Chapter 265: Chapter: 264 Dinner and sad story.[1]

"How have you been?" Jasmine asked with a warm smile. The sight of the tiny devil genuinely brightened her mood. "It’s been a long while. How many months has it been now? Three? Four? Maybe even longer."

She rested her chin on her hand while thinking back.

"You guys hardly visit anymore after Julius proposed. Then after that day when the obsessed one suddenly appeared asking for ice cream and claiming she was pregnant, all of you practically vanished."

Jasmine shook her head with amusement.

"Honestly, I was starting to wonder if something happened."

Her smile softened as she looked at the tiny figure hovering beside the bed.

"Still, it’s good seeing you again." Then a thought occurred to her.

"Ah, by the way, where’s the obsessed me?"

The devil Rosalina immediately snorted.

"The bitch is pregnant."

The words hit Jasmine like a bolt of lightning.

"What?!"

She shot upright from the bed so quickly that the blankets nearly slipped off. Her eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at the tiny woman floating before her.

For several moments she could only stare.

Then she pointed a trembling finger.

"H-How?"

Her voice rose in disbelief.

"How did she get pregnant when she can’t even touch him?"

Beside her, Kavin remained completely oblivious to the conversation. He had already drifted asleep sometime earlier and was currently lying peacefully beneath the blankets.

Even if he had been awake, he wouldn’t have been able to see the devil hovering in the room.

"Tsk." The devil clicked her tongue, "Don’t ask me."

Her tiny face twisted with annoyance.

Even now, after all this time, the memory still irritated her.

She and the obsessed Rosalina had actually been friends. Most of the other Rosalinas found them both strange and difficult to tolerate because of their personalities.

Only a few got along with them regularly. The obsessed one, herself, and the angel.

Though the angel was usually occupied with her endless responsibilities and rarely had much free time.

As a result, the devil had spent most of her time with the obsessed Rosalina.

At least until everything changed.

After Rosalina finally kissed Julius, an unbelievable thing happened.

They got him.

Well... not exactly him.

A living action figure. A miniature Julius that could talk, smile, react, and behave almost exactly like the original.

The devil still remembered the chaos that followed. The entire Rosalina Land had nearly descended into madness.

Everyone suddenly became obsessed with the tiny Julius. Wherever one looked, there was another Rosalina carrying him around, talking to him, cuddling him, or stealing him from somebody else. The place had become complete insanity almost overnight.

Naturally, the obsessed Rosalina was among the worst offenders. After obtaining her own action figure, she practically disappeared.

Everyone did.... actually.

The devil found herself spending more and more time alone because nobody seemed interested in anything except their precious miniature Julius.

Then one day...the obsessed Rosalina came crashing into the gathering.

She looked proud, victorious and smug beyond belief. And then she announced that she was pregnant.

The devil’s expression darkened.

No one in the entirety of Rosalina Land had ever been pregnant before, so naturally everyone demanded an explanation.

The response they received nearly caused a riot. According to the obsessed Rosalina, she was simply special.

Special enough to accomplish what nobody else could. And apparently she was the only one worthy enough.

The devil’s eye twitched even now remembering it.

Everyone had been furious.

Yet despite all their anger, nobody could actually prove otherwise.

Deep down, even the most annoyed Rosalinas had reluctantly admitted one thing. The obsessed freak really was different from the rest.

And that fact only made her even more unbearable.

"Haaah..."

Jasmine let out a long breath after listening to the story. Then she nodded several times.

"Wow." Her expression was genuinely impressed, "So that’s what happened."

She leaned back against the headboard.

"And you even got action figures of him?"

The more she thought about it, the more absurd the situation sounded. Yet considering who was involved, it somehow made perfect sense.

"Not bad. Not bad at all." A grin spread across her face. "I’m glad kissing him ended up giving you something that good."

The devil’s expression immediately soured.

Jasmine ignored it.

"Anyway, what’s the reason for coming here?"

The devil had been busy remembering the obsessed Rosalina’s infuriatingly smug face when Jasmine’s question suddenly reminded her why she had appeared in the first place.

Her eyes widened.

"Ah!"

She suddenly shouted.

"Never!" The force of her voice startled even Jasmine.

"Never sleep with him while he’s in this appearance!"

The devil pointed dramatically at Jasmine.

More specifically, she pointed directly at Jasmine’s face.

The beautiful face she was currently wearing. Her expression became increasingly irritated the longer she stared at it.

"Just look at you!"she complained. "You’re wearing the skin of who knows who!"

Her tiny trident shook angrily. "So don’t you dare touch my honey’s face ever!"

The devil looked genuinely offended by the mere possibility.

"Just control yourself!" She crossed her arms. "Once you get back, then you can have him. Until then, absolutely not."

After unleashing the warning, she huffed loudly and floated in place, looking slightly exhausted from the intensity of her own rant.

Jasmine stared at her for several moments. Then a smile slowly appeared on her face.

"Don’t worry." Her voice carried a calm amusement.

"I know at least that much."

The reassurance seemed to ease a portion of the devil’s irritation. Jasmine’s gaze drifted toward the ceiling.

"I was just thinking about human philosophy."

A thoughtful expression appeared on her face as her earlier thoughts returned.

"The body changes. Appearance changes."

She looked down at her hands.

"But the person inside remains the same, that’s what I was trying to figure out."

The next day, Kavin and Jasmine sat at the dining table having breakfast while discussing the fourth and fifth ranked spell casters.

"Both of them have passed the First Trial," Kavin said. "However, I have an advantage against the fifth ranked, Dalan, so I’ll take him on. As for the fourth ranked, Chika, he’s a Fire Path cultivator, so remember to use the time-rewinding Purple Wolf sparingly. Your Color Path has an advantage against him."

He took a bite of his breakfast before continuing.

"And I heard Chika has an obsession with defeating anyone who uses a sword. His pride in his swordsmanship is ridiculous. Provoke him with arrogant snorts and disgusted looks. The more irritated he gets, the worse his judgment becomes. At the beginning, stick to swordsmanship. It’ll make things easier."

Jasmine nodded while spreading jam onto two slices of bread. After finishing, she handed one of them to Kavin.

"By the way," she said, "what about Salena? How are you planning to make her the next successor of the Sun Family?"

Kavin accepted the bread and fell silent.

A thoughtful expression appeared on his face as he considered the question. Nearly two minutes passed before he finally spoke.

"Do one thing." He took a bite of the bread.

"Let’s invite them to dinner tonight."
