Chapter 723: Chapter 724: The Lord Appears

"Perhaps. The Tower Master is inscrutable. Even if he doesn’t say anything, we have an idea of what he plans to do," Hai Wubian said, his tone somewhat frustrated.

"I suspect he’ll appear soon. The current situation doesn’t seem too favorable," Lin Kuang remarked, his voice laced with seriousness.

Hearing this, Hai Wubian and the other two nodded in agreement. "Yes, the current situation is indeed not good. The Demon Sect’s reappearance is truly an unexpected development. It’s surprising that they’ve established forces not only in the Island Country but all over the world. This is disadvantageous for us and for other nations as well. After all, the people of the Demon Sect are utterly evil. Their methods are cruel, and they are capable of anything. We must stop them. Of course, for them to build such strength and even cooperate with other countries, I believe certain powers must have been helping them in the shadows. Otherwise, how could they have developed so rapidly?" Hai Wubian finished with a cold laugh, murderous intent flickering in his eyes.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang was slightly startled, and his gaze grew even more solemn. "Senior, are you saying someone is using the Demon Sect to deal with us?"

"Exactly," Hai Wubian said indifferently. "Otherwise, how do you think the Demon Sect could have developed so rapidly?"

Lin Kuang nodded again. He hadn’t considered this point before, but with Hai Wubian’s explanation, he had a sudden epiphany and understood the crux of the matter.

"It looks like things are getting quite messy," Lin Kuang said, rubbing his temples.

"Indeed. But since we destroyed the Demon Sect once, we can certainly destroy them a second time," Hai Wubian stated emphatically.

"Yes. This time, we need to wipe them out completely," Lin Kuang added.

"Well, let’s discuss these matters later. There’s no rush. Tonight, we’ll go to Kokusei Shrine. I want to see for myself what these Demon Sect members have been up to in the Island Country," Hai Wubian said calmly, his words laced with a strong murderous intent.

"Good. Senior Hai, please rest first. I’ll lead the way for you tonight," Lin Kuang offered.

Hai Wubian nodded, and the group dispersed.

The group reconvened that evening. After dinner, once it grew dark, they left together. Lin Kuang, Hai Wubian, Tian Wujing, Di Wuya, Blood Asura, and four masters of the Three Flowers Gathering at the Top—a group of nine in total—hurried toward Kokusei Shrine.

The nine of them arrived quickly at Kokusei Shrine in two cars.

After getting out, Lin Kuang took the lead, guiding everyone into the shrine and toward the underground space. As before, people were lying in ambush within the courtyard of the Third Layer. However, these ambushers were far too weak for Lin Kuang’s group and were disposed of with ease. The group then proceeded into the underground passageway, descending to the very bottom.

"There’s one master here who has advanced to the Five Energies Towards The Origin realm, along with two Skyline experts," Tian Wujing announced, having sensed their presence.

"Yes, just those three," Hai Wubian confirmed.

Lin Kuang couldn’t help but frown. Just those three? For his group, three such opponents were far too weak to be of any concern.

"They’re here," Di Wuya said suddenly.

Sure enough, just as Di Wuya finished speaking, Demon Ghost arrived with two Skyline experts in tow. Upon seeing Hai Wubian, Tian Wujing, and Di Wuya, Demon Ghost’s indifferent expression clearly changed.

"I never expected to have alerted the Guardian Elders of Wumi Building. This is truly an honor," Demon Ghost said, looking at the three powerful figures.

Hearing this, Hai Wubian frowned. "It seems you really are with the Demon Sect; otherwise, how would you know about the three of us? I suppose your master must have been one of the higher-ups in the old Demon Sect, correct?" he asked indifferently.

"Since you’ve asked, I’ll tell you. Yes, the Master was indeed one of the senior figures from that time," Demon Ghost replied calmly.

Hai Wubian nodded. "Very good. You seem quite confident. Do you have a way to deal with us?" As he spoke, he fixed his gaze on Demon Ghost. His bright eyes seemed to pierce right through the man, causing his expression to change once more.

"As expected of Hai Wubian. Your strength is as formidable as ever," Demon Ghost said, though his usually cold face was now slightly pale. He looked as if he had been injured by Hai Wubian’s gaze alone. Lin Kuang was astonished.

A glance that wounds? What kind of technique is that?!

"Enough talk," Hai Wubian said coolly, looking at Demon Ghost. "I’ll give you one chance to use your techniques. Otherwise, you won’t get another."

"No, no, there’s no need. Even if you gave me the chance, I’m no match for you. I’m self-aware enough to know that," Demon Ghost said. "However, the Master is about to arrive. Any business you have should be taken up with him."

Hai Wubian’s frown deepened. "Your Master is coming? Fine. Let’s see which scumbag managed to survive from back then."

"Hai Wubian, speaking ill of someone behind their back doesn’t seem to suit your status."

Just as Hai Wubian finished speaking, a faint voice suddenly echoed through the space.

At the sound of the voice, the expressions of Hai Wubian, Tian Wujing, and Di Wuya shifted. They hadn’t detected the newcomer at all; they only realized someone was there when he spoke. This was enough to prove that the man was incredibly powerful, perhaps even stronger than them.

Instantly, the three of them looked up, their gazes focusing on the darkness ahead.

At that moment, the sound of tense footsteps echoed, each one seeming to land on the listeners’ very heartbeats, creating an exceedingly oppressive feeling. The faces of Lin Kuang and Blood Asura turned slightly pale, but they clenched their jaws and stood firm, enduring the inexplicable sensation.

Gradually, a dark silhouette appeared before them. The figure was clad in a black robe, his head concealed by a black hood that was part of the garment, making it impossible to see his face.

"Enough with the theatrics! Who are you?!" Di Wuya scoffed at the black-robed man.

"Di Wuya, must you be so hot-tempered? After all these years, your temper hasn’t changed one bit, has it?" the man in black chuckled, seeming quite familiar with Hai Wubian and the others.

"Greetings, Master," Demon Ghost and the two Skyline experts said in unison, dropping to one knee. The eyes of the two Skyline experts burned with fervent devotion.

"Rise," the man in black said faintly. He was obviously the so-called "Master."

"Yes, Master," Demon Ghost and the other two replied with the utmost respect.
