Chapter 109: Damian Fears Novel Logic

Damian felt his eyelid twitch the moment he heard Selvara mention the Sect Master’s youngest disciple.

For some reason, those words alone made his heart feel uneasy.

Youngest disciple.

In most cultivation novels Damian had read before, this title was never simple.

Usually, the Sect Master’s disciples had a certain pattern.

The eldest disciple was often steady, reliable, righteous, and carried the sect’s face like some tragic but admirable senior brother.

He would be calm, responsible, and the type who cleaned up messes left behind by younger disciples.

The second disciple was sometimes colder, more mysterious, or had some hidden problem.

But the youngest disciple?

That one was dangerous.

In many novels, the youngest disciple was either the sect’s spoiled treasure, an arrogant genius, a hidden villain, a troublemaker who caused disasters, or the kind of person who looked harmless but was actually a walking calamity.

Sometimes they were good.

Sometimes they were bad.

But they were almost never normal.

And if they were the Sect Master’s youngest disciple, then the danger level became even higher.

Damian slowly touched his chin as his expression became serious.

"Youngest disciple of the Sect Master... damn. This title already sounds like trouble."

Selvara noticed his strange face and glanced at him. "What are you thinking about now?"

Damian immediately coughed. "Nothing, Master. I was just thinking that the Sect Master’s youngest disciple must be very talented."

Selvara looked at him quietly.

Damian smiled with a sincere expression.

Selvara obviously did not believe him, but she could only sigh and say, "The Sect Master’s youngest disciple is indeed very talented."

Damian’s heart tightened.

"Damn. Talented. That’s already the first sign."

"Please don’t tell me this youngest disciple is the kind who sees me once and immediately says, ’Who allowed this outsider to enter the main peak?’"

He had already dealt with enough trouble since entering the Heavenly Sword Sect, and he did not want more trouble.

He only wanted to live his life while being a simp.

Damian really hoped this was not the start of another annoying plotline.

Selvara frowned slightly. "Why does your expression keep changing?"

Damian quickly shook his head. "No, Master. I am perfectly calm."

Selvara stared at him.

Damian straightened his back even more. "Really."

Selvara said flatly, "You look like someone who just saw a ghost."

Damian’s mouth twitched. "Master, that’s because your training has damaged my face. My expressions are no longer under my control."

Selvara’s eyes narrowed slightly.

After a short silence, she said, "Enough. Just tidy yourself and follow me."

Damian nodded quickly. "Yes, Master."

He quickly patted the grass and dust off his clothes, fixed his messy hair, and tried his best to look like a proper core disciple.

Unfortunately, because he had just woken up from sleeping on Violetta’s lap and had been beaten half-dead by Selvara’s training the day before, his current appearance still looked somewhat messy.

Damian sighed inwardly.

"Great. Meeting the Sect Master’s youngest disciple while looking like this. A very worthy core disciple indeed."

Selvara began walking ahead.

Damian followed behind her obediently.

As they left the courtyard, Damian glanced toward the distant main peak of the Heavenly Sword Sect.

"This is the Heavenly Sword Sect, right? A righteous sect. A proper sect. Surely the Sect Master’s youngest disciple won’t be some arrogant spoiled brat."

---

Violetta walked calmly through the inner disciple area with Selvara’s token hanging on her chest.

This was her first time properly seeing the Heavenly Sword Sect from below the mountain peak.

Before this, she had mostly stayed in the courtyard, cultivated quietly, practiced her flute, or watched Damian come back half-dead after being trained by Elder Selvara.

So when she finally entered the wider disciple area, her eyes could not help but move around with quiet curiosity.

Tall buildings stood along the stone paths, sword practice fields stretched out on both sides, and groups of inner disciples walked everywhere in neat white and blue robes.

Violetta’s eyes softened slightly. "So this is the Heavenly Sword Sect..."

For her, this place felt completely different from the brothel district and the small courtyard she had once lived in.

It was clean, vast, proud, and filled with a sharp energy that seemed to belong only to sword cultivators.

However, while Violetta was looking at the sect, many disciples were also looking at her.

At first, they only glanced casually.

But after one look, several male disciples directly froze.

"Who is that?"

"Damn... she’s beautiful."

"Is she a new inner disciple?"

Violetta’s beauty was gentle, quiet, and elegant. She did not have Vulkara’s fierce charm or Selvara’s cold pressure. Instead, she looked like a calm melody given human form.

Because of that, many disciples immediately wanted to approach her and ask her name.

But the moment their eyes landed on the token hanging on her chest, their expressions changed.

"Wait... that token..."

"Another grand-disciple?"

"She’s connected to an elder too?"

The disciples who had been about to step forward immediately stopped.

After all, no one wanted to offend someone with elder backing for no reason.

Violetta did not notice most of their reactions.

She simply continued walking with calm steps, quietly admiring the sect.

After a while, she suddenly saw a large group of disciples gathered near a wide stone plaza.

The crowd looked excited, and many people were whispering loudly.

Violetta paused, then walked toward a nearby female disciple and asked softly, "Senior Sister, may I ask what happened over there?"

The female disciple turned around, and when she saw Violetta, she was stunned for a moment before answering excitedly, "You don’t know? The Sect Master’s youngest disciple has returned!"

Violetta blinked. "The Sect Master’s youngest disciple?"

The female disciple nodded quickly. "Yes! He just came back from a mission outside the sect. Everyone wants to see him."

Violetta looked toward the crowd again, curiosity appearing in her eyes. "The Sect Master’s youngest disciple..."

For some reason, even she felt that this person would not be that simple.
