Chapter 118: Top Faction Of Courtesans

Damian walked around the market with both hands tucked into his sleeves.

The sect market was much livelier than he expected. Rows of stalls filled both sides of the wide stone street.

Some sold pills, some sold weapons, some sold talismans, and some sold accessories that looked elegant enough to make any female cultivator glance twice.

Damian rubbed his chin. "What should I buy, huh?"

His eyes moved from one stall to another. "Pills? Weapons? Accessories?"

He clicked his tongue.

Since he was going to a sect that suited Violetta’s talent, that place was probably related to music, songs, dance, or some kind of elegant art cultivation.

In Damian’s mind, that kind of place was naturally filled with beautiful women.

The more Damian thought about it, the brighter his eyes became.

"If that place is similar to a courtesan house or some elegant music pavilion, then there should be a lot of treasure chests there."

His smile slowly became shameless.

"No, no. Calm down, Damian. This is for power. Purely for benefit. Totally righteous."

Then his eyes landed on a stall selling beautiful hairpins, jade bracelets, small bells, scented sachets, and delicate storage pouches.

Damian immediately walked over. "Boss, show me the good stuff."

The stall owner smiled brightly. "Senior Brother has good eyes. These are popular among female disciples."

Damian nodded seriously. "Good. Pack some."

After all, he had money.

He also had plenty of pills. If needed, he could sell a few and buy more gifts later.

For someone with the system, spending money was not wasting money.

It was investment.

A very beautiful investment.

Damian bought several jade hairpins, a few elegant bracelets, some small protective accessories, and two musical charm pendants that looked suitable for Violetta.

After paying, he stored everything away and sighed. "Still..."

His eyes scanned the crowd. "Where are Akane and Raika? I haven’t seen those two women recently."

He had wanted to gift them something too, but they were nowhere to be found.

Damian could only shake his head helplessly. "Fine. I’ll just buy some things first and return."

With that, Damian turned around and walked back toward the mountain peak.

The next day, Selvara stood in the courtyard and looked at Damian and Violetta. "Are you ready?"

Damian nodded with a relaxed smile. "Ready, Master."

Beside him, Violetta also nodded softly. "Yes, Grandmaster."

Her belongings had already been placed inside her storage ring.

There was not much.

A few clothes, her flute, some cultivation resources, the dagger Vulkara had given her, and a few things Damian had prepared for her.

Even though she looked calm, Damian could still see the faint reluctance in her eyes.

After all, she was leaving the place she had only just begun to accept.

Selvara did not say anything more.

She raised one hand, and a silver flying sword appeared in front of them.

The sword quickly enlarged, hovering above the ground with a cold, sharp glow.

"Get on," Selvara said calmly.

Damian stepped onto the flying sword first, followed by Violetta.

Selvara stood at the front.

A moment later, the sword rose into the sky and shot away from the Heavenly Sword Sect.

The mountain peaks quickly became smaller beneath them.

Wind rushed past Damian’s face, but Selvara’s sword Qi blocked most of the pressure.

Damian looked at the clouds around them, then finally asked, "Master, which sect will Violetta stay in?"

Selvara glanced back at him. "Heavenly Palace."

Damian blinked.

Then his eyes widened slightly. "Wow. Just hearing the name makes it sound impressive."

He rubbed his chin. "Is it the sister sect or brother sect of the Heavenly Sword Sect? Since both have ’Heavenly’ in the name."

Selvara looked at him calmly. "No."

Damian tilted his head. "No?"

Selvara explained, "Top factions are allowed to use the name Heavenly. It does not mean they are related to each other."

Damian nodded. "I see."

Selvara continued, "Also, like I said before, Heavenly Palace is not a sect. It is a top faction."

Violetta listened quietly.

Selvara looked toward the distant sky and said, "Heavenly Palace only accepts genius women who pursue art-based cultivation paths. Sound arts, music arts, dance arts, illusion arts, performance arts, and other similar branches."

Damian’s expression slowly became strange.

Selvara continued, "That is why it is called Heavenly Palace."

Damian touched his chin seriously. "So basically, it is the top faction of courtesans."

Selvara’s eye twitched.

Violetta lowered her head slightly, trying not to smile.

After a short silence, Selvara said coldly, "You can say it like that, but it is very different from those lowly courtesan houses."

Damian quickly nodded. "Yeah, yeah, Master. I understand. High-class art cultivators. Not low-class courtesans."

Selvara looked at him. "If you say something stupid when we arrive, I will throw you off the sword."

Damian immediately straightened his back. "Master, please trust me."

Selvara said flatly, "I do not."

Damian sighed. "Fair."

Violetta finally let out a soft laugh.

But after a while, her fingers gently tightened around her flute.

She looked at Selvara’s back and asked softly, "Grandmaster... could I really be accepted there?"

Selvara did not turn around. "Why do you ask?"

Violetta lowered her eyes. "You said Heavenly Palace only accepts genius women. I know Master helped me a lot, but I still don’t know if I am good enough."

For a moment, the wind around them became quiet.

Selvara glanced back at her calmly. "Do not worry."

Violetta looked up.

Selvara continued, "You are my grand-disciple. If I bring you there personally, they will at least test you seriously."

Then her eyes became slightly cold. "And if they dare refuse without reason..."

Damian immediately muttered, "As expected of a fierce master."

Selvara’s eyes narrowed.

Damian instantly straightened his back again. "I mean, as expected of a reliable grandmaster."

Selvara stared at him for a second before looking away.

Then she said to Violetta, "Your talent is real. Your path is simply not suited for the Heavenly Sword Sect. That does not mean you are weak."

Violetta’s eyes trembled slightly.

Selvara’s voice remained calm. "When you arrive there, show them your song, your Qi control, and your will. If they still cannot see your value, then that only means Heavenly Palace is blind."

Damian nodded seriously. "Exactly. And if they are blind, Master will probably help them see with a sword."

Selvara looked at him again.

Damian quickly coughed. "Respectfully."

Violetta smiled softly, and the nervousness in her chest finally eased a little. "Yes, Grandmaster."

The flying sword continued forward, cutting through the clouds toward Heavenly Palace.
