air, their ice-cold breaths freezing everything in their wake.
The party braced themselves as the wyrms dive-bombed, their jaws snapping, teeth glittering like shards of ice. But the six were ready. Their movements were now a seamless dance of chaos and control as they fought back the deadly swarm. Each of them had learned from the previous battles, working in perfect harmony to avoid being overwhelmed.
Orion’s crimson eyes burned as the wyrms closed in. Their speed and agility posed a different threat than the colossus’s sheer power, but Orion had faced faster opponents before. His blood magic flared to life, his body igniting with a pulse of energy. Blood Manipulation surged through his veins, and his Blood-Forger Blade extended, glowing a dark, reddish hue.
A wyrm dove toward him, jaws wide. Orion planted his feet firmly, watching its every move. As the wyrm lunged, he sidestepped, his blade flashing with the force of a tidal wave, cutting the wyrm in half as it passed by. The creature’s frozen blood splattered across the snow, but Orion barely paused.
Another wyrm came from the right, its icy breath freezing the air around him. Orion’s Battlefield Mastery let him anticipate its attack. He raised his arm, Blood Shield manifesting to deflect the deadly breath. In the same fluid motion, he whipped his blade across the wyrm’s underbelly, slicing through scales like butter. The wyrm’s body crumpled into the snow, twitching.
But the wyrms came in waves, relentless and unforgiving. Orion roared, his Blood Sacrifice tearing a massive tendril of crimson from his arm, which he hurled into the air to entangle another wyrm mid-flight. The tendril wrapped around its neck, pulling it toward him like a puppet on strings. With a precise strike, Orion skewered the wyrm with his blade, ending it swiftly. However, the wyrms were swarming, and Orion knew that his strength alone wouldn’t keep him safe for long.
Findir had no intention of standing still. He was already moving when the wyrms appeared, his Wind Manipulation allowing him to flow through the battlefield like a gust of air. His movements were a blur, his daggers flashing like twin bolts of lightning.
One wyrm tried to lunge at him from above, its jaws snapping open, but Findir twisted mid-air, his body dissolving into a vaporous form as he used Haste. He reappeared behind the wyrm just as it was about to crash into the ground, and his daggers found their mark—one in its wing, the other in its throat. The wyrm hissed in agony, its flight becoming erratic before it crashed into the ground.
Findir’s Silent Flight took him higher, out of range of another wyrm’s icy breath. He hovered for a moment, his sharp eyes scanning the chaos below. Eagle Eye allowed him to pick out the weakest targets, and in an instant, he threw both daggers with deadly precision. One struck a wyrm in the eye, the other piercing the wing joint, causing it to plummet like a stone.
He darted again, his movements so swift that the wyrms couldn’t track him. He was constantly in motion—slashing, dodging, disappearing, and reappearing—all while avoiding the swarming broodlings with lethal grace.
Cy, with his Abyssal Shield raised, braced himself as the wyrms attacked in unison, their icy breath chilling the air. The first wyrm that dove at him was met with a brutal Wave of Darkness from his spear. The shadows that surged from the impact struck the wyrm mid-flight, sending it spiraling into the ravine with a screech.
But the wyrms weren’t deterred. Another swooped in, teeth bared. Cy swung his shield, slamming it into the wyrm’s head. The impact sent it reeling, but Cy grabbed its frozen skull and, with a primal roar, squeezed until its head shattered like brittle ice. As the wyrm’s body collapsed, Cy spun, using his Empower to augment his strength for the next oncoming wave.
A group of wyrms surrounded him, trying to overwhelm him with their speed and numbers. Cy dropped low, using his Abyssal Shield to parry one wyrm’s attack and following with a powerful thrust of his spear into another’s chest. The spear crackled with dark energy, and the wyrm was pierced clean through. The colossus-like Cy, now a towering figure of pure shadow, was not only an immovable wall but a harbinger of destruction in the midst of the swarm.
Bella’s Flame Shield flared brightly as the wyrms circled, preparing to dive at her with their icy breath. She didn’t flinch. Summon: Fire Spirits erupted from the ground, their fiery forms dancing around her in a protective circle. As one wyrm rushed her, she unleashed a Fireball into its path, the explosion vaporizing the creature mid-flight. The surrounding wyrms hesitated, thrown off balance by the eruption of heat.
Bella surged forward, Will of Flames igniting her staff with intense heat. A second wyrm lunged at her, and she sidestepped with fluid grace. The wyrm’s massive jaws snapped shut on nothing as Bella leapt, bringing her staff down on its back with a mighty crash. The staff created a burst of fire that sent the wyrm spiraling, its body cracking under the force of the blow. It fell to the ground in a smoking heap.
Another wyrm circled in the air, readying to strike. Bella snapped her fingers, and a Wall of Fire burst from the ground, forming a barrier of intense heat that warded off the oncoming attack. As the wyrm swerved to avoid the fire, Bella pointed her staff and sent a Fireball hurtling through the air, the blast exploding as it struck the wyrm mid-flight, causing it to tumble from the sky.
Aisa moved through the chaos with the ethereal grace of a ghost. Her Ghost Step allowed her to phase in and out of existence as the wyrms dove at her with ferocity. She had no time for hesitation; every strike needed to be precise.
One wyrm swiped at her with its claws, but she phased through its attack, reappearing just behind it. Her daggers flashed in the air, cutting through the wyrm’s wings with a series of rapid strikes. The beast screeched as its flight was crippled, and it fell to the ground, but Aisa was already gone, reappearing above another wyrm just as it dove at her from the side.
