Chapter 197: It Predestinated To Be A Special Night
"Don’t blame her. In fact, the Four Seasons collection is so important, you shouldn’t have kept it from me," Wendy sighed, "Michael, my eyes have fully recovered. Although I have lost my memory, I still have inspiration about design. I plan to go to work tomorrow and try to finalize this series to release it according to the plan."
"No way!" Michael immediately refused. "Your eyes are just getting better, and you still need to visit the hospital for regular checks. Moreover, it will take a month to a full recovery. If you go back to work now, excessive use of the eyes will cause secondary damage to your eyes."
"It is not that serious," Wendy knew that Michael was concerned about her and said, "I will protect my eyes and use the computer less often. Jill has already told me about the company’s situation. If I do not go, there is no way to implement the Four Seasons series properly. Don’t worry. I won’t process the digital design draft on a computer but only draw the manuscript. Is that okay?"
"No way." Michael shook his head without any intention of compromising. "Wendy, I hope you understand that you and our children are the most important to me. I can work hard and make up for the loss in the design department in other ways. But you are the unique one in the world, and you only have one pair of eyes. Even if a little accident happens to you during the process of this design, I will regret it for the rest of my life."
"Nothing will go wrong. I promise you." Wendy stretched out a few fingers and looked like she was swearing. "Once I feel any discomfort in my eyes, I will stop working."
"No..." Before Michael could finish his words, Wendy stood on her tiptoes and quickly placed a kiss on his lips, blocking the refusal he was about to say.
Afterward, Wendy lowered her head with a blush on her face, not daring to look at Michael. "Here is the deal. I’ll go to work tomorrow," she said.
After that, Wendy ran back to the bedroom without looking back.
Michael stood alone in the same place with a bit of confusion.
He reached out and touched the lips that Wendy had just kissed, which still seemed to have her temperature on it.
Michael stretched out his tongue and licked his lips. Then like a child, he gradually widened his smile.
Turning around to look at Wendy, who had long since disappeared, Michael immediately followed her into the bedroom.
"Wendy, you just kissed me, didn’t you?" Michael smiled. "Can you do that again? It was happening so fast just now that I did not have time to feel it."
It is the first time Wendy took the initiative to kiss him.
At the beginning of their marriage, although Wendy loved him very much, she knew that Michael hated her therefore she never dared to take the initiative to touch him.
If Wendy had merely touched the corner of Michael’s shirt, he would give her the cold shoulder, let alone kiss each other.
Any few intimate interactions only happened when Michael got drunk.
When Wendy returned to Lake City, she was unlikely to take the initiative to approach him.
Wendy coughed lightly to hide her embarrassment and said, "No, I did not kiss you."
Michael walked straight forward, pulled Wendy into his arms with one hand, lowered his head, and took the initiative to put his lips over, "One more kiss, please. Just one more."
"Who wants to kiss you." Wendy struggled, but her tone was soft and charming.
How could Michael still hold himself together when seeing Wendy like this?
Michael directly hugged Wendy and put her on the bed as if looking at a precious treasure.
Then he asked in a low and suppressed voice, "Wendy, can I hug you?"
"Huh?" Wendy got caught off guard, and her face blushed. "No, umm..."
Unfortunately, Wendy’s refusal got drowned in Michael’s kisses.
It predestinated to be a special night.
***
When Wendy woke up early in the morning, she first perceived that her body was sore.
The scene of last night involuntarily came up in her mind, making her whole body a little stiff.
She instinctively reached for her phone to check the time.
She told at a glance that it was already 10 a.m.
That really finished her off. She just swore yesterday that she would go to work today.
Wendy hurriedly got up, and only when she moved did she realize that there was someone next to her.
Turning her head, Wendy met Michael’s smiling eyes and was instantly embarrassed.
Michael was actually looking at her with such seductive eyes.
Before Wendy could say anything, Michael said with a smile, "Good morning, Wendy."
"Morning? It’s already 10 a.m. Don’t you need to go to work?" Wendy deliberately stressed her tone to cover up her fluctuating mood.
Looking at the blushing Wendy, Michael directly reached out to pull her down and hugged her in his arms. "Staying with my darling wife is much more important than going to work."
Michael’s action, plus what he said, made Wendy immediately push him away.
Then she quickly got off the bed, picked up the jacket on the side to put it on, and stammered.
"I, I have to go...to work today."
"Your eyes had not fully recovered yet. Let’s take a few more days." Michael said, "Isn’t there still half a month left? No need to rush."
What Michael wanted is to stall Wendy first.
When it became too late to catch up with the progress, he could pay the compensation directly. Hence, Wendy did not have to think about working.
"Half a month is already a tight deadline. Besides, I am now losing my memory and still not sure if I can work properly. Thus, I definitely need to go to the company as soon as possible to get used to the working state. Otherwise, how can I revise the design?" Wendy was trying to persuade Michael solemnly. "I know you care about me and have sufficient money for compensation, but this is not a project that must lose money. I will try my best. Perhaps we can avoid the loss in the end."
According to Wendy’s usual capability, the fashion collections designed by her were unlikely to lose money. But now, with her memory loss, she was not sure about her finished designs turning out.
Nevertheless, as long as the project was back on the rails, it would not be much more of a loss than just leaving it idle.
During these days, Michael had been with her in the hospital and put down a lot of work.
Wendy merely wanted to do her bit to retrieve some of the losses likely caused by her.
"Wendy..." Michael was still worried about her.
Wendy directly made a pause gesture and tilted her head as if she had already made up her mind. "Please don’t say anything else. I have to go to the company."
Afterward, Wendy muttered in a soft voice. "I exchanged for this opportunity at the expense of myself last night. I am not going to give up."
Although Wendy said these words in such a low voice, Michael still heard them.
Michael’s smile widened a bit. Then he went up to hold her in his arms, lowered his head, and looked at Wendy lying in his arms. With deliberately suppressed desire in his voice, Michael said, "How about exchanging it once again? And then I will agree."
Wendy looked into Michael’s eyes. She was so shocked that her heart raced.
This man had already tossed her around last night.
She had no idea how long he had been celibate, as his energy was amazing.
Michael felt wronged. As a matter of fact, he hadn’t had an intimate interaction for a long time.
Although he used to dote on Yvonne Taylor, he had never loved her, let alone hugged her. Yvonne did seduce him before, but Michael did not have any thoughts about that.
For Wendy, during the first three years of marriage, Michael would only interact with her as a punishment when he was drunk.
Undoubtedly, neither Michael nor Wendy was happy under this circumstance.
