Chapter 165: Chapter 163: The Girl I Like
Zhang Hao sat in the chair, watching the bustling crowd before him, and also noticed Gu Yue, mingling and toasting with others.
She was like a star, shining brilliantly among so many people.
"Handsome, is this seat taken?"
The woman’s voice pulled Zhang Hao out of his thoughts "No, it’s not taken. Please, go ahead."
"You’re a doctor, I’m honored to meet you. The person you just attended to is my aunt."
Hearing the word ’aunt’, Zhang Hao quickly turned around, scrutinizing the woman before him.
She indeed bore a slight resemblance to the woman who had fainted earlier.
"How is she doing now? She should be able to get better treatment at the hospital."
The woman nodded, "Actually, the main culprit is my uncle. He’s not very capable, and his current position is all thanks to my aunt."
Zhang Hao was not interested in these personal matters, nor did he want to know so much detail.
"Miss, I’m not aware of this, and knowing doesn’t benefit me either."
The woman giggled, "What’s there to be afraid of? It’s not a secret. I see that you came with Miss Gu, are you two boyfriend and girlfriend?"
Zhang Hao still shook his head, although their relationship wasn’t that of boyfriend and girlfriend, it was indeed something else.
"Then, what is your relationship with her... are you her personal doctor?"
With her imagination stirred, the young woman sought to clarify Zhang Hao’s relationship with Gu Yue.
"Whatever our relationship is, it doesn’t seem that important to you."
The detachment displayed by Zhang Hao sparked a desire within the woman to conquer this challenge.
"Just tell me the truth, what could it possibly change?"
Pressured by the woman’s persistent questioning, Zhang Hao provided a simple four-word answer: "Just friends."
Gu Yue finally managed to extricate herself from the crowd; if she continued drinking, she was sure to make a fool of herself that evening.
But as she turned around, she saw Zhang Hao chatting and laughing with another woman.
Gu Yue found a quiet spot where she wouldn’t draw attention to herself, yet could still observe every move between Zhang Hao and the woman.
Buzz! Buzz!
The phone in his pocket vibrated twice, causing Zhang Hao to hurriedly put down his glass and check the message.
The moment he saw the text, he began to search the room for Gu Yue’s whereabouts; just a second ago she was still drinking and chatting with people.
How could she disappear in the blink of an eye?
"Where are you? I’ll come find you," Zhang Hao replied.
No sooner had he sent the message than he saw the chatbox show that the other party was typing...
"Miss Gu is so worried about you. She’s just over there, go to her quickly."
Zhang Hao hadn’t even fully read the message from Gu Yue before he followed the direction the woman was pointing, and sure enough, he found her.
"Thanks, I’ll excuse myself then."
The woman nodded, but quickly called out to Zhang Hao again: "Doctor Zhang, you saved my aunt, I should really thank you, could I have your contact information?"
"Saving lives is the duty of a doctor, no thanks needed."
Zhang Hao declined the woman’s request and headed straight for Gu Yue.
"Why did you come here? I couldn’t find you just now, gave me quite a scare."
Gu Yue, slightly tipsy, leaned against a pillar and said with curved eyes, "You were chatting so nicely with her just now; to an outsider, you might appear as old friends."
Zhang Hao shook his head, wanting to explain a few words, but the voice of the girl came from behind him.
"Miss Gu, hello, thank you for your friend earlier, he saved my aunt, and just now I was asking for his contact information, but he wouldn’t give it to me."
Gu Yue lifted her eyelids, looked at Zhang Hao, and said, "That’s his own business, we are just ordinary friends, you don’t think I was the one who stopped him from giving it to you, right?"
As a man, Zhang Hao could feel a whiff of smoke from the exchange between the two people.
"Sure, sure, I always want to do good deeds without leaving a name, but alas, my abilities don’t allow it."
After adding the contact information, the girl grabbed Zhang Hao’s phone, and in the remark column, she typed in her own name.
"Doctor Zhang, then I’ll be off first, I need to go to the hospital to see my aunt."
"Doctor Zhang, I’m leaving first..." Gu Yue mimicked.
"Should we also get going? These kind of parties don’t seem very interesting, I’m feeling a bit bored now."
In fact, Gu Yue felt the same way. After notifying a few acquaintances, she took Zhang Hao and left the scene.
Zhang Hao thought he could go straight home, but Gu Yue took him to a hotel.
"Isn’t this..." Before he could finish saying "the way home," Gu Yue had already stopped the car.
"To punish you for talking to that girl today, you have to satisfy me three times."
Zhang Hao looked shocked, hardly believing what he had heard was true.
"Miss Gu, from yesterday until now, you’ve already done it several times, too many times isn’t good for your health."
Gu Yue punched Zhang Hao’s shoulder and said, "I said I want it, so I want it, why make useless talk, you’re just a breathing toy to me now, get on up."
Faced with Gu Yue’s assertiveness, Zhang Hao had to comply, and the two of them returned to the room, which was now neat and tidy.
Gu Yue pushed Zhang Hao to the bed, and without another word, they both lay down.
Before Zhang Hao could start, Gu Yue had already passed out, and without any response, it wasn’t fun. Zhang Hao sighed softly and pulled the blanket over her.
Having set the air conditioning in the room, Zhang Hao left.
By the time he got home it was nearly dawn, his parents had already gone to bed, and Zhang Hao didn’t want to make too much noise.
He tiptoed back to his room and went straight to sleep.
The next morning, after breakfast, Zhang Hao went to work. Just as he got downstairs and before he could get into his car, a red sports car stopped in front of him.
Thinking he was blocking the other’s way, Zhang Hao stepped aside.
"Doctor Zhang, what a coincidence, we meet again."
Zhang Hao recognized her at once as the girl he met at last night’s party.
"Why are you here? Could it be that..."
"I’m looking for you, my home isn’t around here," the girl said, and then added, "Get in, I’ll give you a ride."
Zhang Hao wanted to refuse, but the girl was persistent and insistent.
He got into the sports car, and the space inside was not large. Zhang Hao, with his height of over 1.8 meters, felt quite cramped.
"The world is really strange, Doctor Zhang and I must really have fate, yesterday my aunt was sent to the hospital where you work."
Zhang Hao was slightly surprised and also marveled at how strange fate could be.
"Doctor Zhang, are you still worried, do you have a girl you like?"
Facing such questions from a girl he didn’t know well, Zhang Hao did not know how to respond.
"I’m currently focused on my career, my work is not yet stable, and I don’t have enough savings, if I were to date, would I be making a girl suffer with me?"
