Chapter 477: Chapter 474: Postponed for a Few Days

Zhang Hao spoke very directly, and the older sister also sighed in understanding.

"I get it, I get it. Young folks nowadays all want to have children early. But I trust you, just could you please keep it down these next couple of days? Once the meds kick in, you can do whatever you want."

It seemed this sister was reasonable too, and Zhang Hao nodded in agreement.

After seeing the sister out, He Qianhui leaned against the dining table.

"It looks like we were still too intense last night."

Zhang Hao shook his head: "I think this sister got the wrong person. There are young people among our neighbors too."

"Who knows who’s been more intense than us. Our bed is fixed to the wall and it’s a floor-standing bed."

"There’s no way it could make too much noise. If there was any noise, it must have been you screaming too loudly."

Being teased like this by Zhang Hao, He Qianhui grabbed a water cup and threatened to throw it at him.

But then she remembered the cup was quite expensive when she bought it, even if she was really willing to throw it away.

Once it shattered on the floor, she’d have to clean it up herself, which would just be making trouble for herself.

"If it wasn’t for this cup being so pricey, I would have smashed it on you already," He Qianhui said.

Zhang Hao quickly ran over and took the cup from her hand: "Hit me, and it’s your own heart that would ache. I know you care about me too much to do it."

After getting a bit closer again, Zhang Hao finally readied himself to go downstairs to eat something.

He Qianhui naturally followed. Having returned to this familiar place, she knew everything around.

Zhang Hao hadn’t come here often before and didn’t know much about the area.

"Come on, this is your home turf. Lead me to a place where we can have a good meal."

He Qianhui looked around, recalling that there was a noodle shop nearby she often visited with Liu Gang.

The owner knew her, but this time she was with Zhang Hao. If the owner asked her about it, what would she say?

Moreover, she hadn’t been seen in this area for quite some time, yet as they walked, Zhang Hao directly spotted that noodle shop.

"How about we eat here? Look, there are quite a few customers inside."

Seeing that Zhang Hao had decided to eat in this restaurant, He Qianhui didn’t care that much anymore.

But she still made it clear to him that should the owner ask any questions, he shouldn’t lie. Just tell the truth.

It was obvious He Qianhui often ate here, and Zhang Hao understood her worries.

"No worries. They don’t know me. Couldn’t I just be your new boyfriend?"

Zhang Hao pulled He Qianhui into the shop, and sure enough, the owner recognized her instantly.

He even took the initiative to greet her: "Haven’t seen you come for a meal in a long time, where have you been?"

He Qianhui quickly bowed her head, not wanting to directly answer the owner’s question.

Zhang Hao stepped up at this moment and said, "We’ve been dealing with house renovations, so we haven’t stayed around here. Didn’t expect the boss to remember us."

The owner was somewhat stunned to see Zhang Hao: "Who are you? I remember this lady’s partner was a very down-to-earth guy."

Zhang Hao hesitated, but before he could speak, He Qianhui told the truth: "I’ve split up with that person. This is my new partner. Boss, everything’s the same as before."

The owner wasn’t gossipy and got the message as soon as He Qianhui said this.

These days, getting married, divorced, and remarried had become common, not even surprising anymore.

Why not divorce if things aren’t working out. Better than the two people torturing each other, living like years each day.

"Alright then, you two find a seat, the noodles will be ready shortly."

He found a spot near the air conditioner, worried that the direct blast might chill He Qianhui.

So he had her sit opposite him.

"I didn’t realize it, but you seem to have a pretty good rapport with people around here," complimented Zhang Hao.

"Of course I do," He Qianhui said with obvious pride.

As two bowls of noodles were served, Zhang Hao quickly peeled a couple of garlic cloves, eyeing the deliciously red oily noodles: "How about we get a plate of braised beef too?"

Previously, when He Qianhui dined here, Liu Gang would always order a plate of braised beef.

But this time, with Zhang Hao, she hesitated and then shook her head, "Let’s have some cold dishes instead, the beef in the noodles is already enough."

Zhang Hao didn’t insist and asked the owner for a plate of cold dishes, then started eating eagerly.

The noodles were smooth and had a nice chew, and the soup was made from long-simmered beef bones, indeed tasty and by no means inferior to those from big noodle houses.

After dinner, they strolled around the area before finally heading home.

As soon as they got back, He Qianhui received a call from her female neighbor: "You’ve finally moved over."

"I think I just saw the two of you, but it was too far to say hello. Which building are you in?"

Surprised by the neighbor’s voice, He Qianhui promptly gave her apartment number and building number.

"Okay, got it. We’ll come over for dinner tonight, prepare something nice," the female neighbor said.

The thought of having guests over for the evening dinner had them heading back out to the supermarket even before they entered their apartment building.

Unsure what the others wanted to eat, He Qianhui prepared according to her own preferences.

Still, she took a moment to message the female neighbor on WeChat, giving her a chance to request anything special she might want to eat.

The neighbor’s reply was that she wanted braised pork.

This dish wasn’t as difficult as she had imagined, and He Qianhui knew how to cook it.

After purchasing the groceries, she spent an entire afternoon preparing.

By the time the female neighbor arrived, everything had just been served on the table.

Naturally, the neighbor didn’t come empty-handed; she brought fruit and a red envelope, so the dinner wasn’t exactly free.

"I sent a message to my husband; he’ll be here in a moment. Doctor Zhang, could you check how I’ve been recovering lately?" the female neighbor said.

While waiting for her husband, Zhang Hao quickly took her pulse.

"At the moment, it looks good. Once you finish this round of medicine, I will adjust your prescription. At least now, your body can handle stronger medications, so it’s fine to go a bit more aggressive," he said.

"Great, I also feel that my body is much stronger than before, all thanks to meeting you."

"Otherwise, I might never have been able to have children in my life. I’ll tell you, my period was about the 10th last month, and it still hasn’t come."

Upon hearing this, He Qianhui hastened over, "Today is already the 15th, though it’s possible for it to be delayed by a few days."

"Why don’t you test it yourself at home? If you are indeed pregnant, you wouldn’t want to affect the baby’s development because of the medication."

The woman was somewhat nervous upon hearing He Qianhui’s suggestion and quickly looked at Zhang Hao.

"Doctor Zhang, do you think I should take a test at home?" she asked.

Zhang Hao shook his head, "Go to the hospital tomorrow. Get checked there for more accurate results."

As they were speaking, there was a knock at the door. He Qianhui hurried to open it and saw the woman’s husband standing outside.

In his hands were fruit, and a bottle of red wine!
