Chapter 470: Chapter 467 Ambiguous Atmosphere
Despite He Qianhui’s efforts, she couldn’t stop Zhang Hao, and they ended up being intimate in the car together.
Zhang Hao was worried about the possibility of altitude sickness, so his movements weren’t as urgent as they would be at home.
Instead, they were slow and forceful, extinguishing the fire of desire in both of their hearts, lying in the back seat panting heavily.
Just then, someone knocked on the car window.
The sudden interruption startled them, and Zhang Hao quickly got dressed and sat up, rolling down the window.
Qianhui grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around herself, but anyone with experience would know what had happened,
just by looking at their flushed, sweat-drenched faces.
Moreover, the ambiguous scent of the two filled the car.
The person who knocked on the window was a man wearing sunglasses, a white T-shirt with letters, and a pair of cargo pants.
One could tell from his outfit that he was also a tourist.
Zhang Hao asked what was the matter.
The man pointed ahead and said, "Our car was supposed to take a couple of laps on the grassland, but it got stuck and we couldn’t get it out. I specifically came over to see if you were still here. Your car is powerful, could you help us pull it out?"
Anyone would be willing to do such a thing, and Zhang Hao had even fantasized about such a rescue scenario when he rented the car.
Zhang Hao turned and glanced at He Qianhui, who was just wrapped in a blanket, thankfully the blanket was large enough to cover her entire body.
"Okay, then get in the car, I’ll be right there," he said.
The man opened the passenger door and got in.
It was unclear whether he was simply eager to sort out his car or a gentleman, but he did not keep looking back.
Qianhui, however, dared not relax even a bit, keeping herself tightly wrapped in the blanket, only her head showing.
At this moment, Zhang Hao hadn’t even had time to put on his underwear, just his shorts, and he sat back down in the driver’s seat.
Driving to the scene of the incident, they saw several people pushing a car vigorously from behind,
but it wouldn’t budge an inch. After securing the tow strap, Zhang Hao stepped on the accelerator and gave it a try,
successfully pulling the car out.
With the rescue a success, the man came up to Zhang Hao and thanked him profusely, "Thank you so much, brother. Without your car, mine would probably be a goner by now. I just bought it not long ago; it would have been so painful to lose it here."
Zhang Hao just said there was no need for courtesy, it was good to help out when you’re on the road.
Since the scenery there was quite nice, Zhang Hao also urged He Qianhui to hurry up, get dressed, and come out to take some photos.
The man parked his car in a relatively flat area, took a tent and some cooking supplies from the back,
and it seemed like he was planning to set up camp there.
Originally, Zhang Hao had intended to buy some of this equipment to spend the night here, but Qianhui felt it wasn’t safe to sleep in such a place.
Playing here during the day and watching the stars at night was nice, but staying overnight was not an option.
First, because there were few people around, what if they were robbed by passing criminals?
Second, the temperature varied a lot between day and night; what if someone got sick by accident?
The last thing Qianhui liked to do was to gamble on ’what ifs.’
Yet seeing them set up camp, she did feel a bit of envy. Zhang Hao could see the envy in her eyes.
The group, grateful for Zhang Hao’s help, also expressed their thanks, and one of the girls ran over and said,
"It’s getting late, time for lunch. Do you have your own food in the car? If not, come and join us. We brought plenty, and it would be a waste if we can’t finish it all."
Upon receiving the invitation, He Qianhui and Zhang Hao looked at each other, "Then we won’t be polite, but we can pay."
The girl said with a laugh, "What’s this about money? If it weren’t for your help, we wouldn’t be in the mood to bother with food right now."
Speaking of food, it was just some meat they had prepared in advance, with charcoal lit for grilling and soup boiling away.
The man even took a charging speaker from the car and played music on it.
Another girl, holding a sports camera, went around filming everyone nonstop.
He Qianhui did not want to be on camera and buried her head in Zhang Hao’s embrace.
It wasn’t until the girl with the camera sat back down that they parted.
"Beauty, you’re so pretty. Why are you afraid of the camera? You’re not some internet celebrity worried about the impact after appearing online, are you?"
He Qianhui waved her hands repeatedly, "No, no, no, I just don’t like taking photos. I’m not scared of the camera or anything like that."
Once the barbecue was ready, everyone gathered around the table eating and drinking. Since they had to drive back later, Zhang Hao didn’t dare to drink alcohol and just had a bottle of soda.
But He Qianhui did have some fruit wine with the other women, sour and sweet, and quite tasty.
By the time they were heading back, He Qianhui was sitting in the passenger seat, talking nonsense.
Zhang Hao held her hand tightly and said, "Alright, be a little more alert. I remember you used to drink more than this without any issue. Why are you reacting so strongly this time?"
He Qianhui didn’t really know herself and tried to force some clarity, but she couldn’t help feeling the road in front of her starting to spin.
It felt like continuously shaking noodles, "Drive slower, there’s a pothole ahead."
Zhang Hao looked at the straight road stretching before them; where was there any pothole?
When they got back to the hotel, they had no idea what the situation with the couple in the room diagonally across was.
But Zhang Hao didn’t bother to find out and carried He Qianhui into their room, gently placing her on the bed.
Seeing her sleep in a drunken stupor was really quite cute. He sneakily took a couple of photos and posted them on his social circle.
The post immediately received likes and comments from his colleagues at the hospital; some saying how pretty his sister-in-law looked, others reproaching Zhang Hao for taking photos of her while she was asleep. Opinions were mixed.
Zhang Hao then went out to buy some food, thinking they would just have something simple for dinner that night.
With plans for the next day, he didn’t want to stay up too late. In the middle of everything, he tried to wake up He Qianhui to have her eat something before going back to sleep, but she was grouchy when awoken and didn’t want to wake up.
After several failed attempts, Zhang Hao had to give up, but he readied the food anyway.
In case she woke up hungry in the middle of the night, it’d be there for her to eat.
In the end, He Qianhui slept the whole night through without even showing signs of waking up.
Zhang Hao was as impressed as he was surprised; she could be so peaceful after drinking, which was nice.
In the morning, the hotel delivered breakfast, just simple noodles and steamed buns, no bread and milk.
This kind of fare was actually quite comforting, but He Qianhui hadn’t eaten the night before.
Now with her stomach growling fiercely, she ate with gusto. Zhang Hao gave her his portion as well.
He made do with some bread and vacuum-packed chicken legs; anything to let her eat better.
He tore open the packaging for another chicken leg and added it to the mix.
"Eat slowly, you didn’t eat last night, so be careful not to eat too quickly and upset your stomach," he cautioned.
No sooner had he spoken than the sound of an argument erupted outside. He immediately knew it was that couple.
Before going to sleep last night, Zhang Hao hadn’t heard any noise from outside and thought that the pair must have checked out already.
After all, the girl had mentioned buying plane tickets home early that morning.
And since he hadn’t seen them upon returning, he assumed they had already left.
