Chapter 118: Alright, I guess it’s time for my confession
Noah asked himself why they didn’t just right out attack him while his guard was down but instead monitored what he was doing.
He didn’t think that, to them, it might’ve seemed strange that he let his guard down. It definitely seemed strange, so the other parties were extremely cautious.
For all they knew, it might’ve been a trap to lure them out and deal them damage.
In other not to fall into that trap, they decided to simply mess with him and his surroundings.
It was during this time that Noah decided it was a good idea to clear the surroundings of the rogues so it made them even more cautious, especially when he took on the stubborn rogues himself and came out unscathed.
They watched his movements a lot more from there and then Noah began to notice it. Even with his guard down, with the increasing forces of the people watching him, it was almost impossible for him not to notice.
That was the day he found Michael crying next to the dumpster and decided it would be best not to go out for the time being, sharing the same idea with Michael.
Of course, he had no idea Michael had met Rhaeger that day and simply acted on his actions to protect Michael.
It was like that till Michael’s mother came over and things became messy.
He found out from Sebastian that there were a few members of the Red Moon Pack but he did not take care of them because he didn’t want to spark any trail on his movement and end up disrupting his peace.
This was how they knew the rest of the damage was caused by the Red Moon pack.
"Wow, so something like that was happening?" Michael asked, surprised.
He was enjoying his days so leisurely that he had no idea that stuff like that was going on. He couldn’t even imagine it since he assumed Noah had no memories.
"I’m sorry, if I had been more careful and cautious, your parents wouldn’t have died like that." He sadly said and was prepared to receive Michael’s anger but Michael did not even react to it and said,
"Alright, I guess it’s time for my confession."
This reaction confused Noah. He just heard that it was his fault that his parents died, was that all he had to say?
"You’re not mad?"
"How could I? I mean, even if it’s because of you that they did what they did and killed my parents, it’s not like you asked them to do it. I should be mad at them and not you."
It wasn’t that he originally wished for his parents’ death. Even if they had treated him so badly and only ever looked at his brother, they were still his parents who gave him life and had never directly harmed him.
They did not starve him either. They gave him everything basic, even if they ignored how his older brother plagued him.
So, it still felt uncomfortable.
But they were already gone. It wasn’t like regretting or blaming someone for their death would bring them back.
He could just imagine he was still disowned and they were living far away from him, letting him live his life however.
"Besides, even if I wanted to be mad at you, I can’t." He stuck his tongue out. "I still have my faults and I definitely don’t want you to be mad at me."
Noah’s eyes glimmered and then he held Michael’s hand. He was so understanding, huh?
"Now for my confession."
Noah wondered what it was about since he was so eager to confess.
"Hm, so you know that day you found me crying outside next to the dumpster, it was indeed because I thought you had suddenly disappeared but before that, I saw some people who were looking for you and thought they already took you. I was scared and sad, that’s why I was so relieved when I saw you."
Finally, Michael let it out of his chest.
He had been keeping this to himself for a while just to keep Noah to himself, but now that everything was out in the open, he only felt it was right to let this out as well and put his conscience to rest.
"So, something like that happened?" Noah asked, though he did not look too surprised.
He deduced that Michael would come in contact with a search team at least once but since Michael never talked about it, he didn’t know if he deduced wrong.
But it turned out that he was just keeping it to himself.
"Why didn’t you let me know about it?" Noah asked and Michael pouted.
"I was scared. I already said it." He said. "I didn’t want you to leave me yet."
"Just because people were looking for me, did you think I would leave right away? What if it was the enemy?" He flicked Michael’s forehead.
"Ouch. I did think of that but I wasn’t sure. Whether it was the enemy of someone on your side, I didn’t care. I just wanted to keep you to myself." Michael said with his chest out even if it wounded selfish.
"I understand. I’d do the same if I were in your shoes." He said as he kissed the forehead that he flicked. "That’s exactly why I didn’t want to let you know that I had regained my memories even when everything was set for me to return. I wanted to stay by your side longer."
"Sheesh, stop trying to rile my heart up." Michael said, pushing his face away. "Well, since we’ve both confessed, we won’t keep secrets from each other from now on, alright?"
"So, that’s what you were aiming for?"
"Not really but it just came to mind." Michael said. "If you lie to me from now on, it will really hurt me so don’t lie."
"And how will I lie to you when I can’t even communicate with you?" Noah asked, laughing and Michael nodded.
"Hm, true. True. But still, we’re not staying away from each other forever so just keep it in mind." Michael said.
"Alright. I’ll never tell a lie to my one and only."
"Hey, how am I your one and only?"
"Hm?"
"Are you excluding our child?" Michael asked and this caused Noah to laugh.
"Yes, there’s one more I forgot." He rubbed Michael’s belly. "Sorry that I have to put you through this alone."
"It’s fine. It’s fine. I’m stronger than I look." He said and kissed Noah’s cheek.
"By the way, who was the person that approached you? How did they look like?"
"Keeping tabs?"
"More or less."
"Well, it was a man with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a suit as well and showed a picture of you, saying you were his boss. Does that ring a bell?"
Noah went silent. It might’ve been Rhaeger.
"Yes, I do." He said. "He’s my Beta."
"Beta, as in..."
"My right-hand man." Noah explained properly. "But he’s not trustworthy so don’t ever let him approach you."
"How come? If he’s your right arm man, he’s supposed to be trustworthy, right?" At least, that’s how it was supposed to be, right?
"He’s supposed to be but I feel he had something to do with the ambush that caused me to lose my memory and transform into a dog, staying in hiding."
Ah, that’s right. Noah could transform into a large wolf as well as a dog. But it seemed like the dog part was only for emergencies.
"I’ll keep an eye on him and uncover what his motive is but for now, I’ll keep him at arms--" Noah paused as he noticed Michael drawing circles on his arm. "What are you doing?"
"I... I have a favor to ask."
"What is it?" Noah innocently asked, unaware of what was brewing in Michael’s head. "You want me to transform into a wolf once?" He asked after Michael made his request and Michael nodded. "Do you want to see it that badly?" Once again, Michael nodded.
Michael had only seen his wolf form once but that time, he was so tempted by his wolf pelt that he couldn’t think straight.
He wanted to feel that sensation once more before Noah left.
They were just delaying his departure because neither wanted to be away from the other.
It was only because they had to. It was compulsory.
"Alright." Noah said.
It wouldn’t take a strain on him to take his wolf form, but it would be a different story if he wanted him to transform into a dog, a puppy, for that matter.
That one was seriously taxing and he could faint.
But even then, if Michael had asked for it, he would’ve still taken the form regardless of the consequences.
That was how much he wanted to see him smile.
Noah took off his clothes, and Michael cobered his face with his palms, spreading his fingers to get a clear view.
"Kya, what a pervert!" He exclaimed and Noah grinned.
"Then, you’re a bigger pervert for peeping at this pervert." Noah said and Michael laughed, taking his hand down.
"But should I really watch as you transform?" Michael asked.
"Yes. Our child may have to transform later in the future and then, you need to watch it so you know what’s alright and what doesn’t look right. But know that the first few transformations can be very painful so even if it looks painful, do not panic. It’s normal."
Michael gulped.
Whether it was normal or not, it wouldn’t take away the discomfort, would it? He might not even be able to watch it but till then. He hoped Noah would be with him when it happened so he didn’t need to go through that alone.
"I’ll start now."
