Chapter 540: Chapter 540 – Search for divinity continues – Part 2.

(An entrance... A hidden one at that.)

(After the days of searching and turning this entire place upside down, straight up digging massive holes and what not in random ass places too... This is first time I found something.) – thought Phantasia as he jumped down the dig out hole.

"..."

(It is not buried.)

(If anything, it is in perfect state?)

Phantasia approached the entrance and entered the corridor.

"No pop-up message."

(So did I hit a miss?)

(Something is off about this place.)

(Month.... For more than single month... Maybe close to 2 months now I had been freaking turning this place upside down, digging holes everywhere and even making holes so big that some people could just die by falling into them.)

"Guard the entrance. Nobody is allowed to come in." – said Phantasia to his monster as he then began exploring the buried ruins.

(I’ve made some distance already, and yet, there are still no monsters or traps popping up.) – thought Phantasia while holding a lantern in his hand that was brightening up the area around him.

(If anything, there are these murals... Which seems beautiful in nature.) – thought Phantasia as he realized that the pathway was twisting around, heading deeper into the underground.

(It doesn’t really look like they are telling a story, they are just here to look fancy.)

(Still, the fact remains that they are in a perfect state.) – thought Phantasia as he carefully explored the long corridor, which brough the man to the massive gate.

(Welp, it seems to be the end?) – thought Phantasia as he approached the massive gate and opened it up.

"!" – and right after opening the massive gate, Phantasia found himself in somewhat lighten up room.

However, brightest wasn’t the thing that caught Phantasia off guard.

It was a massive room.

Or more exactly, ginormous.

Inside of that massive space, there was something that did caught Phantasia attention instantly.

A massive blue and golden color themed pyramid was standing in the middle of the said room.

And not only that, but from the pyramid itself as well as the walls of the entire ginormous spacious rooms, a countless number of openings were present which were unleashing a non-stop flow of a water, which was floating the very bottom of the room.

"Huh... Nice." – said Phantasia as he looked from above from his current location, observing the massive pyramid below him.

(This must be the reason why all the plant life are present in this desert.)

(That means I’m in the right place!) – thought Phantasia as he noticed stairs next to the podium he was standing on, before then descending down, slowly reaching the very bottom where a simple boat was waiting for Phantasia.

Phantasia boarded the boat and began pedaling it though the massive underground lake, before then reaching the small dock that were located right next to the massive pyramid.

"Welp. I’m here." – said Phantasia as he gotten off his boat and slowly approached the massive pyramid, looking around for anything like an enemy or entrance.

"..."

(This looks like entrance, but it doesn’t really look like a door.) – thought Phantasia as he approached the massive stone tablet, placing his hand on it... Which in the next second caused several water veins inside of it to reveal itself, before moments later the stone table was ripped into a several peace as it opened up the way for Phantasia.

"Oh... I guess I don’t need to look too much." – said Phantasia as he entered the massive pyramid, finding himself in the golden corridor that was lighten up by the bright blue water that was running through the pipes in the ground and walls.

(Huh... Still peaceful? By now I thought something would-)

(Oh, never mind.) – thought Phantasia as he stopped in place, as he arrived at the massive room, which had a poodle of water in it.... And in the very next second, just as Phantasia stepped foot in that room, the water in the puddle started coming to life, raising upwards and forming into a female humanoid figure made out of this blue water.

"...Who are you?" – asked Phantasia as the woman made out of blue water who posses both detailed and beautiful appearance while wearing an Egyptian like dress has manifested.

"I’m Priested Of Oasis."

"And I’m the overseer of this temple."

"And now, I ask thee."

"Who are thou?"

"Phantasia. At your service." – said Phantasia as he bowed his head while introducing himself.

"...Now, o priestess."

"If I may ask."

"What is this place?"

"A temple." – said the priestess.

"A temple that is dedicated to the one and true goodness of oasis and beauty."

"Then tell me this." – said Phantasia.

"Is your goodness the true goodness, the one who once fought against the heretics from different worlds?"

"Yes." – said priestess.

"She is one of the gods that fought against the heretic invaders."

"Tell me."

"How do you know that?"

(She isn’t aware of it either? Just like Thanatos said with her guardian.) – thought Phantasia.

"Allow me to explain." – said Phantasia as he gave in details the current situation of the outside world, about the return of the invaders, about the mad war that is going on and about the organization that is aiming to completely banish the invaders or just all together exterminate them.

"I see... So, this world is once again engulfed in the chaos and destruction." – said the priestess.

"Unfortunately, yes." – replied Phantasia.

"You really don’t know?"

"I mean, with all the shit that is going on nonstop, it is hard not to notice."

"Unfortunately, I stayed sealed in this place for all this time, so my contact with the outside world was straight up non existing." – replied the priestess.

(Welp, now this gives me 100% confirmation.) – thought Phantasia.

"..."

"Tell me o priestess." – said Phantasia.

"Is this place one of the trials left by the Elder Gods, a test to grant divinity for those who wishes to rebel against the invaders and their mad worshipers?"

"Yes." – replied the priestess.

"This is indeed the place of a trial."

"And let me ask you this, wonderer."

"Do you wish to take on this divine trial and prove yourself to be worthy to inherit my goodness will?"

"Yes. I wish to take on this trial." – said Phantasia.

"Very well then, fallow me." – said the priestess of oasis as she started leading Phantasia through pyramid, before then arriving at the yet another room.

"As you can see, there are 3 doors here."

"Each leading to each respectful tests."

"The rules are simple."

"Pass all tests, and the divinity is yours."

"Question." – said Phantasia.

"Is there an order which I need to take the tests?"

"No. You can take them in any order that you wish." – replied the priestess.

"Then what about if I fail?" – asked Phantasia.

"Do I have only once chance or can I retake the test later?"

"Once you fail one of the test, your results will automatically reset, meaning that you will have to take on all the tests once again and you will not be allowed to take any tests for 24 hours, you will also be banished from setting foot in this temple." – replied the priestess.

(So if I fail, I wouldn’t be able to get in anybody’s way to stop them from completing the test? Annoying.) – thought Phantasia.

"Can anybody else take the test while there is already one person inside?" – asked Phantasia.

"No." – replied the priestess.

"Only single person is allowed to take on the trial."

"Nobody is allowed to take on any of the tests as long as the first person inside didn’t completed or failed theirs."

(So as long as I don’t fail, I will be completely safe and unbothered.) – thought Phantasia.

(I guess that means I can take my time and make sure I don’t rush it, which could result in me fucking it up.)

"What about the trials? Are you allowed to tell me what are on the other side of these doors?" – asked Phantasia.

"No." – replied priestess.

"..."

"I see." – said Phantasia.

"Very well, that was my last question."

"I’m ready to take on the first test."
