Chapter 298: What Can You Do To Me

Winnie glared at Lily with pure hatred in her eyes, "You bitch! I’m warning you. You’d better leave Anthony now. He’s mine. You will never take him away from me, not in your lifetime!"

"Oops, so sorry to disappoint you...," Lily burst out laughing, "But I have already taken him away from you."

"That’s not possible!" Winnie declared as she continued to struggle against the iron grip of the bodyguards. Straining against their grip, she tried to lunge at Lily, yelling angrily, "You’re lying!"

"Not only have I taken Anthony away from you, but my son has also taken Yonina from your son," Lily remarked.

Deliberately dangling her newly made necklace in front of Winnie, she added, "Do you know why I had this piece of jewelry made?"

"Yonina? Yonina?" Winnie mumbled the name repeatedly as she looked back and forth, obviously very confused.

Once again, Lily spoke up against her ear, "Yeah, Yonina. Don’t you know? In three days’ time, there will be an engagement party to celebrate my son getting engaged to her."

"Engagement party?" Winnie shook her head, saying, "Impossible! Yonina is my daughter-in-law. She belongs to my son, Michael. How could she possibly be getting engaged to your son? You’re lying!"

"HaHaHa!" Lily laughed even louder, continuing, "Everyone knows that the DR Group will be merging with the Collins Group by way of marriage. Don’t tell me you have no idea that this is happening?"

"A merger marriage?" Refusing to believe Lily, Winnie turned to the bodyguards and asked them, "Is she telling the truth?"

The bodyguards kept their heads low, saying nothing.

The helper, being glibber, smiled and said, "It’s fake news, M’m. Think about it. How could she possibly tell you the truth, right?"

"Correct!" Winnie nodded. Then, she turned back to Lily and said defiantly, "Don’t even think about lying to me."

Lily pulled out her phone and swiped to the society news page before passing the phone to Winnie, "If you’re still able to read, you should be able to understand what’s written there."

Winnie’s eyes opened wide instantly when she read the headline of the news article.

Looking incredulous, she shook with rage and pointed her finger at Lily, "You...you..."

"I...I...," Lily deliberately imitated the way Winnie spoke before asking, "What about me?"

Winnie was so infuriated that her blood pressure shot sky high, causing her to asphyxiate.

Suddenly, she let out a piercing scream and pushed with all her strength at the bodyguards to free herself.

Then she dashed at Lily like a crazed woman.

No one on the scene had expected Winnie to behave so hysterically.

Winnie rushed at Lily and slapped her across the face a few times, ranting crazily, "You bitch! I’m going to beat you to death!

"You tramp! You’ve not only stolen my husband but now your son is stealing my daughter-in-law as well!

"I’m going to kill you today to show you what I, Winnie Lucas, am capable of! Go to hell, bitch!"

Now, Lily had also taken her bodyguards with her to the store.

They stepped up immediately to pull Winnie away, shoving her in the process.

And that was how Winnie landed on the floor.

At a time like these, Winnie’s bodyguards would, of course, do their utmost to protect her from harm.

At this moment, both sets of bodyguards were intent on doing their duty in protecting their respective employers.

And so, the bodyguards were embroiled in their fist fights while Winnie and Lily were engaged in their own catfight.

In her currently unstable mental state, Winnie of course had the upper hand in subduing Lily.

As she watched the scene quickly unfold, the helper was at first stunned into inaction.

Then, she came to her senses and, as though reminded of something, she pulled out her phone and called Michael.

Once her call was accepted, the helper said immediately, "Sir, bad news. Mrs. Lucas is engaged in a fistfight with Lily at the mall. We have tried but cannot hold her back."

...

Michael was surprised when he got the call from the helper.

Massaging his temple and looking a tad exasperated, he asked, "Tell me where you are."

He hung up after the helper had given him their exact location, .

Then, getting up from behind his desk, he picked up his car key and told his assistant, "Push back that meeting. I need to go and sort out something now."

He then drove as quickly as he could to the mall where the scene had already quietened down.

Thanks to the presence of the mall’s security team.

Both Winnie and Lily were wearing the scars of their fight, although Lily’s injuries looked worse.

Her face was covered with scratches.

She was nursing her badly scratched cheek gingerly, so angry that she could barely stand up.

She had not expected Winnie to have such exceptional strength in her hysterical state. In fact, she was so strong in her frenzied attack that Lily could barely defend herself.

Before she came here, Lily had intended to fight it out with Winnie and give vent to all that she had had to suffer from Winne all these years.

"Son, you’re here...," Winnie said, running forward to tug at Michael’s shirt sleeve when she saw him.

Pointing at Lily, she complained, "That bitch hit me. Kill her, Michael. Beat her to death now!"

Seeing the bruise at the corner of Winnie’s mouth, Michael scowled.

Swing around, Michael looked menacingly at Lily, "You’ve gone too far!"

Catching the spine-chilling look in Michael’s eyes, Lily’s heart began pounding rapidly in trepidation.

Instinctively, she lowered her head and murmured, "Your mum started it..."

"HaHa...," Michael laughed wryly, continuing, "My mum had been cooped up at home for more than a month and this was her first trip out. Do not tell me that you met her here, by coincidence?"

That one statement meant that Lily’s presence at the store today was no coincidence.

Busted, Lily could not find any appropriate response to his question.

She had no qualms at all about engaging in a catfight with Winnie or having a shouting match with her.

Because she had won Anthony’s heart, which meant that she had won.

But where Michael was concerned, she tended to tread a little more warily.

"Apologize to my mum!" Michael commanded curtly.

"Dream on! Impossible!" Although she was scared of Michael, Lily would definitely not apologize to Winnie.

"Oh really?" Michael scoffed. Then, he took Winnie by the hand and walked her over to Lily, saying, "Mum, slap her to your heart’s content!"

At that, Lily immediately took a few steps backwards.

Nonetheless, she did not account for the fact that Michael could not have come here on his own.

The bodyguards that he had brought with him had formed a ring around her.

And there was no way Lily could escape.

In the next instant, Michael’s bodyguards had restrained her.

Seeing this, Winnie laughed gleefully.

She walked forward and gave Lily a violent slap across the face.

Reeling from the force of the slap, Lily spat out a mouthful of bloodied saliva and shrieked wildly, "Winnie, you..."

But before she could complete what she had wanted to say, Winnie slapped her for a second time.

By now, Lily was getting fearful.

After all, Winnie’s son was here.

Instantly, she uttered, "I’m sorry..."

However, Winnie did not care for her apology and slapped her violently for the third time.

While Michael simply stood there, arms crossed and watching emotionlessly.

Lily’s appearance here was definitely not a coincidence.

And if it was not a coincidence, she should bear the consequences of what she had started.

After Winnie had given Lily a few hard slaps, Michael stepped forward and pulled her away.

Then, the bodyguards who had been holding Lily loosened their grip on her.

Having been slapped many times, Lily was a tad unsteady on her feet and collapsed onto the floor.

She had not expected her day to end with her landing in such a sorry state.

She had merely acceded to Christian’s request to come here and taunt Winnie.

At that moment, Christian appeared.

Seeing that Lily was injured all over, Christian headed to where she sat on the ground.

He walked over in huge steps, reached down and pulled Lily up. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

His gaze scanned the surroundings and he noticed that Michael had brought many men over.

Christian, on the other hand, had not brought many men.

Seeing Christian, Lily’s eyes were instantly full of hope.

She endured the pain as she grabbed Christian’s hand tightly. "Christian, they bullied me! Help me take revenge, you must help me take revenge," she said quickly.

Regardless whether it was Winnie Quinn or Lily Yates, they were both counting on their sons.

Although Lily had won over Anthony Lucas, he had already retired. The power in his hands did not mean much anymore.

The last fight between Lily and Winnie were about their own respective sons.

Michael’s win would represent Winnie’s win. Christian’s win would represent Lily’s win.

"Michael, beat them to death! Hurry up and beat them dead!" When Winnie saw Christian, she became even more excited. Her eyes were full of hatred for Lily and her son.

Michael reached out and patted Winnie on the back, comforting her. Winnie’s mood had never been stable. Christian’s return had once again triggered her.

"What’s going on?" It was as if Christian knew nothing as he face held a look of confusion. "Brother, shouldn’t you give me an explanation?" He asked Michael.

Christian pointed at the injuries on Lily’s body. "You couldn’t have brought so many men to beat up my mother, right?"

Christian used his strategy of feigning innocence quite smoothly.

Michael laughed mockingly and said, "You’re indeed right. It’s to beat up your mother."

"Michael!" Hearing that, Lily pointed a finger at him although her entire body was in pain. "Don’t be so arrogant!"

"What can you do to me?" Michael lifted his head slightly, his eyes squinting at Lily who was in front of him.

Lily was afraid of Michael, but the moment she knew that Christian had come, she became more daring. "I certainly can’t do anything about you, but my son will help me to."

"Haha..." Michael laughed as he nodded to her. Turning his head, Michael looked at Christian. "So, you’re asking me for an explanation?" He questioned him.

"I’d like to ask you instead, why have you come to this shop? Correct me if I’m wrong, but it was my mother who came to this shop first."

"Well...well..." Lily strained her neck as she spoke. "This was just a coincidence. I’ve ordered gems from this shop and was coming to collect them today. If you don’t believe me, you can ask the shop owner."

Although this shop was a high-end customization shop, Christian and Michael were not people with whom they would lie to.

The shop owner was desperate to shrink and hide her existence, not wanting Michael or Christian to notice her. However, she did not think that Lily would have dragged her in directly.

The shop owner ducked her neck as she did not dare to look at any of them in the eye. "Yes," she said in a low voice.

"There are 24 hours in a day, and you just had to come at this time?" Michael questioned. "Perhaps, we could check the surveillance cameras to see just who it was that picked this fight?"

Lily was not willing to check the surveillance cameras, because it was her indeed who had picked a fight with Winnie.

Seeing that Lily no longer spoke, Michael looked at Christian and continued. "Also, I know Lily alone does not have access to information regarding my mother’s whereabouts."

It was not possible that the issue today was a coincidence. If it wasn’t, then it would definitely have to have been Christian who gave Lily this information and then asking her to come pick a fight with Winnie.

Although Michael’s relationship with his mother was not really deep, she was still his biological mother.

When facing off with Christian and Lily, Michael was definitely standing on Winnie’s side.
