Chapter 265: Chapter 262 Infiltrator
Gu Yue couldn’t hold back the urge any longer and urinated while in Zhang Hao’s arms.
In the dim light, it wasn’t very clear, but her heart was already filled with shame and despair.
"How long have you been holding it in? It’s so much."
Zhang Hao’s words rang in her ears, but Gu Yue didn’t pay any attention to them.
After she finished urinating, Zhang Hao still didn’t put her down, continuing to hold her.
She didn’t speak, and Zhang Hao didn’t seem to mind.
"You’ve peed on my hand, do you want to smell it?"
Gu Yue turned her head away, using the action as a rejection.
"Actually, urine isn’t dirty, it’s quite clean, and in extreme situations, it’s drinkable."
Whether it was drinkable or not, Gu Yue didn’t know, but she was very clear that this wasn’t an extreme situation.
"Can you put me down first?"
"No, I’ll carry you in. You’ve been wearing high heels all night, aren’t your feet tired?"
Gu Yue sighed in her heart, she really had no way to deal with Zhang Hao.
She had expected Zhang Hao to put her on the genuine leather sofa in the living room when they entered the house in such a childish manner.
Unexpectedly, he went straight upstairs.
"Which is your bedroom?"
Although he had visited during the day, Zhang Hao only knew where the cloakroom was; as for which room she slept in, that was still unknown.
Gu Yue, however, sighed with relief and said, "Second floor on the left, the second room."
Gu Yue’s weight had been consistently between ninety and a hundred pounds all year round.
Even though Zhang Hao didn’t spend too much time working out, as a normal man, he was still strong.
He carried Gu Yue to her room without showing any signs of strain or fatigue, not even taking a deep breath.
But Gu Yue should have expected Zhang Hao’s strength.
If he wasn’t strong, how could he last so long every time?
Thinking back from the first time to today, Gu Yue was left feeling sore and weak each time by him.
It was evident that Zhang Hao’s physical and core strength were exceptional.
Finally, Gu Yue was tossed onto the bed by Zhang Hao, regaining her freedom at last.
She hurriedly straightened her dress.
"Why bother fixing your clothes? They’re going to be taken off in a bit."
Gu Yue gave him a cold look, just as she was getting ready to take off the jewelry one by one.
The lights suddenly went out.
Not just the bedroom light, but the lights in all the rooms upstairs and downstairs went out all at once.
Zhang Hao took out his cellphone, turned on the flashlight, and its feeble glow was all there was.
"Stay in your room, don’t move. Where’s the electrical box? I’ll go check it out."
"The electrical box is in the utility room on the first floor; let me take you there."
After saying that, Gu Yue stood up and reached the door. As the door opened, Zhang Hao suddenly held it shut with one hand.
Gu Yue was startled, "What are you doing?"
Zhang Hao didn’t answer, at the same time turning off the flashlight on his phone.
He then put his finger to his lips and shushed her.
His actions instantly made Gu Yue feel a trace of danger.
When she first bought the townhouse, she emphasized safety, deeming it most important to the real estate agent.
The agent installed double door locks, which couldn’t be opened without Gu Yue’s fingerprint and password.
However, the windows were the only other way into the house, so before moving in,
she had specially installed very sturdy glass.
But considering Zhang Hao’s actions just now, he probably suspected someone had gotten inside the house.
Who could have come in?
Gu Yue couldn’t understand, how had the intruder gotten in?
"You wait for me in the room, I’ll go out, and before I come back, don’t open the door to any noise outside," Zhang Hao instructed.
Gu Yue suddenly became tense upon hearing Zhang Hao’s words and subconsciously grasped his hand.
"Should we call the police? The nearest police station is only a fifteen-minute drive from here, and you’re recklessly going downstairs now. I’m worried it could be dangerous."
While Gu Yue’s idea was sensible, Zhang Hao felt that he couldn’t just wait to be cornered, he needed to come up with a plan.
"Alright, you call the police, I’ll go downstairs to take a look. If I get the chance, I’ll subdue him. I’ll ensure my own safety," Zhang Hao said.
Gu Yue nodded. The entire second floor of the building was now shrouded in pitch darkness.
However, having just spent so long in the dark, their eyes had started to adjust to the blackness surrounding them.
Opening the door gently, trying not to make any noise, Zhang Hao stepped out.
Gu Yue couldn’t bear to close the door right away.
Only after Zhang Hao’s figure disappeared at the stairwell did she close the door and lock it from the inside.
While descending the stairs, Zhang Hao also held his breath and concentrated, slowing his pace as much as possible.
Fortunately, the stairs weren’t wooden, or else every step would have creaked loudly, essentially signaling the intruder.
Upon reaching the first floor, Zhang Hao looked around—the living room was empty.
The dining room and kitchen had potential hiding spots, though.
Moving silently, Zhang Hao went to the kitchen and took a chef’s knife from the knife block.
He didn’t know how sharp the knife was, but it would certainly deter the intruder to some extent.
Plus, he was a doctor, and there was a joke on the internet:
When a doctor attacked someone with dozens of stabs, each one strategically missed the vital spots.
Exaggerated as it might be, Zhang Hao wanted to give it a try.
Meanwhile, Gu Yue, who was hiding in the room, quickly dialed the emergency number.
If they could just hold out for fifteen minutes, they would be safe.
The moment Gu Yue hung up the phone, the lights in the house suddenly turned on.
Gu Yue quickly shut her eyes, and after a while, she adjusted to the brightness of the room.
Since the power was restored, it seemed that Zhang Hao had found the fuse box and switched the breaker back on.
At least now they could look for the stealthy intruder under bright conditions.
Gu Yue quickly changed out of her long dress.
Now that they could see clearly around them, she had no reason to stay in the room any longer.
She needed to go downstairs to help Zhang Hao.
The only thing in the room that could be considered a weapon for self-defense was a baseball bat.
With a firm swing at either the head or body, this could inflict significant damage on an assailant.
Landing a lethal blow and subduing him wouldn’t be a problem.
Gu Yue gripped the baseball bat tightly, took a deep breath, and opened the door.
However, just as the door opened, a strange face stood in front of her.
Gu Yue instinctively swung the baseball bat in her hands.
But the bat stopped midway in the air.
The stranger tightly held it, all the while giving Gu Yue a sinister smile.
Gu Yue immediately thought of a movie scene she had seen before, where an intruder assaulted a woman who lived alone.
Was she, by some unlucky chance, going to be the protagonist of that movie today?
But she wasn’t alone; Zhang Hao was downstairs.
She wondered if the man was aware that someone else was in the building.
With no uncertainty, Gu Yue knew what to do—since she couldn’t wrestle the baseball bat from him, she would scream.
"Zhang Hao, he’s upstairs, hurry up!" she yelled.
Zhang Hao, who was still searching downstairs, immediately turned around upon hearing Gu Yue’s voice.
