Chapter 518: Chapter 515: Plotting Because He’s Good-Looking
Anyway, with his current condition, he had no way to leave the emergency room to get something to eat.
He had to rely on He Qianhui, "Didn’t you hear my stomach growling, are you so heartless as to let me starve?"
He Qianhui was unimpressed, "I’m not your wife, how could I do something that only she should do?"
"Maybe I should have my aunt come over, let her take care of you in the hospital for a few days."
"Especially since I’m quite busy with work right now, I really can’t afford to ask my boss for time off."
Seeing He Qianhui say this, Zhang Hao quickly grabbed her hand, "Alright, I was just joking with you, why are you taking it seriously?"
He Qianhui huffed, pretending to be angry, "Why can’t I take it seriously, who knows which of your words are true and which are meant to deceive me."
"Perhaps ever since the day I met you, everything you’ve done has been to deceive me."
Although He Qianhui said she wouldn’t ask her aunt to visit the hospital, Zhang Hao’s mom still made the strenuous trip over.
Even though He Qianhui assured her that Zhang Hao was not in life-threatening danger, a car accident could be minor or serious.
If it were minor, it would just be a scrape, and the driver wouldn’t have any injuries, but if it were a rear-end collision or a rollover, as a mother, she couldn’t help but come over to check on him, simply for peace of mind.
Seeing his mom arrive with food, Zhang Hao was overjoyed.
In fact, He Qianhui was already prepared, taking out her phone to buy him something to eat.
As she was pondering what to get, his aunt arrived.
"This is something your dad made especially for you, eat a bit quickly, how on earth did you get into an accident?"
"Did they catch the person who hit you? He has to not only pay for your medical expenses but also for your lost wages and emotional distress."
"Do you think the driver might have been driving without a license, not knowing how to drive but still hitting the road, hence hitting you?"
As for the details of the accident, Zhang Hao was not clear about them now.
When he woke up, the traffic police had already gone, and everything was settled.
About when he could be discharged, they still had to wait for the doctor’s judgment. But Zhang Hao himself was a doctor—he knew these bones and muscles might take a hundred days to heal.
Even if he were to leave the hospital, he would have to stay in bed at home for a while, something he should mention to the hospital’s management soon.
He couldn’t go to work in his present condition and had to be under observation in the hospital for a couple more days to make sure there was nothing seriously wrong.
With the help of his parents, he finally returned home.
Since He Qianhui also had to work and couldn’t be with him 24 hours a day to take care of him,
After discussing it, Zhang Hao decided to go back to his parents’ house to be cared for by them for a while.
When he was able to walk again, he’d come back on his own.
The thought of not seeing her man for a while truly made He Qianhui reluctant to part.
"What’s wrong? Yesterday you were pushing me away, and today you’ve changed your tune, even starting to cry," Zhang Hao said.
He Qianhui wiped the corner of her eye, "Who’s changed? You know all you do is joke with me here. I’m just worried because you’ve injured your leg and it’s inconvenient for you to move."
"Uncle and auntie are getting on in years too, and now the two of them have to take care of you. If it really doesn’t work out, I’ll hire a live-in nanny for you to take care of your three meals a day."
Zhang Hao pretended to ponder, "Then you’ll have to find me a male nanny. If it’s a woman, I wouldn’t mind her helping me eat and sleep."
"But what about going to the bathroom and showering, surely you don’t expect her to help me with that?"
He Qianhui objected, "She’s just a nanny, can’t I do those things for you?"
After hearing this, Zhang Hao laughed heartily, "Why are you so eager to bathe me, huh? But I just won’t let you."
If it wasn’t for the fact that he was injured right now, He Qianhui wouldn’t have had this much patience to waste her breath on him.
"What do you want to eat? I’ll go get it for you in a bit."
"My dad and mom are watching over me, how could they let me eat whatever I want? You just rest here for a while, these last couple of days I’ve seen you haven’t really rested well," Zhang Hao said.
How could she possibly sleep knowing her boyfriend had been seriously injured?
She was just thinking about the call from the traffic police brigade regarding compensation.
The other party claimed they would let their insurance company take full responsibility.
As for why they couldn’t stop the car, the reason had finally been investigated and made clear.
It turned out that during the drive, the driver got into a fight with his girlfriend in the passenger seat.
Caught in an emotional state, by the time he realized he needed to hit the brakes, it was already too late.
The collision was solid, but luckily the car Zhang Hao bought was sturdy and did not deform from the impact, so a broken bone was actually a minor injury in comparison.
Since the other party was willing to offer compensation, He Qianhui and Zhang Hao also didn’t want to pursue the matter further.
In the blink of an eye, over half a month passed, and Zhang Hao could finally get out and about in a wheelchair.
During this half-month, his colleagues had all but worn out the doorstep of his parents’ home.
They either came to visit or to bring things, and even some of his former patients, upon finding out where he was staying, hurried over with some nutritious gifts.
Despite being confined to a bed for half a month, he had also gained a fair bit of weight.
When He Qianhui noticed this issue, she couldn’t help but urge him to control his diet once the cast was removed.
He couldn’t just keep letting himself go. If he continued to gain weight, he would become unattractive.
Zhang Hao thought about it, his current state of life could be described as having few desires and needs.
Even if he did have any cravings, his body wouldn’t allow it.
He hadn’t even adjusted yet, and now he was expected to live a life with dietary control, which seemed quite harsh.
But under He Qianhui’s supervision, Zhang Hao didn’t dare to refuse.
Once Zhang Hao could walk around freely with a crutch, He Qianhui also brought him back home to care for him.
Although their parents were reluctant to let their son out of their sight, they eventually couldn’t argue with their son’s insistence.
Back at home, Zhang Hao could finally feel free, and also had the opportunity to satisfy some of his inward desires.
It was only his leg that was the problem, not "the third leg", so he certainly could let He Qianhui be on top!
But as soon as He Qianhui realized what he was thinking, she immediately shot down the idea.
"With things as they are, you’re still thinking about doing that? Can’t you consider your condition? I’m going to make something light for you today, I think you’ve been eating a bit too greasy these past days."
Upon hearing that, Zhang Hao flipped over: "You always want to make light meals, but don’t you realize the most important thing I’m lacking right now is nutrients?"
"Meat, protein, could all help promote the growth of my bones, if you make it too light..."
"What if one day my dad and mom come over and see me all skinny, they would definitely feel heartbroken," Zhang Hao said.
This posed a dilemma for He Qianhui; if she just kept feeding Zhang Hao nutrient-rich meals without restraint,
let alone his body’s recovery speed, he would end up gaining too much weight.
The very reason he had been attracted to Zhang Hao in the first place was largely because of his good looks.
