Chapter 717: Chapter 718 Matsuo Chihe

"Who the hell are you?!" the leader of the men from the Island Country demanded, his words laced with lethal intent.

"The one who will kill you," Lin Kuang responded indifferently, his cold voice carrying the same murderous edge.

"You’re from Hua Country?!" the leading man asked with a frown. Although Lin Kuang spoke Japanese, the man could still identify him as a native of Hua Country from the subtle nuances in his speech.

"Correct. Are you the leader of the Yamata no Orochi organization?" Lin Kuang asked, studying the man before him.

"No. If our leader were here, you would already be dead," the man replied.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang’s mind stirred. This man likely had no reason to lie, which meant the organization’s leader was not present.

Their leader is at least a master of the Three Flowers Gathering at the Top. Fortunately, he isn’t here, or this mission would have been for nothing, Lin Kuang thought, sizing up the man before him.

"I see. So your leader is from Hua Country, correct?" Lin Kuang said, his expression icy.

The man’s complexion shifted, and he blurted out, "How did you know?"

Seeing the man’s reaction, Lin Kuang’s heart grew cold. "So it’s true! You really are members of the Evil Cult!" he exclaimed. He had only been bluffing, but to his surprise, the trick had worked.

"You tricked me?!" the man roared, his voice filled with rage.

"Congratulations, you guessed correctly. I was indeed tricking you. Thank you for providing the answer," Lin Kuang said with a smile.

"Damned Chinaman! You’re courting death!" Matsuo Chihe said coldly.

The next moment, he gripped his katana with both hands and slashed fiercely at Lin Kuang’s head.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang remained calm, raising Nameless above his head to block Matsuo Chihe’s strike. Feeling the immense force transmitted from Matsuo Chihe’s hands, Lin Kuang grew tense. This guy is a powerful opponent!

Matsuo Chihe’s expression also turned grim. He could feel Lin Kuang’s formidable strength, which came as a shock. "Attack! Kill them!" Matsuo Chihe roared. He swept his katana waist-high toward Lin Kuang while the other two men charged at Blood Asura.

In response, Lin Kuang lowered Nameless, once again thwarting Matsuo Chihe’s attack. "Hold them off. I’ll help you after I finish this guy," Lin Kuang said, glancing at Blood Asura.

Blood Asura said nothing, merely giving a silent nod as he engaged the two men, a dagger in each hand.

"Save him? Dream on!" Matsuo Chihe sneered. "Both of you are going to die today!"

"We’ll see who dies after we fight. Isn’t it a bit early for you to be so certain?" Lin Kuang retorted with a cold laugh.

The next moment, Lin Kuang gripped Nameless and brought it slashing down toward Matsuo Chihe’s head. Matsuo Chihe didn’t dare to be careless. Lin Kuang’s strength was obvious, and he couldn’t afford to underestimate him. With that thought, he gripped his katana with both hands and met the attack head-on.

CLANG!

The grating clash of metal resounded as Matsuo Chihe blocked Lin Kuang’s attack.

In response, Lin Kuang’s feet flashed as he employed Extreme Shadow Illusion while simultaneously executing the Antelope Hanging Horn Sword Technique. Instantly, Nameless became ethereal and unpredictable. Matsuo Chihe had no idea when or where the next strike would originate. The sensation left him feeling constricted and deeply unnerved.

Lin Kuang didn’t care about his opponent’s discomfort and pressed his attack with Nameless at high speed. After all, Blood Asura was fighting two enemies at once, and Lin Kuang was worried. He couldn’t afford for Blood Asura to be killed. He’s a major asset, and I still have uses for him.

At this thought, Lin Kuang’s attacks quickened, pushing his Antelope Hanging Horn Sword Technique almost to its limit.

Matsuo Chihe was forced into a constant retreat. Although his raw power was not inferior to Lin Kuang’s, his swordsmanship was far less refined. The martial arts heritage of Hua Country was incredibly profound. Refined by generations of predecessors, its martial arts had become supremely sophisticated and were considered top-class in the world. The Island Country was a much younger nation, and its understanding of martial arts was still naive in comparison. The gap between it and Hua Country was like the difference between a firefly and the radiant moon.

Watching Lin Kuang’s terrifying swordsmanship, Matsuo Chihe couldn’t help but curse inwardly. Damned Chinaman!

Lin Kuang’s swordsmanship was too exquisite, leaving him no opportunity to counterattack. He had to remain constantly on guard, never knowing from where the next strike would emerge. The pressure made him extremely uncomfortable. Gradually, Matsuo Chihe was completely suppressed, able to defend but lacking any strength to retaliate.

I can’t keep this up! If this continues, I’ll eventually lose to him! Matsuo Chihe thought desperately as he watched Lin Kuang’s increasingly fierce attacks. As this thought crossed his mind, a glint appeared in his eyes. I still have my ninja stars! Why am I holding back? Aren’t they meant for killing?

At this thought, Matsuo Chihe’s figure flashed as he abruptly retreated.

Why would Lin Kuang let him escape? With a burst of power from his legs, he shot forward in pursuit. Just as they were less than five meters apart, Matsuo Chihe’s shoulder twitched. He whipped around and threw a ninja star, which shot fiercely toward Lin Kuang’s head.

Lin Kuang’s expression remained perfectly calm, without a hint of panic. The moment he saw Matsuo Chihe’s shoulder twitch, he knew his opponent was about to try something tricky. Just as he expected, a throwing star flew toward him, but Lin Kuang was already prepared.

As the ninja star hurtled toward him, Lin Kuang swung Nameless down with immense force.

CLANG!

In an instant, the ninja star, as hard as refined steel, was split in two and clattered to the ground.

"Is that all you’ve got?" Lin Kuang sneered at the surprised Matsuo Chihe. To think he could beat me with such a petty trick. He’s really overestimating himself.

Matsuo Chihe’s expression turned ugly. He knew that if things continued this way, the situation would become dire. A murderous glint flashed in his eyes as he fumed internally. Damn it! Why isn’t the leader here now? If he were, this punk wouldn’t dare to be so arrogant!

Lin Kuang couldn’t be bothered with words. He lunged forward, thrusting Nameless toward Matsuo Chihe’s heart.

Seeing Lin Kuang attack again, Matsuo Chihe turned and ran. I have to inform the leader and get him back here quickly! Otherwise, it will all be over by the time he arrives!

His plan was sound, but had he asked for Lin Kuang’s permission to leave?
