Chapter 155: The Gifts Started a Hunt

Cynthia raised an eyebrow. "Care for us?"

Damian nodded with a completely serious expression. "Of course. After all, I am the senior brother here. How can I see talented junior sisters working hard and not show a little concern?"

Helena stared at him suspiciously. "Why does your concern sound expensive?"

Damian smiled shamelessly. "Because my concern has taste."

Linsey covered her mouth and laughed softly.

Even Evelyn’s calm eyes showed a trace of curiosity.

Damian leaned back slightly and began thinking quickly.

All four of them were at the Ninth Stage Foundation Establishment Realm. Ordinary Profound Grade items would not be impressive enough, and Mortal Grade things were even more useless.

"At the very least, the gifts should be Low-Rank Noble Grade."

His grin slowly widened.

"Thankfully, with the system’s eyes, I managed to collect plenty of good things at a cheap price."

Damian waved his hand, and four items appeared on the table.

The room instantly became silent.

The first item was a pair of dark green boots covered in faint wind patterns.

Damian pushed them toward Linsey. "Junior Sister Linsey, these are Mid-Rank Noble Grade [Wind Shadow Boots]. They should suit your speed and scouting style."

Linsey’s eyes widened. "Mid-Rank Noble Grade boots?"

Damian nodded. "A fast beauty naturally needs faster feet."

Linsey stared at the boots for a moment before smiling helplessly. "Senior Brother Damian, you really are ridiculous."

Damian then pushed a heavy-looking greatsword toward Helena.

The blade was wide, dark brown, and covered in earth-patterned inscriptions.

"For Junior Sister Helena, this is a Mid-Rank Noble Grade [Mountain Guard Greatsword]. Earth Qi usually suits heavy weapons, and this should help with both defense and offense."

Helena froze. "You’re giving me a greatsword?"

Damian smiled. "A reliable beauty should have a reliable weapon."

Helena looked at the sword, then at Damian. "You are seriously insane."

"Generous," Damian corrected.

Next, Damian pushed a pair of blue earrings toward Cynthia.

"These are Mid-Rank Noble Grade [Clear Tide Recovery Earrings]. They can help stabilize Water Qi and increase Qi recovery speed. Since you handle support and healing, they should be useful."

Cynthia’s playful expression disappeared for a moment. "This... is actually perfect for me."

Damian grinned. "A useful beauty deserves useful equipment."

Finally, Damian turned toward Evelyn.

He had already noticed her fingers earlier. They were slender, steady, and had faint calluses in places that looked more suitable for pulling a bowstring than gripping a sword.

Damian took out an elegant pale-blue bow. "For Junior Sister Evelyn, this is a Mid-Rank Noble Grade [Frost Moon Longbow]."

Evelyn’s calm expression finally cracked. "You noticed I use a bow?"

Damian smiled proudly. "Of course. A handsome senior brother must be observant."

Helena muttered, "There it is again."

Damian ignored her and continued, "Since you use Ice Qi and long-range freezing techniques, this should fit you well."

Evelyn gently touched the bow, her eyes softening slightly. "Thank you, Senior Brother Damian."

The four women looked at their gifts in silence.

For a moment, even Helena had nothing sarcastic to say.

Damian leaned back with a satisfied smile.

"Good, good. Shocked faces. Very promising."

He placed a hand over his chest and spoke righteously. "Junior sisters, please don’t misunderstand me. I only did this because I care about the future of the sect."

Cynthia looked at him. "And because we’re beautiful?"

Damian nodded without shame. "That too. Hehehe."

---

Damian looked at the four women’s stunned expressions and felt extremely satisfied.

"Good. Very good. These reactions are much better than expected."

He slowly stood up and adjusted his robe with a righteous expression. "Alright. Since I have already given the gifts, I’ll be going now."

Linsey blinked. "Senior Brother Damian, you’re leaving already?"

Damian smiled shamelessly. "Of course. A generous senior brother must not stay too long, or people might misunderstand my pure intentions."

Helena stared at him flatly. "Your pure intentions died the moment you entered this room."

Damian placed a hand over his chest. "Junior Sister Helena, why must your words be so sharp?"

Cynthia laughed softly.

Evelyn smiled faintly and gently held the [Frost Moon Longbow] closer.

Damian waved his hand. "Anyway, I’ll be back another time. I hope the four of you do your best."

The four women exchanged glances before nodding.

Linsey smiled sweetly. "Thank you, Senior Brother Damian."

Helena also gave a small nod. "Thank you."

Cynthia lifted the [Clear Tide Recovery Earrings] and smiled. "We’ll make good use of these."

Evelyn’s voice remained calm, but her eyes were much softer than before. "We will remember this favor."

Damian grinned. "Good, good. Remembering favors is a wonderful habit."

He turned around and left the courtyard with both hands behind his back, looking completely satisfied.

Only after his footsteps disappeared did the atmosphere inside the room change.

Linsey’s gentle smile slowly faded into something sharper.

Helena leaned back and clicked her tongue. "That man is stupidly generous."

Cynthia twirled one blue earring between her fingers and smiled lazily. "Stupid, yes. But generous men like him are still much better than those cheap bastards who only want our bodies while offering low-grade trash."

Evelyn calmly placed the [Frost Moon Longbow] across her lap. "At least Damian pays properly."

Linsey giggled. "And he doesn’t pretend to be righteous while hiding filthy thoughts."

Helena snorted. "He is filthy openly. Somehow, that makes him less disgusting."

The four women fell silent for a moment.

A faint killing intent slowly spread through the room.

Cynthia looked at the time, and the playful smile on her face slowly turned cold. "With these items, we don’t need to keep hiding anymore."

Evelyn’s calm eyes sharpened. "We delayed because we lacked confidence and power. That ends today."

Helena gripped the [Mountain Guard Greatsword], her expression stern. "Those bastards thought they were untouchable just because they’re famous and righteous."

Linsey gently touched the [Wind Shadow Boots] and stood up, her smile long gone. "Then let’s prove them wrong."

Cynthia placed the [Clear Tide Recovery Earrings] on her ears and laughed softly. "This time, we won’t hide."

Evelyn lifted the [Frost Moon Longbow], her voice colder than frost. "We are no longer easy targets waiting to be bullied. From now on, we are the hunters."

Helena nodded, her grip tightening around her sword. "And this time, there will be no mercy."

Linsey’s smile returned, but now it was sharp enough to cut. "Let’s go. It’s time to end this and take our revenge once and for all."
