Chapter 715: Chapter 716: Underground Space
"How does it feel? Pretty great, isn’t it?" he transmitted with a smirk, watching the ninja squirm in agony.
"No, no! If you have the guts, just kill me! Kill me!" the ninja mouthed desperately.
Lin Kuang couldn’t be bothered with him and continued to apply his Bone-dislocating Hand, completely ignoring the man’s pleas. The pain drove the ninja to beg ceaselessly for death, but Lin Kuang paid him no mind. In the end, the man couldn’t bear the torment any longer and spilled everything he knew.
"Just as I thought. So there really is a mechanism here," Lin Kuang transmitted. "Why didn’t you just say so earlier? You could have saved yourself all this suffering." He then patted the man down, finding a card and several dozen shuriken. With that, Lin Kuang finished the man off. Surprisingly, as the ninja died, his face showed a hint of relief.
Lin Kuang stood up, walked out of the room, and glanced at Blood Asura. "Let’s go," he transmitted. Blood Asura nodded, and the two of them departed swiftly.
As Lin Kuang walked, he observed their surroundings carefully. Eventually, he stopped in front of a room, pushed the door open, and walked inside. The ninja had, after all, told him that this room was the entrance to an underground complex where the Yamata no Orochi organization was based.
The room was spacious but sparsely furnished with only a round table and a few chairs, giving it the appearance of an abandoned space.
Lin Kuang walked up to the round table and sent a Sound Transmission to Blood Asura. "In a moment, the wall in front of you will open, revealing two ninjas hiding behind it. When it opens, take them out."
"Understood," Blood Asura transmitted back, readying himself to strike. Seeing him poised, Lin Kuang no longer hesitated, placing the card he was holding onto the center of the round table.
Without a sound, the wall in front of Blood Asura slid open. The moment the opening was wide enough for a person to pass through, Blood Asura flashed inside and eliminated the two hidden ninjas. Lin Kuang followed right after, card in hand, to see their bodies lying off to the side.
"Should we dispose of the bodies?" Blood Asura asked via Sound Transmission as Lin Kuang entered.
Lin Kuang shook his head. "No need. Let’s go." With that, he moved on, and Blood Asura followed swiftly behind.
They advanced rapidly yet cautiously down a path leading underground. The slope grew increasingly steep, suggesting the underground space was a good ten to twenty meters below the surface. In less than five minutes, the path leveled out, signaling they had reached the bottom.
"Let’s move. Be careful," Lin Kuang transmitted, proceeding with extra caution. "The people we’re about to face are a group of very evil individuals." Blood Asura remained silent, simply following behind as they ventured deeper.
After another five minutes of walking, they reached a corner. Beyond it stood a door guarded by two men. Lin Kuang stepped around the corner and flung two shuriken from his hand, killing the guards instantly before they could even whimper. He then advanced with Blood Asura close behind.
At that moment, Lin Kuang extended his Perception to its full extent, moving carefully to avoid detection. Within minutes, his expression turned grave. There were dozens of people in the underground base, and each of them was powerful. The weakest among them were at the Peak of the Postnatal realm, and there were four or five experts at the Skyline level.
Fortunately, Lin Kuang didn’t detect any masters who had reached Three Flowers Gathering at the Top. That, at least, could be considered good news. If there were masters of that caliber present, he and Blood Asura would have had no choice but to leave immediately. Their chances of success against such an expert would be far too slim.
"If I’m not mistaken, there are five Skyline-level experts in there, and the rest are Postnatal masters," Lin Kuang transmitted to Blood Asura. "Are you confident we can assassinate our way through?"
"It’s hard to say," Blood Asura replied via Sound Transmission. "But since the strongest are only at the Skyline level, we can at least ensure our own survival. They won’t be able to stop us if we decide to leave."
Hearing this, Lin Kuang nodded with a smile. Blood Asura was right; even with Skyline-level experts present, it would be extremely difficult for them to stop their escape. This was precisely why Lin Kuang was willing to proceed.
"Have you ever heard of the Demon Sect?" Lin Kuang asked via Sound Transmission, glancing at his companion.
Blood Asura was taken aback, wondering why Lin Kuang would bring this up now. Still, he transmitted his reply, "I have some knowledge of them. The Demon Sect is an enemy to all Ancient Warriors. They are extremely brutal."
"That’s right," Lin Kuang transmitted. "And I’m telling you now, this is a hideout for the Yamata no Orochi organization. Furthermore, it’s highly likely this organization has ties to the Demon Sect."
Blood Asura’s expression shifted. "Are you saying the Demon Sect’s claws have reached even here?"
"Exactly! Of course, I don’t know much about the Demon Sect’s affairs, but after their last major defeat, they vanished from our Hua Country almost without a trace. Now that they’ve resurfaced, it’s clear they weren’t entirely wiped out back then; they probably just withdrew from Hua Country. I even wonder if the Demon Sect, after withdrawing, went into hibernation in various parts of the world to secretly build its power? Now that the Yamata no Orochi organization seems to be connected to them, I believe my theory is very likely correct," Lin Kuang transmitted, laying out his entire speculation.
Hearing Lin Kuang’s words, Blood Asura’s face grew grim. He didn’t know all the details about the Demon Sect, but he had a basic understanding, and Lin Kuang’s theory seemed frighteningly plausible. If it were true, the Demon Sect’s resurgence would be a terrifying prospect.
"Phew, I’ve said a little too much," Lin Kuang transmitted again, looking at Blood Asura. "Come on, let’s make our move. We’ll eliminate the people here first, and make sure to capture a couple of them alive. We need to interrogate them and find out if they truly have any connection to the Demon Sect."
Blood Asura nodded grimly. "Alright, then let’s kill our way in," he transmitted, his tone filled with furious killing intent. "Everyone associated with the Demon Sect deserves to die!"
Without further hesitation, Lin Kuang threw open the door before them and charged inside. As he crossed the threshold, two shuriken shot from his hand, instantly felling the two ninjas standing just behind the door.
