Chapter 97: Damian Gives Away Master’s Sword

Damian grinned as he turned toward Akane. "Now that Raika has already obtained a gift, it wouldn’t be fair if you didn’t get one too."

Akane froze. "Me?"

Damian nodded. "Of course."

Raika’s eyes moved slightly.

Akane quickly waved her hand. "Damian, you do not need to do that. You already spent a lot today."

Damian smiled lazily. "Money is not the problem."

Akane looked at him with slight suspicion. "Then what is the problem?"

Damian rubbed his chin. "The problem is finding something good enough for you."

Akane paused for a moment.

Before she could respond, Damian reached toward his waist and slowly pulled out his dark-silver sword.

The blade gave off a cold metallic shine under the sunlight. Faint spiritual patterns ran along its surface, making it look sharp, elegant, and dangerous.

This was the Low-Rank Noble Grade sword Selvara had given him.

Damian looked at it for a moment before smiling. "From now on, let’s call it Dark Moon."

Akane’s eyes widened. "Damian..."

Raika also stared at him. "Are you serious?"

Damian turned the sword around and offered it to Akane. "Take it."

Akane did not move.

She looked at the sword, then looked back at Damian. "But this was given to you by Elder Selvara."

Damian grinned. "Don’t worry too much about that. I’ll handle Master."

Raika’s eyebrow twitched. "You say that as if handling Elder Selvara is easy."

Damian’s smile stiffened for half a second, but he quickly recovered and waved his hand. "Details."

Akane frowned slightly. "Damian, this is a Noble Grade sword. It is too valuable."

Damian looked at her calmly. "Didn’t I tell you already? I like giving gifts. Just accept it."

Akane’s fingers moved slightly.

For a moment, her warm smile disappeared, replaced by a rare look of seriousness.

She could feel that Damian was not joking. He really wanted to give this sword to her.

Slowly, Akane reached out and accepted Dark Moon.

The moment her fingers touched the hilt, the sword trembled softly, as if recognizing a new owner.

Akane lowered her gaze and said softly, "Thank you."

Damian smiled. "Good."

Raika looked between them and said calmly, "You really are shamelessly generous."

Damian laughed. "That sounds like praise."

Raika frowned. "It was not."

Damian laughed even more. "I’ll accept it anyway."

Akane held the sword carefully, her eyes still filled with surprise and warmth.

Damian waved his hand and turned around. "Alright, goodbye. See you again next week."

Akane blinked. "You’re leaving already?"

Damian grinned without looking back. "If I stay too long, I might start giving away even more things."

Raika muttered, "That sounds dangerous."

Akane smiled faintly while holding Dark Moon.

Damian raised one hand and walked away. "Take care of the sword, Akane."

Akane held the sword tighter and nodded. "I will. Don’t worry, Damian."

Damian’s grin widened as he disappeared into the crowd.

---

Damian grinned after leaving both women behind, already thinking about what kind of return he would get from them.

A moment later, he looked at the familiar system screen that had already appeared in front of him.

---

[Target: Raika]

[Gift Given: Top-Rank Profound Grade Thunder Net Locking Talisman Formula]

[150× Critical Multiplier Activated]

[Reward Obtained: Noble Grade Talisman Master Talent]

[Reward Obtained: Top-Rank Noble Grade Thunder Prison Binding Talisman Formula]

[Reward Obtained: 1 Year of Genius Comprehension in Thunder Prison Binding Talisman Formula]

---

Damian stared at the screen for a long moment because he could barely believe it. "Damn... damn, what a good return. To think I directly got three rewards at the same time."

He had only spent one hundred Mid-Rank Spirit Stones and teased Raika a little.

In return, he directly obtained a Noble Grade Talisman Master Talent, a Top-Rank Noble Grade talisman formula, and even one year of genius comprehension in that formula.

This was not a simple gift return anymore.

This was robbery with system approval.

Damian almost wanted to laugh out loud as he thought about it.

"To think Raika can trigger a critical reward? Damn. That calm thunder girl really is more tsundere than I thought."

Damian clicked his tongue in amusement as he remembered Raika’s reaction again.

"She acts like a proud warrior, but her heart is not honest at all. Just like Vulkara, only quieter."

He looked back at the system reward again.

He did not really know what kind of talisman formula this was yet, so he could only find out later after absorbing the formula and the comprehension experience.

But suddenly, he noticed something strange.

This talent reward did not specify the rank of the talent, only the grade.

Only now did he also realize that when he saw other people’s talents, some of them did not show ranks either, so he quickly checked his current talent again.

His alchemist talent had changed too.

Before, the system had shown it as Top-Rank Noble Grade Alchemist Talent, but now it simply displayed it as:

---

[Noble Grade Alchemist Talent]

---

Damian stared at the screen and rubbed his chin. "So the system just removed the rank?"

After thinking for a moment, he quickly understood.

If a talent only showed the grade without Low, Mid, High, or Top-Rank, it probably meant the talent had already reached the peak of that grade.

Damian nodded slowly. "Simple enough."

Then his grin returned. "In other words, Noble Grade Alchemist Talent and Noble Grade Talisman Master Talent both mean peak Noble Grade."

He clicked his tongue. "Damn. That sounds even better."

His grin widened again as he thought about the future. "Okay, ignoring the adjustment... damn. To think I now have two talents. Not only an alchemist, but a goddamn talisman master too."

He quickly controlled his expression before anyone nearby noticed him smiling like a villain.

After all, the Heavenly Sword Sect was still a righteous sect, and looking evil in public was really bad for his image.

Damian took a deep breath and turned his attention to the next system message. "Alright then... Raika’s return is great. Let’s see what surprise Akane’s return gave me."
