Chapter 321: I’m Forcing You
In the next second, Wendy turned and went out of the bedroom. She found a hammer in the utility room.
Bringing in a stool, Wendy climbed up and raised the hammer to smash the wedding photo. The picture of a happy couple broke apart instantly. The glass shattered and splintered all over the place.
"Corrine..." Todd was shocked to see Wendy’s action. He hurriedly walked up and helped Wendy down. He had just seen Wendy go out and then come back in with something. Before Todd could react, the wedding photo was smashed.
After helping Wendy down, Todd saw that Wendy’s face was cut by the glass and said in shock with widened eyes, "You’re hurt, Corrine."
Todd was at a loss for words and tried to help Wendy treat the wound but he was afraid he would hurt her.
"What are you doing smashing this? The frame of the wedding photo is a layer of glass. If you want to smash it, you have to be more careful." Todd said anxiously, "I’m taking you to the hospital."
With that, Todd took Wendy’s hand.
"Am I hurt?" Wendy reached up and touched her cheek and said numbly, "It does seem to hurt a little."
Wendy looked at her fingers which were stained with blood.
"Let’s go to the hospital first," Todd said.
"I’m not going." Wendy shrugged off Todd’s hand, shook her head and said, "It shouldn’t be a big deal."
"Not a big deal? You hurt your face, so what if it leaves a scar?" Todd became increasingly worried.
Wendy went to the dressing mirror and looked at the cut on her face. It wasn’t big, just a little cut.
"It’s just a cut, so just put a band-aid on it." Wendy drew a piece of tissue paper and simply wiped the blood off her face.
Wendy insisted on not going to the hospital, so Todd had no choice.
He could only say anxiously, "Fortunately, it’s just a cut on the face. If the glass had gotten into your eyes, it would have been horrible."
"Yeah, thankfully," Wendy replied casually, without a trace of emotion.
When he saw Wendy like this, there was nothing Todd could do but feel heartbroken. He knew that Wendy would be sad again after seeing the news on the internet. Therefore, when he saw that Yonina was pregnant, he did not tell Wendy at first.
But Jake was also right. Wendy would know about such a big incident sooner or later. All she had to do was go online and she would see the news.
Now, Todd just hoped that Wendy would get over it sooner rather than later. At least she agreed to leave Lake City for Rheinsville City now, and that was a good thing. Time would make a lot of things fade away after she left this sad place.
"Where is the medical kit? I’ll help you treat the wound properly." Todd spoke with a sigh.
"No, I’ll just do it myself," Wendy said, and numbly began to pack her things.
But she found that she indeed had nothing to pack. After strolling around the entire room, she found that everything had memories of Michael.
Wendy simply did not pack anything and went straight out of the bedroom.
Todd found a medical kit this time and insisted on disinfecting Wendy’s wounds.
After the wound was treated, a band-aid was applied. That night, Wendy slept on the couch because the bedroom made her feel sick.
When she saw the big bed, she thought of Michael and her in bed together.
The memory of everything was so clear and so unpleasant.
....
"President," Mr. York walked in from the door with some urgency and saw Yonina also in the office with her eyes slightly downcast.
"If you have something to say, just say it," Michael said indifferently.
Mr. York glanced at Yonina. Since Michael asked him to speak directly, Mr. York did not hesitate to say, "Wendy bought a ticket for tomorrow morning to Rheinsville City."
"I see," Michael said.
When Michael’s reaction was so calm, Mr. York froze a little.
He thought Michael would be anxious.
Mr. York had actually been confused by the recent events.
It was reasonable to say that Michael and Wendy had gone through so much, so how could their relationship break up just because Christian and Yonina had interfered with it?
Now, Yonina was still in Michael’s office.
Not only that, but when he reported things, he actually didn’t need to ask Yonina to recuse herself.
Could it be that the president really liked Yonina?
But this was impossible.
Outsiders didn’t understand the situation and thought that Michael and Yonina were really together in the past, but he knew the situation very well.
Michael and Yonina clearly didn’t have much contact.
In the years when Wendy was away, Michael was a workaholic, so how could he have time for a relationship?
And now, when Michael heard the news that Wendy was leaving, he wasn’t the least bit taken aback.
Mr. York said, "President." Mr. York frowned and asked boldly, "You’re not going to ask Wendy to stay?"
"Of course, I’m going to ask Wendy to stay." Michael sighed, smiled a little bitterly, and said, "Send me the specific flight information later."
"You can’t go!" When Yonina heard Michael say this, she immediately retorted, "If you go, Christian will know. Haven’t you always wanted Wendy to stay away from Lake City? If you go, what if Wendy really stays? Wouldn’t that be a lost cause?"
"I know her. She’s not going to stay just because I’m going." Michael smiled and said, "Wendy can’t bear having grit in her eyes. If you’re worried, just show up when it suits you, or give me a call."
"But... "
Yonina was about to say something else when Michael raised his hand and interrupted her, "I know Christian better than you do. He wants Wendy to leave Lake City, but he’s not stupid. And Wendy and I have been a couple for so many years. If she wants to leave and I don’t even try to keep her, what do you think Christian will think? What I want to do is to show my regret and remorse, but also to try to make the misunderstanding bigger. Since we have to act, it has to be in line with the reality."
Michael was right.
If Michael had acted cold, then it would have seemed too fake.
Originally, Michael was set up in this incident, and it would be too suspicious if he just went along with Christian’s plan.
Mr. York listened to what Michael said and frowned.
He already had some notion of it.
No wonder Yonina kept coming to Michael’s office recently.
Mr. York said, "President, you’re working with Yonina?"
Michael did not answer the question positively, but only said indifferently, "Don’t say a word I didn’t tell you to say, especially to Wendy."
This answer was an admission.
Mr. York’s slightly open mouth slowly closed up.
No wonder the relationship between Michael and Wendy had been deteriorating recently.
It turned out to be Michael’s plan.
However, poor Wendy, who did not know anything yet, was already heartbroken.
Yonina followed Michael and yelled, "Michael, you can’t be too cruel. I’m pregnant with your child now, so you have to account for me and the child!"
"You know better than anyone how this child was conceived," Michael said indifferently. "Yonina, can you have some shame and stop pestering me at the office every day? You are, at least, the daughter of the Collins family. I’m tired of you."
"I’m shameless?" Yonina yelled in anger. "I’ve told you, I’m not sure what happened that night. I was drugged unconscious and woke up sleeping with you. Michael, why are you pretending to be innocent at this time? How can I get pregnant all by myself?"
"You were drugged?" Michael said mockingly. "You drugged yourself?"
"Michael!" Yonina took a big step to catch up with him, reached out and tugged Michael’s hand, then slapped him directly on the face and said, "This child is yours, and you must be responsible for the child!"
Michael reached out and touched the half of his face that had been hit.
His expression grew increasingly heavy, and he said indifferently, "I don’t hit women, so don’t force me."
"I’m forcing you!" Yonina took a step forward and said with a bitter smile, "If you don’t marry me, I will give birth to this child. And then, when the child grows up, I will tell him that his father is shameless and nasty and doesn’t dare to take responsibility!"
"For your own good, and for the good of this child, you’d better abort the child!" Michael said. "Otherwise, you will be the only one who suffers if you give birth to it, and I will not be responsible for it."
"I won’t abort the baby. The doctor said that my health is poor because I have been staying up late and working overtime. If I abort this child, I will never be able to get pregnant in this life."
Yonina shook her head, reached out, and grabbed Michael’s hand. Her tone eased up a bit, and she said, "Michael, Wendy is leaving Lake City tomorrow, and she won’t forgive you. Do you really want to see the baby in my belly without a father? He’s your child."
"Whatever." Michael ignored Yonina again, shook off her hand, and got into the car without mercy.
Yonina stood in the same place while watching Michael drive away in his car and stomped her foot in anger.
In the next second, Yonina took out her cell phone and dialed Christian’s number.
The call was answered quickly, and Yonina angrily said, "No, I can’t take this anymore. I don’t want to pretend I’m pregnant anymore. I can’t take it anymore!"
"Turn around," Christian simply said these two words.
Yonina turned, and her eyes looked around, and sure enough, she saw Christian in an inconspicuous car.
This scene, naturally, was staged by Michael and Yonina themselves.
These days, Yonina had been pestering Michael and running to his office every day.
Christian was not able to place a spy in Michael’s office.
But Christian was watching him and Yonina’s relationship.
Michael knew very well that if he wanted to get Christian to believe them, he had to act like their relationship was bad.
If Michael agreed to marry Yonina right now, Christian would guess that something was wrong.
Christian naturally also arranged for people to secretly investigate them and got a lot of news that Michael and Yonina’s relationship had deteriorated.
However, with his cautious personality, he was only relieved to see it with his own eyes.
Therefore, he came to MC in person today.
Seeing Michael and Yonina arguing, Christian smiled lightly.
It seemed that everything was going well as usual.
