"He is still missing?!" – asked nervous Lucy.
"Yeah... It is already a second day since he went missing, but we couldn’t find anything." – said the young goblin male as he and the group of other young people were being questioned by Lucy.
"He does sometimes disappear for a day or two when he is busy with his own work.... But not like this." – said the young human male with dark brown hair.
"He doesn’t just disappear without making a noise or leaving a note."
"Heck. He is a delivery slash body guard! But he is never doing any shady business!"
"I’ve even went into his room as well, but his gun was still there... That means he didn’t took any body guard job."
"I’ve also asked my bro and he said that Julian never appeared, even though he was supposed to be working for him today and yesterday." – said the young vampire teenager.
"And that was a body guard job!"

"The last time I’ve talked about him, it was about the problem with the food crates." – said Lucy.
"Yeah, but it was already confirmed that it was a doing of a beast and not the New London." – said the goblin man.
"Not only that, the food delivery will come either today or tomorrow and this time there isn’t any problems."
"The last time I saw him was when he was talking about looking into why the food crates were delayed.... I don’t think he is dumb enough to go and face the beast that attacked the previous delivery through." – said the dark brown-haired man.
"That means whatever happened to him may not be related to it?" – said Lucy.
"If I were to guess, then yes." – replied the human male.

"I see." – replied Lucy.
"I will ask around, maybe somebody knows something." – said the goblin.
"I will also ask my bro, since I and him own that bastard some favors." – said the vampire.
"Thanks. If I do find anything myself, I will also let you know." – said Lucy before moments later the group gave their goodbyes and everybody split up, heading their separated ways.

(This isn’t like him.) – thought worried Lucy.

(Julian can be somewhat hot headed and reckless, but he is by no means an idiot... If anything, he can be smart if the situation calls for it.)
(But for him to go missing like this and nobody is even aware when he went missing is... Weird to say the least.)
2 more days went by and the young man was still not found.
A missing posters were placed throughout the city.... However-
Not even a single trace of the young man was found.
He was last seen buying some food after finally finding a store that was willing to sell him a food crates.
However, the man never came on the promised time to obtain the prepared food crate.
It wasn’t like the crates he bought were stolen or anything either.
No.
The food was completely unrelated.... The man just... Went missing without anybody noticing.
The week would go by after the man’s disappearance... But still nothing was found.

However, something weird happened.
3 more people would go missing out of nowhere.
The 3 new victims apparently had no relationship with each other whatsoever and that was the only thing that was confirmed about missing cases.
The Old London forces were dispatched directly to investigate the missing cases now because of the pressure influenced on them by the city’s population.... But even so.
Even they couldn’t obtain anything.
2 weeks would had passed after the young man’s disappearance.... And 2 more victims would pop up.
No traces or anything.
The incident revolving around the missing food delivery was already dealt with long time ago, not only hunting the beast and brining its body to the populace as a proof, but also the very fact that there was no longer any problem with food delivery.
But even so.
6 people are missing currently.
All 6 disappeared completely without any traces or just anything.
These news spread like wildfire throughout the whole city.... And in the third week.
3 more people would go missing, making the count go up to 9.
And this time it was way worst.
One of the missing victims was the daughter of the influencer business man that had one of the best companies in the whole cities.
And for his daughter to go missing out of all the people? It would not only make the incident with missing people even more well known, but it would also strengthen further the missing people investigation case.
"...Damn... They are really increasing the red-light district security, eh?" – said the cat beastwoman prostitute as she and Lucy were looking down the streets through the balcony.
"Yeah.... Honestly, this place is somewhat best location for the people to go missing." – said Lucy.
"Prostitutes."
"Drunkards."
"And other troublemakers."
"The ones that rules this districts are straight up increasing the security to the maximum."
"Welp, many people will complain about having so many guards here, since this place is about letting loose and stuff." – said the cat beastwoman.
"But better safe and sorry."

"Your orphanage should also have a better security now, right?"
"...True..." – said Lucy.
"Still, I can’t say I’m not worried... Heck, even some of my costumers were distracted by it."
"The news spread everywhere."
"Honestly, I even had to have children somewhat be more restricted about what they can and cannot do because of that incident."
"Some of the missing victims were indeed children."

"Well. I honestly don’t know either... But we still have a job to do." – said the cat beastwoman.

"We should get going before Eli comes for us."
However, the next day, the cat beastwoman prostitute also went missing.
Even with increased security in the red-light district, there was still a missing person case.
"I’ve looked it up.... But there was straight up nothing." – said Eli as Lucy and several other prostitutes were called over by the owner.
"Anne slept here for the night and the moment she left the red-light district to buy herself some new cloths, she went missing."
"I’ve had my people go to her regular shop... But apparently, she never even gotten there yesterday."
"Honestly speaking, I shouldn’t be speaking with you now."
"But the news about Anne’s disappearance already spread like wild fire here, before I could somewhat suppress the information."

"From now on, you are forbitten to leave the red-light district alone."
"I will somewhat deal with escorts and what not if you want."

The atmosphere in the whole city was changing.
The number of the missing cases were increasing and the people were fearful.
To even make it worse, even after so many people went missing, there was still not a single lead regaining the situation.
Even with the city military force being involved directly into the investigation, nothing truly came out.
"Some people are starting to believe that the city officials are involved in this." – said the thug looking man.
"Again, with the conspiracy theories mate?" – asked the bald-headed man.
"....Still.... I can’t say you maybe not wrong here.... I mean, the city officials and what not are directly involved into the investigation, yet they couldn’t find anything?"
"Maybe they do know something, but they are just hiding it?"
"What do you think miss?" – asked the bald man as he looked towards Lucy who was currently being escorted by the two men.
"Honestly... It is not just city officials that are conducting their own searches for the missing people." – said Lucy.
"Some companies and people of influence are also on the move, but they still found nothing either."
"Still... The city does have somewhat high security ever since the war has ended, so even without patrols and what not it should had been hard for that many to go missing."
"..."
"Honestly... There is maybe a good chance that you are correct."
(Yes.... The city security level is extremely high.)
(This is extremely massive city in the first place, so obviously there will be crimes here and there.)
(But the peace of the whole city is kept somewhat extremely in good state.)

(Still... I can’t say that things are normal.)
(The atmosphere is quiet tense amongst the people and I even ended up receiving way less costumers than usual.)
(Maybe Eli will think that for the time being it will be better if we close the business temporarily?)
(She is already heavily worried about us to the point she is even hiring body guards for us when we are going home.)
(....And for her to act so scared... This isn’t like her.)
(Did Anne’s disappearance affected her that much?)

"Wait." – said the thug looking bodyguard as the trio were reaching the orphanage... Only to spot the two men in somewhat 19 century looking military England get up.
"Halt! Who are you and what are you doing so late at night!?" – asked one of the men in the military get up as he and the man with mustache was taking out their badges and showing them to the group.
"We are escort brining this lady back to the orphanage, officer." – said the thug looking man.
"There is no need to get worked up."
"We were hired to bring people to safety ever since the incidents with missing people are keeping people scared." – said the bald-headed man.
"..."
"I see. But please show us your identifications documents first." – said the military man with moustache.
"I understand." – said the bald-headed man as the trio took out their documents and handed them over to the two officers.
"..."
"Everything checks out." – said the man with the moustache as he gave back the documents.
"Thank you." – said the bald-headed man.
"Well then, good-"
Before the bald-headed man could even finish speaking, the two officers took out their sabers and instantly cut down the two men, cutting their bodies in half and making their remains hit the ground, splattering the blood everywhere on the floor as well as all over Lucy who just in place.
"..."
"Eh?" – before Lucy even realized, her two body guards were straight up killed on the spot without any form of warning.
"!?" - The woman quickly snapped out of and tried to scream, but before she could even do that, the man with the moustache quickly grabbed the woman and covered her mouth, not letting her escape or even scream for help, while the second officer took out a bottle and rag from his pocket.
The man soaked the rag with the liquid from the bottle, before then putting it over the woman’s face, making her quickly start losing conscious.
"..."
"I will secure the target." – said the man with the moustache as he put Lucy on his shoulder.
"You clean up."
"Understood." – said the other officer as he headed towards the corpses.
...
The next day.
Lucy was declared missing.
