Chapter 205: Chapter 130: Flipping the Tag
Qi Sheng made up a story about a non-existent conglomerate to make it easier for Tan Hua to accept.
’Oh my god, my boyfriend actually owns an entire building!’
Tan Hua felt that if she were to say that out loud, 99% of the girls on Earth would probably die of envy.
"Let’s be low-key."
Qi Sheng smiled and waved his hand dismissively. "So, will you come with me to the company’s annual party?"
"Your company’s annual party... I have to go to that?"
The thought of all those employees watching as she walked in on her boyfriend’s arm made Tan Hua feel a little shy and nervous.
"Well, of course."
Qi Sheng nodded as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
"You’re the boss’s lady. You didn’t expect me to take someone else, did you?"
"I’ll go! Of course, I’ll go!"
Tan Hua could be indifferent about other things.
But she would absolutely never give another woman the chance to appear in Qi Sheng’s circle as his official girlfriend.
"But I don’t have a suitable dress. Won’t I embarrass you if I’m underdressed?"
After agreeing to go, Tan Hua couldn’t help but feel conflicted.
’As the boss’s lady, I can’t just show up to Qi Sheng’s company party wearing a popular style from LV or Chanel.’
’What if I end up wearing the same thing as one of the female employees?’
’That would be so awkward, and it would embarrass Qi Sheng, too.’
"That’s simple. We’ll just go buy one," Qi Sheng said casually.
"Okay, then I’ll just use the allowance you gave me."
Tan Hua didn’t usually have many expenses, so she had a few hundred thousand on hand.
Buying a custom-made formal gown for herself wouldn’t be a problem.
"It’s the thought that counts. You should keep your money for yourself. I’ll buy the dress for you."
"Those custom-made gowns can easily cost several hundred thousand."
"With your budget, you’d barely have enough for a daywear outfit."
Tan Hua thought for a moment. If she was going to attend the company’s annual party with Qi Sheng, she definitely had to dress her best so she wouldn’t make him lose face.
Her gown would have to be from a major designer brand, at the very least.
Her budget was, admittedly, a little tight for that.
Tan Hua didn’t insist further. She leaned in and gave Qi Sheng a kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you, darling!"
"A verbal thank you isn’t enough. I prefer something a little more... tangible," Qi Sheng said suggestively, his eyes fixed on his girlfriend’s red lips.
"You devil."
Tan Hua’s delicate face instantly flushed.
"Well... I’ll thank you properly tonight. That should be enough, right?"
"Now you’re talking."
Qi Sheng nodded in satisfaction.
"We don’t need to rush to buy the dress. Let’s go buy a bag first."
"As the lady of the company, carrying an LV is a bit beneath your station now."
"You need an Hermes Birkin at the very least. That’s more befitting of your status."
Qi Sheng had to admit it himself.
Hermes’s position in the world of luxury goods was truly in a league of its own.
No other brand could surpass it.
Although brands like Hermes, Chanel, LV, and Dior were all considered luxury goods, the one truly at the pinnacle was Hermes alone.
In the fashion world, there was a saying:
Every woman dreams of owning an Hermes bag!
Hermes not only had immense prestige, but its prices were also far ahead of the competition.
When Tan Hua heard that Qi Sheng wanted to buy her an Hermes—a Birkin, no less—she was momentarily stunned.
As a luxury sales associate herself, she had of course heard about the Hermes "quota system."
For less popular styles, it wasn’t a big deal; a token purchase would suffice.
But for the three most popular bags, you had to spend at least a 1:1 ratio on other goods just to be offered one.
In other words, a popular Hermes bag could easily cost over three hundred thousand.
That was several times more expensive than a bag from LV or Chanel.
Moreover, Qi Sheng had never given any other woman an Hermes bag.
This just went to show how much he truly favored her.
