Chapter 18: Chapter 18 Miraleth
"It was the most delicious meal I’ve had in my entire life, so you’re as beautiful as you’re skilled at cooking," Aiden spoke.

"Thank you, Your Holiness," Miraleth replied, her face had turned bright red as she struggled to hide her affection.
Aiden was told by Zero that once the total affection level reaches 50%, it’s supposed to slow down. Truly, it’s hard to get somebody to like you that fast, but not for Miraleth; she was in awe of Aiden, not completely but still Aiden knew it would be easy to get him, and that was exactly what he was going to do.
"So Miraleth, I have a question, I haven’t seen elves in the city because they have their own kingdom right? So what are you doing here?" Aiden asked.
"Oh..." She muttered bringing her head down, "I’m not welcome in the Elven Kingdom of Troyra," She replied.
"You’re not welcome, but aren’t you an elf? Why wouldn’t you be welcome in your kingdom?" Aiden asked.
"I’m not a full-blooded elf, I’m only half, my father is a human"
’Whoa, she’s only half elf and she’s this beautiful, and elves are really stupid, just because someone tickled with any species and suddenly she’s an outcast... I know elves like to keep their blood pure, but what can you do?’
"I thought humans and elves got along fine?"
"Yes, that’s the reason my mother came to this city. She loved to travel but since going to the other side of the sea is dangerous, she came here. Elves aren’t allowed to mate with anyone other than elves; it’s done to protect our species as I was told"
Miraleth had a sad look on her face like she was going to cry but the Aiden stretched his hands forward, "Come my lovely elf"
She was surprised but slowly moved towards Aiden, and instead of sitting next to him, Aiden made her sit on his lap and his hands moved to her head as he slowly patted her like a baby.
"My mother fell in love with a human, and I was born. Both she and her newborn weren’t allowed to return to the kingdom so I grew up here, and without going back to the kingdom, I couldn’t awaken properly" Miraleth spoke.
"You couldn’t awaken properly?"
"Elves and humans have different methods of awakening. Since I wasn’t welcome to the elven kingdom, my awakening was done here, and my growth was stunted. I’m not blaming anyone, I’m just angry at the elven kingdom," Miraleth spoke and actually started to cry.
Aiden couldn’t do anything other than hold her head close to his chest as she continued crying.
’Hey zero, what does she mean by that’
[Elves usually have high mana capacity unlike humans. Mana is naturally drawn to elves, their awakening ceremony must be special to only elves, but since she used the human method, it must have affected her growth somehow]
’So this awakening ceremony, how does it work?’
[In this kingdom, anyone at the age of 18 undergoes the awakening ceremony to awaken their talent and receive blessings from the goddess. It’s the awakening ceremony that decides who gets to be a priest, mage, or a knight]
’Ohh, so before the age of 18 who do kids do, just sit around and wait to be blessed? Also is everyone blessed? I’m sure there are lots of normal humans?’
[Of course not everyone is blessed by the goddess, but still you can still attend the knight academy or become an adventurer, you don’t need the goddess’s blessing to live a good life, but Miraleth’s case must be different since the elves also have their goddess]
’So she was blessed by the wrong goddess and became a bad priestess. Is she getting bullied by the other priestesses? I can’t sense her abilities. I really need to read about magic’
Miraleth finally stopped crying and pulled away from Aiden. When she did Aiden used his hands to wipe her tears. Now, both of them were staring at each other. It was going exactly as Aiden planned, but if this were to continue, he wasn’t sure he would be able to get her into the bathroom.

Still one of his hands was wrapped around Miraleth’s waist and like she knew what he wanted, she brought her face closer and closer till she was right in front of Aiden, then she closed her eyes.
"It’s been a long day" Aiden spoke and Miraleth’s eyes blinked open. She quickly stood up from his lap as and bowed her head. She couldn’t believe she tried to kiss the Head Priest.
"I’m sorry, Your Holiness" Miraleth spoke in a haste, she thought Aiden liked her given the compliments she had been receiving from him.
’What is wrong with me? How can I try to kiss the Head Priest? I hope he doesn’t dismiss me; I thought this was my chance to get close to the Head Priest. Maybe he can teach me more about healing magic. I can’t go back to...’ Miraleth stopped as Aiden held her head raising it back up.
"Did you do anything wrong? I simply said it’s been a long day, and I’d like to take my bath now. Can you prepare my bath?" Aiden asked.
