Chapter 405: Chapter 402 A More Prosperous Life

As soon as he entered the department, before he even had the chance to greet other colleagues, something was laid on the desk.

Zhang Hao was very curious and went over to take a look, only to find that it was actually a banner of honor.

Judging by its appearance, it must be new. Early in the morning, with the hospital not yet open, how did someone manage to place a banner on his desk?

He unfurled it and saw only four words: "Masterful Medical Expertise."

The signature read Zhou Yun.

Zhang Hao thought for a long time before he remembered who that was.

One by one, other colleagues arrived and saw Zhang Hao standing in front of his desk, looking at the banner with undeniable envy.

They had been working here for some time.

But so far, not a single one of them had received a banner from a patient.

By comparison, Zhang Hao really was the pillar of the department.

The fact that he received so many banners was enough to prove how formidable his skills were.

But at this moment, Zhang Hao simply couldn’t bring himself to feel happy.

Given the current situation, he had an unresolvable connection with that woman, Zhou Yun.

"Who put this thing on my desk, and why didn’t they even call me?"

Upon hearing Zhang Hao’s question, the young nurse quickly raised her hand and said,

"It was me who put it there. Last night, while I was organizing the equipment here, I saw someone rushing over."

"They said they wanted to deliver a banner for you, but at that time, there was no one else in the department except me; everyone else had already left for the day."

"After I confirmed who it was for, I let her leave the banner on your desk. Mr. Zhang, you’re not upset with me for doing that, are you?"

Actually, Zhang Hao just wanted to know the whole process of the event.

But even considering all the implications, receiving a banner was proof of his excellent medical skills.

It was somewhat like indirect advertising for himself.

After putting away the banner, Zhang Hao started his day of patient consultations.

There were elderly and children, men and women; if it wasn’t discomfort here, it was unease there.

After a thorough examination by Zhang Hao, most didn’t have any physical disease.

It was mostly psychological discomfort, and as the saying goes, "the healer of a mind must understand the heart," which as a director of traditional Chinese medicine, he couldn’t help much with.

It wasn’t until close to the end of the workday that the flow of patients suddenly stopped.

Looking at the calling system, it showed no one was waiting.

Zhang Hao suddenly felt that today was truly strange.

But he didn’t have time to ponder what exactly was happening.

He quickly drove to the airport.

The moment Zhang Hao arrived there, He Qianhui’s plane landed steadily a second later.

She hurriedly pulled her luggage and dashed out, while Zhang Hao was waiting on the roadside holding a large bouquet of roses red as blood.

In the crowd, He Qianhui accurately spotted him.

Then she was drawn by the blood-red roses.

Zhang Hao also frantically waved at her, as if afraid she wouldn’t see him.

It had only been a couple of days since they last saw each other, but it felt like it had been an entire century.

When He Qianhui reached Zhang Hao, all the grievances she suffered during this collaborative project nearly burst out at that moment.

Seeing her aggrieved face, Zhang Hao suddenly realized that in addition to preparing surprises for her, he also needed to care for her emotions.

On her business trips, she was bound to encounter some odd men.

If any one of them had some thoughts about her while he was thousands of miles away, he wouldn’t be able to stop them.

"What’s wrong? You’ve never been like this when you came back from business trips before, why are you crying this time?"

Zhang Hao gently wiped away the tears from the corners of He Qianhui’s eyes with his thumb.

But she didn’t say anything, just wrapped her arms tightly around Zhang Hao’s waist.

There were many people coming and going here, and soon the two of them became a special scene in this place.

Zhang Hao didn’t rush to ask what was wrong, he simply let her hold on to him.

It was probably more than ten minutes before He Qianhui finally let go.

"Nothing happened, I just missed you so much. I suddenly couldn’t help myself just now, but don’t worry about it, I’ve always been this way."

Seeing her explain to him, Zhang Hao suddenly found her particularly adorable.

"If you were wronged outside, you must tell me, but if you saw a handsome guy outside, then you must hide it from me."

He Qianhui laughed at his words, "Do you think handsome guys are everywhere? Look at the people coming and going, how many of them can be considered handsome? But you are one of them."

Driving home with He Qianhui, Zhang Hao had prepared everything to welcome her back.

He knew she was tired, and there wasn’t enough time for her to rest and get dressed properly.

So he arranged the candlelight dinner at home.

There was no need for any special ceremony, not even the need to dress too formally.

The timing was just right; the two had just changed into home clothes.

The takeout delivery arrived just then.

They checked everything against the receipt, item by item.

Only when he was sure nothing was missing did he bring the takeout back.

Seeing the lavish spread prepared by Zhang Hao, He Qianhui looked at her somewhat rough home clothes.

She suddenly felt it didn’t quite match the occasion.

"With such a feast, how can I be dressed like this? I should change into a dress."

However, Zhang Hao took hold of He Qianhui’s hand and said softly, "It’s just the two of us; no need for so much formality."

Hearing what Zhang Hao said, He Qianhui smiled gently.

"You always indulge me, knowing I’m tired and not wanting me to spend more energy on unimportant things," she said.

"Given enough time, I might become even more spoiled."

"I want to spoil you like a little girl. How about that? Are you satisfied?" Zhang Hao said.

He Qianhui didn’t answer for a moment but went to the kitchen to get the bowls and chopsticks.

In response to what Zhang Hao had just said, she didn’t care about her figure tonight.

"I remember we still have some wine at home; tonight, we won’t stop until we’re drunk."

Although He Qianhui didn’t spend much effort on dressing up at that time,

Zhang Hao felt she was more beautiful and enchanting than ever.

They got some beer and poured a glass for each – admiring the golden liquid topped with white froth.

The two sat on the carpet in front of the coffee table and clinked their glasses together.

"About that call I made to you last night, did it scare you?"

"Were you afraid I actually fell for that client and would abandon you to lead a happier life?"

Zhang Hao put down his glass, his face very serious.

"If you feel that person can offer you a better life, you are free to make the right choice."

"But since you didn’t do that, it proves he had nothing that attracted you. Am I right?"
