Chapter 126: It Rhaeger was meeting up with accomplices

"The flights have been booked." Michael muttered to himself as he stared at his phone. The choice of country was not something he had to think over for several hours to decide.

Since the goal was to get as far away from the chaos as possible, he chose a rather far country.

Well, not too far since Michael didn’t want to think he was worlds away from Noah.

They decided on Manchester.

They would settle there after touring around different countries, but they would first arrive there to drop off the things Michael would need to set up in the new house Alyssa was in the process of purchasing.

Since he just told them his choice, they would have to prepare a lot of things. They would have to prepare the house in a good environment, prepare their flights, and also make sure no one was tracking their movements.

All this would take the maximum of two days, and so, Noah actually got his wish and would be staying for two more days to experience the new year in his homeland and in the house where he had many treasured memories.

"Phew, that was close." He exclaimed and then looked up.

He was out on a walk, and the other two were following for a distance, as usual, so he wasn’t worried about anything.

Though, the thing Alyssa told him scared him a bit.

But as he thought of this, he saw a rather familiar face.

It was a blonde guy wearing a suit.

’Isn’t that the suspicious man Noah said he’d keep his eyes on?’ Michael thought.

For a suspicious person, he sure was actually super suspicious.

He looked around to see if anyone was following him before walking into the alley that was famous for being dark and a famous meeting point for rogues so no one dared go into those alleys recklessly.

Even those who didn’t know about Lycans and werewolves didn’t dare enter those alleys because they were downright dangerous and filled with dangerous people, as they would conveniently describe.

Michael glanced at the two behind him to find out they were arguing like always. So, they didn’t notice Rhaeger who had walked into the alley up front.

Their focus was on Michael, after all.

’What if he’s planning something against Noah?’ He wondered, his heart racing with a certain excitement. ’This could be my chance to actually help Noah.’

Since he hadn’t been of any help to Noah and was apparently the reason behind Noah’s lack of focus, he felt he could help Noah this time around.

So, he quickened his pace.

If Rhaeger was meeting up with accomplices and was planning to bring down Noah then he would find it out.

Since he was a normal human, he could just make it seem like he walked into those alleys by mistake.

And if they caught his scent as female... He gulped.

’I just pray this goes well.’

Doctor Ro noticed Michael increasing his pace and wondered what he was doing. But then he noticed the notorious alleyway in front of him and then squinted.

’Wait, he’s not planning anything stupid, is he?’ he wondered and wanted to exercise faith but then he started getting this nagging feeling.

"Why’d he start walking so fast?" Alyssa asked and Doctor Ro turned to her.

She probably didn’t know about that alleyway so even if she saw Michael going through there, she would just follow at a distance like she was supposed to, not knowing that she was leaving him to walk into his own doom.

’Tsk!’ He clicked his tongue and started moving faster. ’I can’t stop him from this distance,’ he thought, and then looked at Alyssa. ’And if this one goes there with me, it’ll spell trouble.’

So, he stopped and then grabbed Alyssa’s wrist.

"Wait." He said and Alyssa looked at him, confused.

"What are you doing? He’s going to get out of our sight at this rate." She asked, but he watched silently, and just as he suspected, Michael was heading for the alleyway.

Just why did he go looking for trouble himself?

"Hey, let go." Alyssa demanded, so he turned his gaze back to her and said,

"I don’t know why he decided to go seek his own death but if I’m going to get him out of there safely, then you’ll have to stay here."

Naturally, Alyssa wouldn’t understand.

"Why do you think you can give me orders? Let go. I can’t take my eyes off him." She said, struggling with his grip but he did not let go.

Her recklessness would definitely put Michael in danger.

"Hey, listen to me for once. You’re a werewolf and Michael just walked into a place filled with rogues that hate werewolves." He explained and her eyes widened.

"What?! Then why are we dawdling? We have to go save him."

"No, I will go save him. You stay here." He said and she shot him a suspicious glare.

Of course, he was still yet to prove he was trustworthy so for him to say something like this, she couldn’t help but wonder what his motive was.

This man could do anything for money so he could as well set up a trap to lure Michael. And now he was stopping her from going to save him.

Just what was he planning?

"I know how this looks but it won’t end well for me if he dies. I need him alive to get paid just enough to buy myself an island." He bragged. "And that’s why I won’t take the chances of engaging in a fight where he can get hurt. So, I’ll go there and get him out without any fights. I’m a rogue so they should believe me."

Still, Alyssa was suspicious. What if this was, in fact, a trap, and this was his plan to shake her off his tail while he did whatever he wanted?

She wanted to take this into serious consideration, but then she took a deep breath and then exhaled, thinking from another point of view.

Doctor Ro had always been sensible with his words and though they were mostly infuriating, they never held a single deceit.

And as such, his method to go in there and her Michael without engaging in a fight might be solid.

Since he already knew who was behind Michael and how much he was treasured, he wouldn’t so rashly make an enemy out of Noah.

Instead of handing Michael over to another for mere chicken nuggets, his best bet would be to kidnap Michael and then ask for a ransom.

Just enough money to buy the stupid island he was always talking about.

"Hurry up and make up your mind. We don’t have time."

And as such, Alyssa decided to trust Doctor Ro just this once.

"If you betray the Sir," she said, her eyes blazing with hate. "I will never forgive you for it and will hunt you down no matter where you may be." She threatened.

"Fortunately," he took his hand off hers. "I have no plans of being hunted by the likes of you."

She watched him leave and then bit her lip, clenching her fist and she waited in place.

Michael, on the other hand, had succeeded in walking into a lion’s den and found himself gulping at the pressure, as well as what he was hearing.

So, Noah’s suspicions had been right the whole time. Rhaeger had betrayed him.

He followed Rhaeger deep into the dark alley that was surprisingly easy to see in.

So much for being named a dark alley. But it was quite darker than other places because of the towering buildings on both sides.

He walked slowly and lightly so that they wouldn’t notice his presence until he started hearing their voices clearly.

He quickly hid behind the broken air conditioning stash that seemed to be a good hiding spot.

It was also quite dark in that particular spot so even if someone was coming from behind, they wouldn’t see him. Plus, it had a very funny smell that made him want to throw up, but he held it in, looking at his goal as the main priority.

’What are you planning?’

"You said you’d have your forces ready by tomorrow, right?" Rhaeger asked. "They should be prepared to strike during the countdown for the new year, I assume."

"Yea, yea, ya shouldn’t keep asking one thing over and over just ta confirm multiple times," the one he was talking to responded.

There were about five of them there and they were rogues.

"I’ll get my men there. Ya just have ta da ya part and bring ya Alpha ta the designated spot." The guy speaking, presumably their leader, said. "As much as we’d lave to crash ya party, we can’t risk getting killed aff."

His way of speaking was rather... Rough.

Rhaeger, who considers himself a high breed werewolf, felt infuriated that he was entertaining the bullshit of this man who was no more than a brawn with no brains but it couldn’t be helped.

If he wanted to get rid of Noah, he would need the strength that he possessed as well as the forces that he ordered.

"Alright. Then we shall no longer keep in touch until then." He said. "So, don’t forget and..."

"Ack!" A sound from the air con area alerted them right away and they all turned towards it.

"What was that?"
