Chapter 50: Cringeworthy Lines
"It seems I have forgotten to introduce myself." Sylas didn’t take any offense from Ray’s crude remark.
Instead, he kept an amiable expression and introduced himself. "My name is Sylas Viren of the Viren Household. My mother is—"
"Pause!" Before he could continue, Ray raised his hand and stopped him.
"Who asked for your introduction?" He then questioned.
To prove his point, he turned to the crowd and asked, "Did you ask for his name?"
The students who made eye contact with Ray wanted to cry.
Some of them were quite courageous and thought the fourth prince would save them.
That was until Ray whispered softly to them.
"Keep in mind that his noble rank might be high, but my maid is prone to violence. Speak one wrong thing, and you’ll get a pummel on the spot. Do you think his noble rank can save you from a 3-month hospitalization?"
The students who wanted to side with the fourth prince quickly shrank their necks.
It didn’t help that Belva also flashed a menacing look at them. The memories of her thrashing of the three students made them understand what to choose.
They would rather choose to survive now over the possibility of facing retaliation later on by the fourth prince. There were so many of them anyway.
Would the fourth prince really dare to offend every one of them?
If anything, they could simply have their family change sides and support other princes. It wasn’t like Sylas was guaranteed the throne anyway.
[+20 Villain Points]
[Wow, the Host really is fearless. To send fear to so many students while antagonizing the fourth prince. But good luck with the upcoming scene.]
’Huh? What do you mean by that?’ Ray was dumbfounded by the system’s snarky comment once again.
However, he didn’t need to wait long for him to understand its cryptic meaning.
"It’s you again!" A new voice echoed as they stepped forward and revealed themselves.
"You really are a villain!"
’Fuck, him again?’ Ray was baffled when William appeared once again like some pest.
Yes, that was right!
He was a goddamn pest!
He already tried his best to avoid this protagonist, yet it seemed like William was hellbent on him.
Meanwhile, Sylas’s eyes lit up when someone finally had the balls to speak up and side with him.
"You are?" He turned to them and asked politely, having already decided to put him in his good book. As for the rest of the students here who chose to side with Ray, he would make sure their families could never be put to use again.
They hadn’t allied themselves with any of his eldest brothers anyway, so it was the perfect time to deal with them fast.
"I am William." William introduced himself, completely unaware of Sylas’s identity.
After all, he was just a poor country bumpkin living in Pallet Village until that fateful tragedy occurred, where he lost everything.
Truly, a bane of existence to anyone who had to interact with the protagonist.
’Wait a second, if I make William and Sylas team up together. Wouldn’t that bring ruin to the Viren Household without me lifting a finger?’ Ray suddenly thought of a great plan.
The protagonist’s plot armor was strong, but it was reserved for William only.
The same could not be said of those he interacted with, especially when they were not women.
He made up his mind and decided to act as planned.
Villain Extra: Rogue Reader shall be on display for the first time.
"It’s you again?" Ray snorted coldly and glanced at him in disdain. "What are you doing here this time? Standing up without understanding the situation again? Are you really that free, dude?"
"I am not free." William didn’t quite understand the term ’dude’, but he had a feeling it was some insulting word.
"I’ve heard a commotion that someone was blatantly beating other students and cutting in line. I was curious who would dare to blaspheme the Crestallen Academy, and it turns out to be you." William stated solemnly.
His actions appeared no different than the shining knight who came to the rescue.
Many probably thought it was cool, but to Ray, it was cringeworthy.
’Oh my god, can his lines be even more trash?’ He nearly vomited from how overused and cringeworthy the dialogue was.
Just how in the world did he manage to not cringe at these back then?
How did he endure over 5,000 Chapters for this nonsense?
Ah, his brain definitely had rotted at that time and was finally cleansed when he read that horrifying ending.
He suppressed the urge to vomit and tried to think of a villain line befitting that of his role.
But he couldn’t...
He seriously couldn’t bring himself to speak such cringeworthy lines with a straight face.
"Okay, those three asked for a beating, so I merely granted their wish. Then this wannabe prince here wanted to gain some spotlight and paint me as a villain. I’m really pitiful." Ray said tearfully, his face expressing a deep sorrow.
’Oh my god, how shameless!’ Samantha instantly frowned and flashed a disgusted look. She had witnessed everything from the start and knew the truth.
Everything stemmed from him and only him. The others were the real victims of getting beaten up for doing absolutely nothing to him.
"Eh, is that really the case?" William was visibly shocked. It can’t be that he got it wrong again.
’Holy shit! How gullible are you?’ Both Samantha and Sylas held the same thoughts.
They couldn’t believe William would actually fall for such a fake act.
"Of course, not!" Sylas cleared his throat and pointed at the three beaten students.
"You three, go ahead and speak the truth. With me here, you don’t need to worry about anyone." He then stood in front of them and flaunted his clothes.
’Hmph, I dare you to actually lay a hand on royalty.’ Sylas knew very well that the adopted son of a Marquis would never dare to hit him.
This was especially so when he had the moral high ground.
