Chapter 157: Selvara Picked a Spicy Mission

Damian arrived at the Mission Hall not long after leaving Selvara’s mountain peak.

The place was as crowded as usual, filled with disciples checking mission boards, discussing rewards, and arguing about which tasks were worth the risk.

Damian walked inside with both hands behind his back, trying very hard to look calm and reliable.

Inside, however, he was still cursing.

"Golden Core cultivator. She really wants me to hunt a Golden Core cultivator."

His mouth twitched.

"Master, your love is too heavy. One day, your handsome disciple might really die from it."

A few disciples noticed him and quickly stepped aside.

"Senior Brother Damian."

"Senior Brother."

Damian nodded with a righteous expression. "Junior brothers, junior sisters, continue working hard. The sect’s future depends on all of you."

The nearby disciples stared at him strangely.

Someone whispered, "Why does Senior Brother Damian suddenly sound like an elder?"

Another disciple muttered, "Maybe reaching Peak Foundation Establishment made him mature?"

Damian almost laughed.

"Mature? No, no. I’m just practicing my future handsome elder aura."

He walked toward the registration counter, where a young mission disciple was organizing several jade slips.

The disciple looked up and immediately stood straighter. "Senior Brother Damian."

Damian smiled. "My master accepted a mission for me."

The disciple froze for a moment before quickly checking the records.

A few breaths later, his expression changed. "Senior Brother Damian... are you sure you want to accept this mission?"

Damian’s smile stiffened slightly. "I’m not sure at all, but my master is very sure."

The mission disciple gave him a sympathetic look.

Damian’s heart sank. "Don’t look at me like that. What mission is it?"

The disciple carefully handed over a black jade slip. "This mission is to hunt or capture Kerran Bloodhand, an early Golden Core rogue cultivator."

Damian raised an eyebrow. "Bloodhand? That name already sounds annoying."

The disciple nodded seriously. "He is very dangerous. Kerran Bloodhand used to be a sect disciple, but after betraying his sect, he became a rogue cultivator. He specializes in blood Qi techniques and has killed several Foundation Establishment disciples from different forces."

Damian’s expression slowly became more serious.

The disciple continued, "His current confirmed realm is First Stage Golden Core Realm, but his combat ability is stronger than ordinary early Golden Core cultivators. Senior Brother, please be careful."

Damian took the jade slip and sighed. "Blood Qi techniques, rogue cultivator, First Stage Golden Core... damn, Master really picked a spicy one."

The mission disciple hesitated before saying softly, "Senior Brother Damian, this mission is quite dangerous. Please do not underestimate him."

Damian looked at the disciple, then smiled. "Don’t worry. I’m shameless, not suicidal."

The disciple blinked.

Damian placed the black jade slip into his storage ring and turned around.

His grin slowly appeared. "Alright, Kerran Bloodhand."

He walked toward the exit with both hands behind his back. "Let’s see if a Golden Core cultivator can survive my handsome face, my lazy drake, and my master’s terrible love."

---

Damian did not waste much time after accepting the mission.

Since Kerran Bloodhand was already a Golden Core rogue cultivator, waiting too long would only make things more annoying.

Damian quickly left the Heavenly Sword Sect and headed toward the place marked inside the mission jade slip.

The target’s last known location was near Blood Reed Valley, a remote area filled with red grass, strange mist, and abandoned ruins.

Damian walked along the mountain road with both hands behind his back, looking calm on the outside.

Inside, however, he was still complaining.

"Damn. First Golden Core hunting mission, and Master already throws me at some blood-using bastard."

His mouth twitched slightly.

"Why couldn’t she choose someone with a nicer name, like Flower Hand or Soft Cloud?"

Just as he approached the outer road leading toward Blood Reed Valley, Damian suddenly slowed down.

Five cultivators were standing ahead.

Two young men wore the same dark green robes, clearly from the same sect. Another man wore gray battle robes and carried a long spear on his back.

The last two were women who looked like sisters, both dressed in pale blue sect robes. One had long hair and a calm expression, while the younger one looked sharper and more suspicious.

The moment they noticed Damian, all five became cautious.

The spear-carrying man stepped forward. "Stop. Who are you?"

Damian blinked, then smiled. "Wow. Such a warm welcome."

The younger blue-robed woman frowned. "Answer properly."

Damian sighed dramatically. "Fine, fine. No need to look at me like I stole your spirit stones."

He casually took out his Heavenly Sword Sect core disciple token.

The moment the token appeared, the five cultivators’ expressions changed.

"Heavenly Sword Sect... core disciple?" one of the green-robed men muttered.

Damian smiled proudly. "Damian, disciple of Elder Selvara. I accepted the mission to hunt Kerran Bloodhand."

The spear-carrying man relaxed slightly. "So you’re here for the same mission."

Damian raised an eyebrow. "Same mission?"

The man nodded. "I am Borin from the Iron Spear Sect."

One of the green-robed men cupped his hands. "I’m Lareth from Green Mountain Sect."

The other followed. "Maren, also from Green Mountain Sect."

The calm blue-robed woman spoke next. "I am Serina from the Blue Mist Sect."

The younger woman added coldly, "Miona. Also from the Blue Mist Sect."

Damian’s eyes moved toward the two sisters, and his smile immediately became more enthusiastic. "Oh? Blue Mist Sect sisters? No wonder the air suddenly feels gentler."

Miona’s eyes narrowed. "Are you flirting with us right now?"

Damian placed a hand over his chest. "Junior Sister Miona, please don’t misunderstand. I merely appreciate beauty when fate places it before me."

Serina covered her mouth and laughed softly. "You really are direct."

Borin’s mouth twitched. "We’re hunting a Golden Core criminal, not attending a banquet."

Damian nodded seriously. "Exactly. That’s why morale is important."

Miona stared at him. "You’re shameless."

Damian smiled. "I hear that often."

For some reason, the five cultivators suddenly felt this mission might become far more troublesome than expected.
