Chapter 659: Do You Really Trust Christian That Much?
Zen did not expect that Wendy would even speak on Christian’s side.
Didn’t she suspect Christian before?
Why did she stand on his side all the time today?
With confusion, Zen asked Wendy to walk aside and said in a low voice, "Wendy, don’t you think that what happened today was very weird? If Christian is indeed a decent businessman, why was he chased by a drug dealer? Also, just now... " Zen’s voice was very low, but Wendy increased her volume on purpose and interrupted her, "Zen, I believe in Christian. How is it possible that he killed someone on purpose? Didn’t I recall something today? At that time, Christian protected me from a bullet with his own body to save me on the street. How can someone like him do any harm to me?"
"But... " Zen looked gloomy and still wanted to say something.
Wendy patted her on the hand and did not say anything anymore.
She turned around and walked back to Christian. Wendy pretended to be resigned and sighed. She spoke to him, "Christian, you did terrify my best friend with your joke. You know that we have lost our memories and do not remember much about you.
"Although I recalled something and know that you are a nice person and that it is impossible for you to do something like this.
"Zen did not have much of a relationship with you. What shall we do since she is now terrified by you?"
"I am sorry," Christian looked at Zen aside and bowed to her very sincerely. "I am indeed very sorry, Miss Tanner. I did not expect that a joke would cause such a big problem."
"All right, Christian has apologized. Please do not be too narrow-minded, Zen," Wendy walked to Zen again and held her hands.
Christian saw that Zen did not say anything anymore, and he changed the topic.
"Let’s leave here first. The jet has exploded; someone will definitely come here to check the situation very soon."
"Okay," Wendy nodded and followed Christian together with Zen.
Nolvania was a small country, but because it was close to Rheinsville City, Christian had purchased many real estate and had some business there.
But the anti-drug department was watching him all the time, so he did not dare to go to many places.
There was a hidden property that belonged to Christian at Dellon town.
Christian walked for about ten minutes along with Wendy and Zen. Finally, they saw a small road and a car was waiting for them.
"Mr. Lucas, everything is well prepared, please." The man saw that someone was coming towards him, so he immediately got out of the car to welcome them.
"Good job Pierson," Christian patted Pierson on his shoulder.
All of them got into the car.
The car drove in the mountains for about two to three hours before stopping in front of a house.
As soon as the car came to a stop, Pierson got out of the car and opened the door.
"There is plenty of food supplies and necessities in the house. Mr. Lucas, please contact me at any time if you need anything," Pierson said.
"Good," Christian nodded without saying anything else.
After getting out of the car, Wendy kept looking around at the surroundings.
There were trees everywhere here. It should be a forest.
The jet had parked at the border of the forest.
Now they were deep in the forest.
Christian brought them here. Did he plan not to go out for a short time?
There was only one floor in this house - it was built as a shelter.
"Wendy, you have to stay here temporarily for several days," Christian opened the door and made a hand gesture to let them in.
After entering the house, Wendy saw that the house was furnished simply, but necessities were all available.
"How can anyone stay here?" Wendy frowned deliberately and said, "It is separated from society here. I am afraid that I will be depressed if I live here for several days."
...
"Please be rest assured, we can leave here very soon," Christian slightly sighed.
Actually, he did not know how long they needed to stay here.
He was escaping, not traveling here.
It was a problem for Christian how far he could escape and how long he could survive.
Christian looked at Wendy’s familiar face deeply - it seemed that he wanted to engrave her image into his heart.
"You must be hungry; let’s eat first." Christian saw that there were prepared dishes on the table, so he walked there first and said, "Let’s just eat something simple to fill our stomachs."
Wendy sighed, showing that she was unhappy.
She was indeed hungry. She touched her stomach and walked over there as well.
And then Zen and the assistant also followed.
There were only several simple dishes on the table, and they were all cold.
There was no other choice under the current circumstance; they could only fill their stomachs.
Wendy had to feed the baby in her womb even though she did not want to eat.
So, she had to force herself to eat a bowl of rice.
Everyone’s mood was upset while having this meal.
"I am full, and I want to rest. Where shall we rest?" Wendy put down the bowl and the chopsticks.
The assistant stood up at once to look around the rooms.
Very soon, the assistant came back and said, "There are only two rooms here."
Wendy looked at Christian and waited for him to say something.
"You and Zen stay in one room, and my assistant and I will stay in the other room," said Christian.
He wanted to stay with Wendy in one room very much.
But he knew that Wendy would not be willing.
She was not willing to stay with him when they were in Rheinsville City. It was even more impossible for her to stay with him now while escaping.
Christian secretly looked at Wendy’s face, then stopped looking at her as if nothing had happened.
"Then we will go to sleep first. We are too tired," said Wendy.
"Okay," Christian nodded and said nothing else.
Wendy and Zen entered the room together and closed the door. They wanted to lock the door but then figured out that it could not be locked from the inside.
They could only give up.
"Wendy, do you really trust Christian that much?" Zen could not help asking Wendy once again.
"Shh... " Wendy signaled Zen to stop talking with her hand.
Zen was dumbfounded for a moment, not knowing what Wendy had meant.
.....
Michael and Evan arrived at the place where the plane exploded. Seeing that it had shattered into ruins, Michael’s mood was extremely gloomy and cold from head to toe.
"Michael, Ms. Stewart must still be fine. You should not think too much now." Evan was afraid that Michael would break down and comforted him, "Let’s wait for the examination result. Please do not think too much before the result is ready."
"I know," Michael clenched his fist and took a deep breath. "The plane was exploded into ruins by Christian. He must have taken Wendy far away."
Hearing what Michael had said, Evan was quite relieved.
He was worried that Michael would think Wendy was dead when he saw this scene.
"Give me the map," said Michael coldly.
"The map," Evan looked around at the others. "The map of Nolvania and the map of Dellon town; give them to me quickly."
Evan got the maps and handed them to Michael quickly.
Michael put the map on the ground, squatted down, and carefully studied them.
Although Nolvania was not big, they could not search for people blindly.
While Michael was studying the map, Evan gave a command to his men behind him.
"Get in contact with the anti-drug department in Nolvania. Just tell them that Christian has entered Nolvania. Ask them to block all ways to get out of the country and spare no effort to help us search for people."
...
After finishing everything, Evan squatted down to study the map together with Michael.
Seeing that Michael stood up, Evan finally said, "I have asked someone to contact the anti-drug department at Nolvania. They will block the way to get out of the country.
"It might be possible for Christian to disguise himself and get out of the country. But if he plans to take Wendy and Zen together with him and get out of the country, then it is highly likely that he will be arrested.
"So, Michael, please do not feel too anxious; we will look for them together."
"Okay," Michael answered briefly.
He was very worried, but he knew that it was of no use to be worried.
The most urgent thing now was to find Wendy.
Then, Michael pointed to the map and said very carefully, "The plane exploded here.
Christian decided to land at the edge of the forest. He must have known from the beginning that there were not many surveillance cameras here, and it was easy for him to hide.
"And there are several roads to access Dellon town from here - four big roads and two small roads.
"Apart from Dellon town, there are two roads here leading to the adjacent city. But the adjacent city is a big one. If Christian takes them there, it will be easy to be discovered.
"So, I think that Christian would not take them the other way."
It was easy for Christian to run away alone, but he had people with him.
They did not know how many people were with Christian, but they were certain that Wendy and Zen were with him.
As long as they were him, Christian would definitely be arrested if he took the way to the city.
"So, you mean that Christian is in Dellon town?" asked Evan. "Dellon town is not big.
If Christian is still in Dellon town, then we can find them in three days if we start searching with all our efforts now."
"No... " Michael shook his head and frowned slightly.
"What do you mean by saying no?" asked Evan.
"Christian cannot be this foolish," Michael analyzed very carefully. "Christian must have already seen the map that we have now.
"And Nolvania is the adjacent country to Rheinsville City. Dellon town is on the border of the two countries.
"Christian certainly knows Nolvania and Dellon town better than we do.
"Therefore, Christian must have already got the map that we have now. Christian also must have already considered what I have just talked about."
After pausing for a moment, Michael continued, "If I am correct, your men will tell you very soon that they have found traces of the car on a small road."
Right after Michael finished talking, someone walked to them, as expected, and reported to Evan, "Captain, we found the trace of a car on a small road. There are few people on that small road, and the cars are even fewer. Shall we keep tracking along that road?"
Evan’s eyes became brighter when he heard the report.
He looked at Michael, who was still squatting on the ground, and said, "It seems that you do know Christian well."
"We have been rivals for so many years. Not only do I know him well, but he also knows me well," Michael said. "He must think that I will keep tracking in the opposite direction from where the traces of the car are found."
Christian indeed arranged for some people to drive on the small road to confuse Michael.
Of course, he knew that Michael was not that stupid, so he wanted Michael to suspect and then keep tracking in the opposite direction.
However, Christian went in the same direction as the car trace.
However, the car trace at the crossroad halfway was fake.
The direction where the car trace was left was wrong.
They actually went in the direction where there was no car trace.
