Chapter 718: Chapter 719: Evil Reappears

Matsuo Chihe was fast, but compared to Lin Kuang, he was still far too slow! Seeing Matsuo Chihe try to flee, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but sneer. "Thinking of leaving? It’s not that easy!"

As he spoke, his footwork flashed, and he pushed the speed of his Extreme Shadow Illusion to its peak. His entire form became a phantom that shot forward, instantly leaving Matsuo Chihe in the dust.

Matsuo Chihe’s expression changed. He hadn’t expected Lin Kuang to be so fast, catching up to him in a mere instant. Shaking off Lin Kuang was simply impossible. With no other choice, Matsuo Chihe gritted his teeth and steeled himself for a tough fight. He realized he wouldn’t be able to escape without defeating Lin Kuang. Since that was the case, his only option was to battle it out!

With that thought, Matsuo Chihe went all out, unleashing a sudden horizontal slash aimed at Lin Kuang’s waist.

In response, Lin Kuang just sneered, his body flickering as he easily dodged the attack. Simultaneously, he thrust his own sword forward, and the Nameless Sword shot toward Matsuo Chihe’s throat. Matsuo Chihe’s katana swung in a wide arc, blocking the attack.

Even though his strike was blocked, Lin Kuang’s expression didn’t change in the slightest. His hand moved in a blur, aiming the Nameless Sword at Matsuo Chihe’s heart. Once again, the katana moved to block the attack. Under Lin Kuang’s fierce assault, Matsuo Chihe was forced entirely on the defensive. He had absolutely no opportunity to counterattack and was being thoroughly suppressed.

Lin Kuang’s attacks grew even more ferocious.

Matsuo Chihe’s expression was grim, and he was filled with a sense of suffocating frustration. His strength was arguably no weaker than Lin Kuang’s, yet being so completely suppressed was simply maddening!

Seeing Matsuo Chihe still holding on, Lin Kuang grew impatient. He didn’t want to dally with him any longer; he needed to finish this quickly so he could help Blood Asura. With that in mind, Lin Kuang changed his tactics. He switched from the Antelope Hanging Horn Sword Technique to the Chaotic Tai Chi Sword, and his footwork shifted from Extreme Shadow Illusion to Bagua Steps.

Facing this sudden change in Lin Kuang’s techniques, a flicker of joy ignited in Matsuo Chihe’s heart. He could now see Lin Kuang’s moves; they were slow, and he could follow them clearly.

Is this guy sick? I couldn’t resist his previous swordsmanship at all, and he just gave it up? Why is he using such a slow technique? Matsuo Chihe wondered, completely bewildered.

However, that didn’t matter. Since Lin Kuang had abandoned the swordsmanship that had been suppressing him, this was undoubtedly a welcome development. But when he engaged Lin Kuang in battle again, he discovered that he was in an even more miserable predicament. Facing Lin Kuang’s slow swordsmanship, he was overcome by a profound sense of powerlessness.

Yes, absolute powerlessness. It felt as if every swing of his katana was cutting through empty air. It was an incredibly stifling and infuriating sensation—even more so than before!

Damn it, what the hell is happening? His swordsmanship has clearly slowed down, so why do I feel this overwhelming sense of powerlessness?! What is going on?! Matsuo Chihe screamed internally. The feeling was agonizingly frustrating, leaving him deeply exasperated.

Seeing Matsuo Chihe’s twisted expression, Lin Kuang cracked a small smile. This was the Chaotic Tai Chi Sword, created by the Wudang founder, Zhang Sanfeng. It harmonized with the fundamental principles of heaven and earth. Its movements might appear slow, but it was a top-tier form of swordsmanship. How could someone with Matsuo Chihe’s limited insight possibly comprehend it?

Meanwhile, the battle raged on, and Blood Asura was barely holding his ground. After all, he was facing two Skyline level experts alone, and the pressure was immense. Fortunately, his opponents weren’t overwhelmingly powerful, and Blood Asura’s own combat experience was incredibly rich. Plus, his two notoriously elusive daggers kept the two men from the Island Country on their guard. This combination of factors was the only reason he was still in the fight.

However, Blood Asura had already sustained two cuts, and it was clear he couldn’t last much longer. He could only hope that Lin Kuang would finish his opponent quickly; he wasn’t ready to die just yet.

Lin Kuang’s powerful Perception picked up on Blood Asura’s predicament, and his attacks immediately became several degrees more ferocious. As Lin Kuang intensified his assault, Matsuo Chihe instantly began to buckle. He was already struggling to block Lin Kuang’s attacks; how could he possibly withstand them now that they had grown even more intense?

In a flash, Lin Kuang’s Nameless Sword pierced through Matsuo Chihe’s left shoulder. His face became utterly grim, but before he could even think to retaliate, Lin Kuang flicked his wrist, and the Nameless Sword pierced through his right shoulder as well.

With both his shoulders pierced, Matsuo Chihe’s expression became ferocious. "DAMN YOU, YOU CHINESE BASTARD!" he roared, his voice laced with a shrill edge like the shriek of a vengeful ghost. "YOU FORCED MY HAND! IT WAS YOU WHO FORCED ME!"

Hearing Matsuo Chihe’s words, Lin Kuang’s expression remained perfectly calm.

But just then, a sudden, bizarre change occurred. A black light began to surge around Matsuo Chihe’s body as a malevolent aura erupted from him. In that instant, his power surged dramatically.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang’s expression tightened, and a grave look entered his eyes. He had seen this sort of thing before when he had dealt with Inoue Kenta, who had claimed that this power was a gift from their lord. But to this day, Lin Kuang still had no idea who this so-called ’lord’ actually was.

Feeling this evil, powerful force once again, his heart sank.

Could their ’lord’ be someone from the Demon Sect? Or is it someone else entirely? he thought, his expression darkening as he watched Matsuo Chihe.

"YOU DAMNED CHINESE BASTARD, YOU FORCED MY HAND!" Matsuo Chihe said maniacally, seeming utterly entranced by his lord’s power. "Now I’ll let you taste our lord’s power! I’ll let you witness his true might!"

Hearing this, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but sneer. "Is that so? It sounds like your lord is even more powerful than your leader."

"Of course!" Matsuo Chihe exclaimed, his eyes filled with a feverish reverence. "The lord’s power is beyond comprehension! He is absolute! He is invincible!"

Seeing this, Lin Kuang’s heart tightened. So, they really do have a ’lord’ figure. It seems their leader is just a commander working for this so-called lord. The real person in charge is the lord.

"CHINESE BASTARD, DIE!" Matsuo Chihe roared again. His katana, now wreathed in pitch-black energy, slashed down toward Lin Kuang’s head.
