Chapter 154: I Hate both Ryan Lightwood and Alexei!!
My life felt split into two very different parts now, like day and night pulling me in opposite ways.
The first part was all warm and happy back at the house—cozy moments where the alphas surrounded me close, kissing me deep and slow with lips that claimed every breath, their tongues tasting sweet and strong.
Then they moved lower, latching onto my swollen breasts gentle but firm, sucking my milk in steady pulls that made me moan soft and shaky till my chest felt light and empty, nipples tingling red from their care.
Those times made me feel safe and wanted, wrapped in their scents like a blanket.
The second part was tougher—the outside world with its doctor visits, check-ups, and errands that dragged me away from their protective arms into cold places that made me nervous. I was afraid of getting kidnapped again, but I believe in them. They will never let anything bad happen to me.
Today was one of those days. I sat in the clinic waiting room, the air sharp and clean with that hospital smell that always made my nose wrinkle.
My legs have recovered quickly. It’s been a week since I can walk, but with limitations.
I played mahjong on my phone to kill time, my thumbs tapping fast across the screen, matching tiles in bright colours. The alphas had begged to come with me, their faces tight with worry after the kidnapping nightmare. "We need to keep you safe," they’d said, scents spiking protective.
But I shook my head firm. "Go to work. Just pick me up later—no hovering needed for now," I told them, my short bob hair swinging side to side as I waved goodbye from the door, feeling brave but a little lonely already.
A big shadow fell over my phone screen all of a sudden, blocking the light. I looked up slow, my heart jumping quick in my chest. There stood Ryan Lightwood, tall and straight in his fitted black clothes that hugged his broad frame.
His alpha scent hit me—fresh and strong, cutting right through the clinic’s sterile air like a forest breeze. His face stayed blank and hard to read, those sharp eyes scanning me up and down. But I don’t like it.
"What game is that?" he asked, his voice low and smooth like velvet, but his gaze lingered on my outfit—two loose t-shirts layered over my bra for extra protection.
No wet spots today, thankfully. Hellen had taken care of that this morning, her mouth working both my peaks thorough and deep, sucking till I panted light and empty.
I pouted hard, my lips still feeling full and soft from all the alpha kisses lately. I didn’t say a word, just kept my thumbs still on the screen, staring back stubborn.
He reached down easy, like it was nothing, and plucked the phone right from my hands. He shook his head slow, looking disappointed like a big brother catching you in trouble. "Mahjong? Seriously? And you’re out here all by yourself?"
"Give it back now!" I yelled loud, jumping up a little from my chair. But I was too short—my arms swiped at empty air while his long reach kept it high out of my grasp.
"Should I?" He held it even higher, casual as ever, one eyebrow lifting cool. His pine scent got closer and stronger as I stretched, making my cheeks heat with anger.
Tears pricked my eyes fast, hot frustration bubbling up. I felt so small and mad. I glared at him with wet emerald eyes, my lower lip wobbling even though I tried to hold it back.
He sighed long and heavy, like I was a big hassle, then handed the phone down slow.
I snatched it back quick and possessive, shoving it deep into my jeans pocket. I wiped my cheeks rough with the hem of my black t-shirt, grateful for the double layers keeping everything dry and hidden—no one would see if I leaked.
"How are you doing? That kidnapping story was everywhere—headline news for weeks, whole world’s still talking," he said softer now, leaning one hip against the arm of my chair. His blank look cracked just a bit, showing something like real care in his eyes. Why was he looking at me like that?
I shot him a side-eye full of suspicion, wiping the last tears away quick. "What do you want, Ryan? Cut the fake nice talk—I’m not buying it."
"I’m sorry for how I acted before. All of it, every time," he said straight and direct, his pine eyes locking onto mine without flinching or looking away.
I dropped my head fast, my short bob falling forward to curtain my flushing red cheeks. Old pains stung sharp in my chest. "I don’t care anymore, okay? Just leave me alone—stay out of my life for good."
"Leave her alone," came a deep, cold voice cutting in sharp. Alexei Leonhart strode up then, tall in his sharp black suit that fit perfect, hair slicked back alpha-smooth.
I hadn’t seen him in forever, and the old hate flared right up. We never got along at my limited time at OG Emily’s mansion—he treated me like an annoying bug ruining his perfect world, and I dodged his mean glares like they burned. The whole Viktor mess made it even worse between us.
Ryan growled quick and low, his shoulders squaring up big and tense. "Why do you even care, Alexei Leonhart? Your dad did all this—he took her, and pumped her full of whatever messed-up stuff since her childhood!"
Why is he acting like he cares now? I don’t like him. Or Ryan either. Alexei growled back from deep in his throat, hands balling into tight fists. "Stay out of family business, you stranger—it’s not your place."
"Family business? Your old man made it a public mess—news screamed it everywhere! Everyone knows he kidnapped her to make Hellen Jacksen back down from eating his company!" Ryan shot back hot, his pine scent spiking strong and territorial.
They still think Viktor’s my real dad. Good—my secret’s safe, no one knows the truth yet. I stood up wobbly on my feet, my short bob bouncing with my mad energy. I glared daggers at both of them, arms crossed tight. "Forget your stupid fight already! Just go away! Why are you even bugging me right now?"
"We’re family, Emily—blood or not, that counts," Alexei said quieter, more urgent, his sea-blue eyes going soft in a way I’d never seen before, like he meant it.
"Family now?!" I laughed mean and sharp, fresh tears burning hot in my eyes. "You never saw me as family back then—you treated me like total trash, like I didn’t even exist!"
"I was—"
"No! You’re not my brother! You’re just the guy who hated me my whole life growing up!" I cut him off fierce, jabbing a finger hard into his chest. He hated OG Emily for a lot of things.
"I was blind back then—didn’t see you for real," he said rough, his voice cracking a little, one hand reaching out slow like he wanted to fix it.
"Blind? You’re still a bad person—full stop, end of story!" I spat sharp, my short hair whipping as I spun away.
Ryan smirked smug from the side, giving Alexei a side-eye. "Looks like she hates you bad, Alexei—maybe read the room for once."
"Quiet—shut your trap!" Alexei snapped, flashing his fangs quick in a growl.
I whirled back around, glaring just as mad at Ryan. "And you’re a bad person too! Both of you—total bad news! Just stay away from me!" My voice cracked hard at the end, all the hurt spilling out. I dropped back into the chair heavy and defeated, breathing fast.
