Chapter 160: Damian Takes the Sisters, Obviously

The group continued moving deeper into Blood Reed Valley.

Red grass brushed against the sides of the carriage, and strange mist drifted between the broken ruins scattered across the land. The deeper they went, the heavier the air became.

Borin walked ahead with his spear in hand, his expression serious. "This place is bigger than I expected."

Lareth frowned as he looked around. "The mist is also disturbing our senses."

Maren nodded. "If Kerran Bloodhand is hiding here, finding him will not be easy."

Inside the carriage, Damian lazily opened one eye.

Serina was still sitting calmly beside him, while Miona’s face remained stiff because Damian was shamelessly using her lap as a pillow.

Damian sighed. "This won’t work."

Miona looked down at him coldly. "What won’t work?"

Damian slowly sat up and stretched his arms. "This valley is too big. If we all move together, we might waste too much time."

Borin glanced back. "What are you suggesting?"

Damian smiled seriously. "We split up."

The three men immediately frowned.

Lareth said, "Splitting up in a dangerous place is risky."

Maren added, "Especially when the target is a Golden Core rogue cultivator."

Damian nodded. "True, but Kerran is only one person. If he notices all six of us moving together, he’ll probably keep hiding or escape deeper into the valley."

He pointed toward the left path. "You three go that way."

He then pointed toward another route covered in thicker mist. "I’ll take Serina and Miona this way."

Miona’s eyes narrowed. "Why are we going with you?"

Damian placed a hand over his chest. "Because I am reliable."

Miona stared at him.

Damian added shamelessly, "Also, because mist techniques are useful for scouting, and I need both of you to help cover our movements."

Serina smiled softly. "That reason is actually reasonable."

Borin looked at Damian for several breaths.

Although Damian was shameless, lazy, and far too comfortable for someone on a dangerous mission, his strength earlier had been real.

More importantly, with that Golden Core level drake beside him, he would not be easy to kill.

Borin finally nodded. "Fine. We’ll split up."

Lareth sighed. "If anything happens, send a signal immediately."

Maren looked at Damian. "Don’t fool around too much."

Damian smiled. "Of course. I am very serious."

Miona muttered, "That is the least believable thing you have said."

Damian ignored her and waved at the three men. "Good luck, brothers. Try not to die."

Borin’s mouth twitched. "Same to you."

The three men soon turned and headed toward the left path.

Damian watched them disappear into the mist before his grin slowly widened.

Miona immediately became alert. "Why are you smiling?"

Damian looked at the two sisters and smiled brightly. "Nothing. I just think our small team looks much better now."

Miona’s face darkened.

Serina covered her mouth and laughed softly.

Draco gave a lazy snort, as if even the drake had expected this.

---

Borin, Lareth, and Maren walked through the left path with dark expressions.

For several breaths, none of them spoke.

The mist around them was thick, the red grass brushed against their legs, and broken ruins stood quietly on both sides of the path.

Finally, Maren could not hold it in anymore. "That bastard."

Lareth sighed deeply. "He really took both Blue Mist Sect sisters with him."

Borin’s grip tightened around his spear. "Shameless."

Maren’s expression became even darker. "He fought once, acted reliable, summoned a Golden Core level drake, and immediately turned the mission into a carriage banquet."

Lareth gritted his teeth. "The worst part is that it worked."

Borin’s mouth twitched.

For a moment, the three men fell silent again.

A few breaths later, Maren suddenly muttered, "I have never even held a woman’s hand."

Lareth froze.

Borin slowly turned to look at him.

Maren glared back. "What? Have you?"

Lareth opened his mouth, then closed it.

Borin looked away.

The silence became even heavier.

Maren clicked his tongue. "Exactly."

Lareth’s face darkened. "All these years, I used every bit of my time to cultivate, train, take missions, and survive. Meanwhile, that bastard is strong and still spends every day surrounded by beautiful women."

Borin’s eyebrow twitched. "It is unfair."

Maren nodded fiercely. "Completely unfair."

Lareth’s eyes grew colder. "If he keeps acting like that, I might really stab him during this mission."

Borin snorted. "Get in line."

Maren cracked his knuckles. "Good. If Kerran Bloodhand doesn’t kill him, we will."

The three men nodded at the same time, their jealousy somehow turning into a strange kind of brotherhood.

Suddenly, a lazy voice came from behind them.

"A shameless pervert, huh? Surrounded by girls too..."

The three men froze.

Their bodies turned stiff.

Slowly, they looked back.

A man had appeared behind them at some unknown point, dressed in dark red robes stained with dried blood.

His hair was messy, his skin was pale, and his eyes glowed faintly with a dangerous crimson light.

A bloody aura wrapped around his body like mist.

Borin’s expression changed instantly. "Kerran Bloodhand."

Lareth and Maren immediately released their Qi.

"Damn you, bastard," Maren shouted. "You actually dare to appear in front of us?"

Lareth’s vines began rising from the ground. "Good. We were looking for you anyway."

Borin raised his spear and pointed it directly at Kerran. "Today, we’ll kill you."

Kerran stared at the three of them for a moment.

A second later, he burst out laughing. "Hahaha! You three? You aren’t even Golden Core cultivators, and you want to kill me?"

Borin’s eyes sharpened. "We came prepared."

The three men exchanged one look.

At the same time, each of them took out a talisman glowing with silver chains.

Mid-Rank Noble Grade [Heaven Locking Seal Talisman].

Kerran raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"

Borin shouted, "Now!"

The three talismans burned at the same time.

WHOOSH!

Silver chains shot out and wrapped around Kerran’s arms, legs, chest, and neck, locking his body in place.

Lareth grinned. "Caught."

Maren laughed coldly. "Still smiling now?"

Kerran lowered his gaze toward the chains covering his body.

For a moment, he said nothing.

A slow smile appeared on his face.

"Oh... interesting."
